This story is all fiction and unlike most of my stories does not contain any erotic material. It does not have the Mature flag up. Some people may still be offended though, as it is the story of a transgender woman in a lesbian relationship. This is the continuation of two very mature chapters, that ended happy like a fairytale. Unfortunately we don't live in fairyland and the LGBT+ community is often the victim of ridicule and bullying. I have found a decent ending still in this final chapter follow-up as people can change once you take their fear for the unknown away.
Not everyone one is this lucky though...

That night there were complications. An unbelievable itch that drove Jade nuts. It felt like her scrotum was still there and she needed to scratch it. It took all her willpower not to and damage the new skin there. When things didn't improve they gave her something to bring her under. But in her sleep her hands were still moving to scratch and so they had to tie her wrists to the side of the bed. It was decided that she had to stay in the hospital for the whole week. When she woke up in the morning all was back to normal but it was a bit scary waking up while your hands are tied.

After breakfast there was a knock on the door and when it opened her father looked around the door. "I'm sorry," he said, "I'm looking for my son, eeehh my dau... they must have given me the wrong room number."
But Jade called him back, "No dad, you have the right room!"
Her dad came back, entered the room. "Oh my God, I can't believe it, is that you JD?"
Jade nodded, "I go by Jade now."
"That's funny," he replied, "that's the name we had picked out for you when we thought you were going to be a girl. JD was really based on that, we had your initials before we had your names."
Jade smiled, apparently she had come full circle.

"I have to confess", her dad continued, "that your mom told me I had to come see you. Somehow she's okay with you turning into a girl but I'm not. What the hell's wrong with you? You had such a nice girl, I really liked her. Are you going to bring guys home now? Is that it, you're really gay?"
Jade shook her head. "No, I won't bring guys home. I'm still seeing Dee, as a matter if fact, we're getting married. But with me being a woman now, that does make me gay, yes."
Her dad looked confused now. "Let me get this straight. You turned into a girl but you still marry the girl you loved? Why not stay a guy then?"
Jade understood his logic. She explained, "It was a challenge. I was acting as an asshole. To make it up to her I agreed to dress and act as a woman for a month. Turns out, she liked me better that way. And in a weird way, I liked myself better that way as well. Add to that a technical problem with the device she used to make me a girl and surgery was the only solution. We're meant for each other dad, it shouldn't matter if I'm a guy or a girl."

But her dad didn't give up right away. "But whom am I going fishing with now? Or to the ballgame? Your brother isn't going to. And we're in a bowling league in the winter."
Jade laughed. "You're kidding right? Just because I wear a skirt now I can't fish? I'll wear pants okay! Heck, it will be easier even, I lost at least 25 pounds, that little boat will hold us both again." She chuckled, thinking of the boat making water when JD started bulking up a few years ago.
"And", she continued, "we can still go to ballgames. Remember how you always looked at dads with their daughters in a sexy jersey. That'll be you now. I haven't  changed in that way dad. But I may need a new bowling ball, I lost some muscle mass in my arms. But that's all technique anyway, the strikes will still come."

Her dad smiled now, she knew she had won him over, but she went for the kill. "By the way, you're going to be a grandpa. Dee is pregnant with twins!"
"What?" He almost shouted. "When? How? Are you the eeehhh?"
Jade nodded. "JD is the father. But Jade will be the mother. And you're going to love them to death."

Her father started backtracking now. "I guess two girls together is not really gay right? It's not like two guys together. Having two mothers is probably a good thing right, for these kids."
Jade sighed, "Gay, lesbian, transgender. It's all the same dad. A lot of people will not understand and some may even be violent. I'm scared for Dee, scared for our kids, even scared for myself. We will need all the help and understanding we can get. Will you be on my side? On our side?"

Her dad knew she was right. People hate so easily what they don't understand. He himself had maybe not hated but he had been upset about what his son had done. Just the fact that he understood now did not mean that everybody else would agree. His son, no his daughter, would perhaps always be in danger from madmen. As were his grandkids and their mom. So he nodded, "I'll do anything I can to help you. Our home will always be a safe haven for you." And just like that he hugged his daughter and no longer did it feel awkward.

