"Good morning, angel! Time to get up!"
Sierra yawned, smiling as she stared out between the bars of her crib at her Mommy. "Morning!" she chirped, sitting up.
"How did you do last night?" Mommy asked. "Are you wet?"
"Uh-huh!" Sierra nodded, giggling, poking at the sodden diaper around her waist, which was the only thing she was wearing. "Of course I did!" It was a silly question, but Mommy was kind of silly sometimes. As far as Sierra could recall, she'd never, ever woken up dry, so why would she today?
"Wow, you certainly did," Mommy chuckled, giving the diaper a pat. "Maybe we ought to start double-diapering you for bed, huh?"
"Maybe," Sierra shrugged. It wasn't really up to her, of course, although she could help squirming at the thought of getting to wear even bigger diapers. She thought she'd done a good job hiding her preference, since she wanted to let Mommy decide on her own, but she should have known there was no fooling Mommy.
"All right, we'll do that from now on," she said, picking up Sierra and carrying her over to the changing table. "How did you sleep last night, sweetie?"
Sierra blushed as Mommy started to untape her diaper and clean her up, not because of that, obviously, since it happened all the time. "I had those weird dreams again, Mommy," she pouted. "I had a wand, and I was running around using magic, and..."
"Those are just dreams," Mommy told her. "We've been over this, haven't we? Magic isn't real, is it?"
"No, Mommy," Sierra shook her head. "They just seem so real, and they make me feel funny."
"I know, baby," Mommy kissed her on the forehead. "Have they been getting any better, at least?"
"Uh-huh," Sierra nodded. They'd really been vivid at first, but Mommy had been helping her, and now they were starting to get fuzzier and fainter. They still bothered her, but it was much easier to remember they were only dreams, anyway.
"I'm glad," Mommy said, sliding a fresh diaper under Sierra's bottom, sprinkling her with plenty of powder. "Now, today is a special day. Do you remember why?"
"Umm..." Sierra frowned, thinking as hard as she could while Mommy taped up her diaper. "Oh! It's Mommy's Day! I'm sorry! Happy Mommy's Day!" Mommy couldn't have timed it better, as she finished fastening the diaper right on time for Sierra to sit up and give her a big hug.
"Thank you, sweetheart," Mommy smiled, hugging her back. "But it's also the day I told you about, when I was having friends over. Do you remember that?" Sierra nodded, but it was clearly unconvincing. "Are you fibbing?"
Sierra blushed, staring down at her feet, swinging beneath her as she sat on the edge of the changing table. "Sorry, Mommy."
"It's okay," she said seriously. "Just remember, lying is something bad girls do. You always have to be honest with Mommy."
"I will," Sierra promised.
"Good girl," Mommy smiled again, cheering Sierra back up instantly, knowing she wasn't in trouble. "Company means you can't just run around in your diaper, though."
"Aww," Sierra pouted. Clothes could be so hot and constricting, and she liked being able to look down and see her big, poofy diaper whenever she wanted!
"Don't worry," Mommy chuckled. "I think you'll like this." Mommy opened a drawer in the changing table, pulling out a shirt. "Do you know what this says?" she asked.
"Moooommy!" Sierra whined, bouncing in place. "You know I can't read! School is dumb and boring, and I didn't wanna go, so you didn't make me!"
"Oh, silly me," Mommy grinned. "I forgot. Do you know what this is, though?"
She pointed to the first letter of the last word. Sierra sighed, hoping this wasn't going to turn into a silly reading lesson, when she perked up at what she saw there. Floating over the letter was a golden ring. She giggled, looking above her head, where she saw the same thing, hovering over her, like it always did.
"That's right!" Mommy said. "It's a Halo! This says 'Mommy's Little Angel'. And that's what you are, isn't it?" Sierra nodded eagerly. "This must have been made just for you, then!"
Sierra grinned as the woman pulled the shirt over her head, feeling proud to look down on it now. It really wasn't that bad, either, since it was too short to even cover her belly button, much less her diaper. Mommy lifted her down off the changing table, and Sierra gladly took her hand, happily toddling next to her down the hall and into the living room, where, indeed, a lot of Mommy's friends were sitting around to coo and gush over how adorable she was.
"Go on," Mommy urged, pushing Sierra forward, "wave and say hi."
"Hi!" Sierra chirped, waving.
"Good girl. You can play now, while the grown-ups talk." Sierra plopped down on the floor, where Mommy had laid out some blocks and dolls to keep her busy. She happily planted one thumb in her mouth and picked up a doll, giggling as she listened to her diaper crinkling beneath her.
"Well, then," Mommy spoke to her friends. "I'd say the results speak for themselves, don't you, ladies? You saw the videos of her before, and the video feed from the nursery just now. Quite the difference, wouldn't you say?"
