Hello everybody, Brianna here again.

Thanks for all the questions you asked after my first post. Also the ones that came in as a private message. I'll try to answer your questions as honestly as I can.

Now, I won't call anyone out, but no, I'm not planning to be a mom anytime soon. And just like human girls, I like to get to know you better first, before I even consider a date.

Anyway, last week was really weird. We had our annual homecoming festival. You see, a lot of our people are travelers. They visit other cities and communities, and exchange the latest news, inventions and even gossip. And as the oceans are full of danger, they're often accompanied by one or more guardians, mermaids trained like soldiers, that can take out a shark or a violent octopus.

So, most of our people plan to be home during the festival, which takes place the day after the first full moon after the spring solstice. Oh, I can hear you groan already, if we live in cities under the ocean floor, why do we measure important dates by sun and moon events? And you'd be right, I never even saw a sun or moon until I was finally allowed outside the city during a school excursion or a vacation with my family.

But, as I said before, we have existed for thousands of years, and only the last couple hundreds in hiding, and old habits don't die easily. Plus, it's still one of the best methods to determine seasons and overall measure time.

Where was I? Oh yes, full moon was last week, and it was the first time I could welcome back our travelers, before they even reached the city. It was awesome to hear the gossip first, for once. And right while I was chatting with a family friend, at surface level, it got dark, in the middle of the day.

Thank goodness for the friend, as I got really scared, but she knew what was going on. The moon completely covered the sun. It was a beautiful sight, like a diamond ring around a dark ball. A pity it lasted such a short time.

Problem was, it drove all the sharks in the area nuts. Maybe they were scared as well, and they don't like being scared. So they got angry and aggressive. Thank goodness my friend traveled with two guardians, or I may not have made it back here. Four sharks were killed, and normally they back off when a guardian takes them on, but not this time. They kept coming and coming for us, until our guardians has to kill them, something trey try to prevent under normal conditions.

So yes, the festival lasted until today, that's why I'm so late, but I wanted to share this with you all. Next time I'll go deeper into all the questions you asked so far.