In the afternoon her brother came by. He only took one look at her, then said "Sorry!"
Jade smiled, they had never needed a lot of words between them and that had not changed. "Don't worry about it." she replied, "I understand."
"You look pretty damn good, babe." he said jokingly. "Thanks," Jade answered, "but being a woman now I can tell you that's a lousy pickup line. And one more thing. Please treat women with respect. When you date a woman don't do what I did. I thought only about myself. Make her feel like a queen and she'll give it back multiplied. You will not regret it."
Her brother nodded, "You were pretty obnoxious, yes. Sab and I worried about you. Glad that Dee fixed you up. True that I'm gonna be an uncle?"
Jade simply nodded, nothing more was needed.

That night was slightly better but the itch came back and they gave her a sedative again. Another surgery was up in the air if this would continue to kill some of the nerves in the area. Not an exact science with no guarantees.

Obviously she had had to send an email to her boss, explaining that she was to stay longer in the hospital. She had still signed as JD, not ready yet to face that hurdle. But she should have anticipated what followed. A "get better soon" card circulated the office and with still so many people working from home it was signed by everyone on site in just a matter of hours. And because JD was still in the hospital someone was sent to bring the card as well as a fruit basket.

It was Betty, one of the secretaries, who came looking for JD. And just like with her father she almost left again after seeing a woman in the bed. But Jade called her back, then had trouble explaining. "Hi Betty. Eeehhh. You recognize me?"
After that awkward greeting Betty looked closer and suddenly said "JD? Oh my God, is that you?"
Jade nodded, "It's Jade now. Thanks for coming by. Is that for me?" And she pointed at the basket. "Oh gosh, yes." Betty replied. "Sorry. And this too." And she handed Jade the card. Jade went through all the names and well wishes in the card. All addressed to JD of course. Even the owner of the company had signed.
"I can't believe this!" Betty said finally. "How did this get started?"
Jade wasn't sure how much she wanted to explain, so she stayed vague. "I had a medical condition in my crotch area. The surgery basically made me a woman."

Betty got interested. "My goodness, I drew the short straw to come here. But it feels like the long straw now."
Jade felt hurt by what she said, she asked "You didn't care much for JD then?"
Betty went in gossip mode now, talking with a fellow woman about a colleage. "Well, he was a bit of a dick, you know. Always calling us names behind our backs. You know he called me Betty.."
"Boobs", Jade finished her sentence. Only now Betty realized who she was talking to. Her face went pale. "I'm sorry" she stammered.

Jade shook her head. "I'm the one who's sorry. Not until I became a woman did I realize what a dick I was. It always seemed innocent fun, guys versus galls. I must have hurt many feelings. I'm really sorry, Betty."
"It's okay." Betty replied. "My name wasn't too bad. It was worse on Stella, she was always sniffing her own armpits because of the nickname you gave her. I think she'd appreciate a sorry from you. But I doubt if the rest of the guys care. You're one of us now."

They chatted some more and Jade realized that Betty could easily become a friend. And Betty seemed to think so too, complimenting her on her looks and hugging her when she left. "Can I tell the rest about you?" she asked on her way out. "Sure." Jade answered, thinking it may be easier to go back to the office if people knew.

That night the itch was no longer there and for the first time Jade got a good night's rest. If the following night was good too they would release her and she could recover at home.
Home turned out to be the city now. Dee had moved all their stuff to the mansion, as they called it. It would be easier to take care of Jade as Bonita had her studio at home and Sheila was in and out at her own convenience.

Jade and Dee had their own room but they knew the four of them would sleep together once things got normal again. At the end of the week Jade got an email from work. She was to report, in person, to HR a week from Monday, her first day back. She assumed to discuss the changes in her name and address and of course her gender.
Legally she had managed to change her first name to Jade. Changing gender turned out a bit more complicated but at least they started the process and the surgeon's affidavit would speed things up.

