Nine months into the pandemic there finally was a vaccine. They only tried it out on a small group but it beat every expectation and in good American fashion we went all out with it. Millions of Americans were vaccinated in the first round and skeptical as I was at first, I have to say, it did way more than just dealing with Covid19.

It took care of heart diseases, lung problems, cancers, alzheimer, anxieties, obesity, drug addiction and even aging. A wonder drug indeed. The second and third rounds were just as successful and with a third of the population vaccinated we were already considered the healthiest nation in the world.

In three months time Covid19 was gone and hospitals empty. That was perhaps the only downside, as many of our heroes were let go, simply because there was no need anymore for so many health care facilities. Only the basics for broken bones, car accidents etc.

Our vaccine quickly conquered the world as well, making our country extremely rich and the economy booming again after so many months of misery. But it also became apparent there was an unanticipated side effect. No pregnancies had been reported since the start of the vaccination. Of course this was hushed in the beginning as not to interfere with our biggest export product right now. But investigations took place on how the original tests were performed and how the vaccine was created in the first place.

This resulted in some scary observations. Part of the "ingredients" in the vaccine formula was a meteorite that had recently fallen from the sky. It made it impossible to duplicate the vaccine in foreign labs.
When testing the first test group again they all were still extremely healthy, not even infertile, but not one pregnancy. Three couples who had tried had found that even IV fertilization had failed multiple times.

Now worried, investigators tried to stop the spread of the vaccine through the rest of the world but it was too late. The desire to be rid of so many diseases that for so long have controlled our lives outweighed the perceived problem of infertility.

And then, 500 days after the first dose of vaccine was injected, everything changed. It actually started as a global desire to express thanks that the pandemic was over, all pandemics really, as were almost all killer diseases. Governments all across the world organized Global Health Day, a recognition how the world had changed, free of drug dealers and unhealthy habits. People would all hold hands across the world, something that was never allowed during the pandemic, in what would be the largest display of common unity ever recorded.

All traffic was stopped, no planes in the air, not one person in bed in the countries where it was dark, not one person at work where it was daytime. Not one country was excluded, it was a moment of total global awareness of how the human race survived a global threat. I remember holding hands with two people I didn't know, yet we were equally astonished about the power, the thrill that went through us, I still believe I could feel the whole world vibrate.

And then the change overcame us all. Everyone. No one excluded except for maybe a few women who did not receive the vaccine because they were pregnant. Or the few people who refused the vaccine for religious reasons but believe me, there were not many after most religious leaders had called the vaccine as God sent.

I remember still the one minute of my change, I had closed my eyes and couldn't open them again. I gasped and heard many gasps around me. It wasn't painful, not at all, but a weird pressure all throughout my body and when I finally managed to open my eyes, I was a woman, as was the man whose hand I had been holding. And the woman I was holding in my other hand was now male and handsome at that.

And we were all dark skinned, like what you would get if you mixed every race together. No matter where I looked I saw women in men's clothes and men in female attire. But everyone was beautifully dark skinned. Later we found out that this was the case all over the world, no matter what the original race was. Only one race was left. And one language as well. I didn't know it at first until I looked at the man I was still holding on to and told him "You're mine". And he nodded and we walked hand in hand to his home.

I had only one thing on my mind, not what happened, not why am I a woman, not what race am I or what language is it that I'm speaking. Not even what was happening to all these other people that were pairing up and leaving hand in hand. All I could think of was to mate with this man, make him mine for life and have his children.

The moment we reached his home, his bed, we were out of our clothes and I let him take me. It was as foreign to him as it was for me, but we knew it was right and when I felt his seed in me I knew I was pregnant. Billions of women like me were pregnant at the same time. It was the best feeling I ever experienced.

One of the things we both knew was that we had mated for life. I would only open for him and he could only get ready for me. He named me Rowena and I named him Boris. We didn't need last names. This was his apartment but there were only female clothes. Most fitted my new frame and I loved dressing sexy for him. I suddenly felt pain in my calves and it would only go away by wearing the highest heels. I would never wear flats again.

Since I was dressed I left our home with some extra clothes. I knocked on the neighbor's door and they welcomed me in their home. I felt an immediate connection with them and we kissed intimately. The beautiful woman looked happy at the clothes I had for her and she gave me some of her husband's clothes. She put the heels on that I had brought as well and I saw a relieved look on her face. I promised we'd meet up later again once Boris was dressed more properly and left with the clothes for my man.

Well, I'm not sure how to explain all the changes in the world. The closer the people around you the more intimate friends they became. But even towards people you didn't know there was trust. Trust went beyond borders, even borders that were enemy lines only years ago. There was a sort of global conscious of unity, a world where everyone was welcome.

People still went to their jobs as they had before the change. But pregnant women make different decisions compared to the uncaring men they once were.
There were also an enormous amount of people on the move, if too many men lived in a particular area they moved to areas with an overpopulation of women, or vice versa. Over time things evened out and more happy couples mated for life. Due to all these movements borders started to fade and a global government started to form.

While the world prepared for an unprecedented amount of newborns just months away, it finally became clear what started the original virus. It was a meteorite as well, thoroughly experimented on in a lab in former China. Comparing that rock and the one that was used for the vaccine it became clear that both had the same origin. More and more a global acceptance took place that perhaps our current predicament was due to extraterrestrial interference.

Only a few years ago such a discovery, which such a conclusion, would have governments preparing for war, getting their nukes aimed at each other or at outer space. But no such thing today. The world instead prepared to meet ET's. Space technology took off with the whole world working together. People were volunteering to colonize other planets and manned space probes were launched deep into our galaxy, searching for the "aliens" that managed to finally unite the people on our precious planet Earth.