"Very impressive," one of the other women said.
"Sure," another cut her. "But how do we know she isn't some actress you hired?"
"I suppose I can't prove that," Mommy admitted. "This could all be one big hoax. She'd have to be a very gifted actress, though, and very willing to do anything. For example, Sierra, why don't you give your aunties all a kiss on the cheek like a good girl?"
Sierra had been enjoying her time with her dolly, but she quickly scrambled to her feet with an, "Okay, Mommy!" and toddled to the closest woman, getting up on her tiptoes to kiss the woman on the cheek, squealing with delight as she got a pat on the diaper in return. She made her rounds, ending with Mommy herself, then went back to playing.
"So, it's just brainwashing?" one of the woman asked.
"It's so much more than that," Mommy shook her head. "Here, let me show you. Sierra, dear, wasn't there something you were preparing for today, sweetie?"
"Oh!" Sierra blushed, feeling dumb to have forgotten about it until now. "Sorry, Mommy! I'm so silly sometimes!"
"I know you are," Mommy smiled. "It's all right. You can go get ready now."
Sierra waddled back to her nursery, heading right for the closet, where her tutu and the angel wings Mommy had bought her for this were stashed. She returned to the living room, where Mommy had moved her toys to the side to give her plenty of room. "Okay, angel," Mommy grinned. "Do your very best for us, okay?"
"Okay, Mommy!" Sierra agreed. She'd seen some videos of ballerinas, who were all so pretty and tall and grown-up, and she was pretty sure she could do just as well. She got up on her toes, spinning around, jumping every now and then, giggling as she watched her tutu flutter.
"That's so good!" Mommy praised her, taking out her phone. "How many lessons have you taken?"
"Mommy," Sierra giggled, glad she wasn't being the silly one this time. "You know I never had any!" Her eyes widened as she heard the faint hum of the Halo above her, and felt her arms starting to move on their own, going into a perfect imitation of a ballerina's stance, her legs following suit. Mommy was tapping away on her phone, Sierra's Aunties all watching in wonder as Sierra's body took over, moving with no input from her, giving a beautiful performance. That was one part of the Halo Sierra didn't like as much. It was always weird, feeling it controlling her like that, as if she was nothing more than a puppet, or a doll.
"Complete control," Mommy spoke up, although Sierra could tell she wasn't talking to her. "With the app, you can make her do anything you want. Of course, it would be quite a nuisance to do this all the time. Which is why the next function is so useful."
She did a few more taps, and the Halo's hum turned more intense. For a moment, Sierra was back in those awful dreams, wearing big girl panties, and clothes, and living on her own, which seemed very scary. But then Mommy was there, bursting in the front door.
"Who the heck are you?" the dream Sierra asked, although Sierra remembered, when the dreams had first started, it had been a much naughtier word. "What are you doing here?!"
"You were very easy to find," Mommy told her. "You're very careless with your magic. Yes, I know about that. Go on, get your wand, little girl. Let's see how well it fares against technology."
As quickly as it had started, it ended, and Sierra was back in the real world, shaking her head. Mommy smiled, making a show of setting her phone down. "That's not all, is it, honey? Isn't there more to your dance?"
"Oh, yeah!" Sierra nodded, going back to her dance. It was so weird, thinking Mommy was controlling her before. Why would she need to do that? Dancing was so easy! Sierra glided through the steps, barely hindered at all by her bulky diaper, ending with a deep curtsy while her Aunties applauded.
"How long did you say you'd been going to lessons?" Mommy asked.
"Since I was four!" Sierra held up four fingers to demonstrate. It was tough, sometimes, when the other girls made fun of her diapers, but dancing was so much fun, she didn't mind.
"That's right," Mommy said. "Okay, you can take off your costume now. You did wonderfully."
Sierra needed a little help, but, soon enough, she was back in her shirt and diaper, and heading to fetch her toys, now off to one side of the room.
"And, sure, we could have worked all that out in advance, too," Mommy told her friends. "You saw how she reacted in the videos to using her diapers, though. Do you think that could have been faked?" The other women agreed with how realistic it was. "Uh-oh!" Mommy said loudly, in a sing-songy tone Sierra was very familiar with. "Is somebody making me another Mommy's Day present?"
Sierra stopped in place, bending over to get her dolly, knowing exactly what Mommy meant. Without hesitation, she started to push, letting out little grunts as her knees bent a bit more. This was what Mommy wanted, and she loved to give Mommy what she wanted. This, especially, gave her a warm, happy, tingly feeling that made her feel good in a weird way she didn't really understand, but liked a lot anyway. She squatted, feeling her diaper swell up and expand around her.