She was a bit worried about going to work again. What to wear? Obviously they had donated all her male clothes to the goodwill, apart from a few sports jerseys perhaps. But she had not purchased any female business outfits yet. Sheila had told her she could borrow one of her pantsuits but Jade felt that was not quite her style. So when she could move around again for a few hours in a row she collected Sabi for a trip to the mall. They did the salon first to update makeup, skin and nails. Then Victoria's Secret where she bought her sister a beautiful set of lingerie and she treated herself to a similar set. After that a new experience but luckily Sabi had bought a suit before in her junior year. They found a navy skirt suit with a silk white blouse that was timeless, professional but not over the top. But Jade felt powerful in it. She added shoes with a decent heel and a few accessories. Sabi said she looked magnificent and Jade believed her.

When Monday came Jade drove to work in her new suit and shoes but with her badge still showing her old face. She had timed it so she would be in Mr O'Connor's office at exactly 9am.
Mr O'Connor was waiting for her but the first thing he said was "Welcome back Mr Roberts." with emphasis on the mister part. When Jade replied she had her name legally changed and she was Ms Roberts now he said, "I don't think so. According to our records we hired JD Roberts, male. We may be able to change your name in the system but the gender field is fixed once it's entered. Which means you're expected in gender specific business attire and use the proper facilities. And I guess a haircut would be in order too."

"But I got rid of all my male clothes." Jade stammered, "Is there nothing we can do? Can't you create a new record in the system for me?"
"Well, that is an option, I guess" O'Connor replied, "but we would first have to terminate your current employment. And then we need to renegotiate the terms of your new function."
"What do you mean new function? Don't I get my old job back?"
"I'm afraid that's not possible Mr Roberts. That function is specifically fulfilled by men, as our customers find that more trustworthy in such a technical field. We may have a position available as a secretary or as a CSR. We have to determine if you qualify and of course the pay won't be the same. And either way we intend to revoke your upcoming vacation days, given the fact you were just off for two weeks."

"But... but you can't do that. I was off for medical reasons. That's my honeymoon you're taking away. My bride will be devastated!"
"Self inflicted medical reasons from what I understand. And you do realize that this company was founded on values and beliefs set by the owner's grandfather. These still hold very strong today and they leave no room for same gender marriages. You will have to make a choice, if that includes working here I suggest you cancel that wedding."
Jade couldn't believe what she heard, in this day of age.

"So I told him to kiss my ass" Jade told her friends later, not able to keep her tears away anymore. "And I quit."
"Good for you!" Bonita squeezed her hand, "That's no place to work."
"But listen" Jade continued, "I didn't have a lot of personal stuff in the office anymore since I've been working mostly from home lately. But they had it packed in a box for me already. So I had no chance at all in the first place but me quitting was best for them.

And that's not everything. When I packed the box in my car Betty came out. She was sorry, she saw them pack my stuff earlier so she figured it was her fault for telling about me. But I had told her before that she could. So we hugged and exchanged phone numbers. Fifteen minutes later she texted me. She was fired on the spot. For lesbian activities in the parking lot. It was all on camera, she said, and it looked like we were kissing."

Dee was spitting fire by now. "This is not right! We should sue them!"
Sheila stayed calm and replied "We should. But it's not going to do any good. And you expose yourself, all of us, to more ridicule. The whole wording about their beliefs and values is to use loopholes in the law against gender discrimination. Plenty of jury members would side with the company, just because you're transgender. And lesbian on top of that. Bonita and I have gone through some of that already. Why else do you think we each have our own business? Places like where Dee is working, where they embrace who and what she is, are hard to find, so we're better off to create our own place."

"Talking about that", Bonita followed up, "I have considered hiring an assistant who could model as well. You're pretty enough Jade and you may make a statement in the fashion world."

Bonita was right. Despite having no experience in modeling, with Bonita's coaching Jade became a star and a fashion statement, being transgender and a mom of two beautiful girls. Her old company had to file for bankruptcy after Jade released her first book telling all on how she became a supermodel and supermom. She was invited by many talkshows on national TV. Betty's lawsuit against her firing got the media's attention and she was rewarded a multimillion dollar verdict.

So maybe it did end up being a fairytale. But not without shedding tears. And Jade was lucky that her family eventually supported her. How many in her situation have gone without support from family, misunderstood by society, discarded by their workplace and churches even, not protected by weak laws, bullied, molested and some killed even?

And that is in a country where everyone is free and with the right to pursue happiness. How many countries are there where the government can lock you up, and "treat" you, just for being gay or transgender?

This world still has a long way to go...