"Such a sweet girl!" Mommy praised, once Sierra had completely emptied herself into her diaper. "Why don't you show your Aunties how well you did?" Sierra marched around the room, allowing all Mommy's friends to give her loaded diaper a pat, giggling as she felt it squish. "Did you see that?" Mommy asked them. "No hesitation whatsoever. You can link things they're really stubborn about to the pleasure center of their brains, and, in no time, they'll be begging you to let them do it."
Once Sierra had made her rounds once more, she picked up her doll, carrying it back to the center of the room and sitting down, giggling as her messy diaper squelched between her legs, bouncing a little to feel it happen again.
"Do you want a change, sweetie?" Mommy asked.
"No, Mommy, you should keep talking with your friends," Sierra told her. "I don't wanna interrupt!"
"Of course you don't," Mommy smiled. "But, Sierra, I need to ask you something." Sierra looked up at her, eyes widening as she saw the app open on Mommy's phone, a big, red frowny face with scary horns staring out at her. "Did you touch your Halo last night?"
Sierra popped her thumb back into her mouth, sucking hard. There was no point in lying, since the app had clearly recorded it. It always did, as if shocking her when she touched it wasn't enough. "Yes, Mommy," she admitted.
"It didn't feel good, did it?" Mommy asked, and Sierra shook her head. "And," she showed the other women, "you can see exactly when it happens, and get a notification. You can react to it right away, no matter how far away you are, but I decided to wait this time, so I could show all you ladies."
Mommy began to use her phone, Sierra squirming nervously in her messy diaper as she watched, then heard the Halo start to hum once more. Suddenly, she was back in the dream.
In it, the dream Sierra had the Halo over her head, where it belonged, her eyes darting around wildly as she sweated, trying so hard to move, yet not accomplishing anything.
Mommy was holding the dream Sierra's wand, smiling. "That was even easier than I expected," she said. "Almost disappointing, to be honest. But that's all right. Honestly, you're even more perfect than I thought. I just planned on taking your wand, but I think you would be the perfect test subject. You're so cute, I might even make you the face of the project. You'd be great for demonstrations, and especially commercials. What do you think? I can have your face all over TV. Don't you want everyone will know you're Mommy's Little Angel?"
"Let me go!" the dream Sierra growled. "You can't...!"
Before she could finish, or Mommy could respond in the dream, Sierra woke herself back up, glancing down with momentary confusion as she noticed she'd wet herself. She didn't mind, but she didn't remember doing it. In fact, as she squirmed, she realized she was still going.
"Sierra," Mommy said, "why don't you tell everyone why you wear diapers? You remember, don't you?"
Of course she did! The memory was so fresh, it could have happened yesterday! "Mommy wanted to potty train me," she said, "but I thought it was really boring, and I didn't like it, so Mommy said I could just stay in diapers forever, because she's the best Mommy!"
"So, you've never been potty trained?" Mommy asked.
"Of course not!" Sierra giggled. "Who else would have done it if you didn't?"
"You've never worn big girl panties, or even trainers?" Mommy continued.
"Eww, no!" Sierra wrinkled her nose. "Those are gross!"
"Yes, they are," Mommy agreed. "All right, I think we really are done, angel. Go on, you can play."
Sierra did as she was told, as always, cheerfully playing in the middle of the floor, not giving a second thought to the fact that her well-used diaper was on full display. That's how it had always been, after all!
She wasn't really paying attention, since they were using lots of big, confusing words, but one thing did make her glance up for a moment. "But how does it work?" one of her Aunties had asked.
"I can't give away all my secrets," Mommy winked. "But it's a little science, and a little magic. You have to have both. I had a prototype that used magnetic waves to allow me to control the movement of a subject, like you saw earlier, but it's the magic that lets me manipulate memories."
That was weird, Sierra thought. Mommy always told her magic wasn't real, so why would she say that? If magic was real, then were the dreams, too, somehow? She'd seen herself doing so many different things, going on lots of crazy adventures, and, when the dreams had started, they'd felt so realistic. Could Mommy possibly be lying about them?
But no, Mommy would never do that. It must be grown-up stuff she didn't understand. And that was okay, she didn't need to. All she had to worry about was doing as Mommy told her, and she was very, very good at that.
"Rest assured," Dr. Cabot told her investors, "this isn't something anyone else will be able to duplicate. Anyone who's having problems with disobedient children, or a disloyal spouse, or anything like that, can turn it all around with this, for the right price, of course. Sierra here will be our spokesperson, and I think you'll all agree she'll be perfect for the job." She grinned, bending down to give Sierra a pat on the diaper. "As soon as people see her, they'll all want their own Little Angel, even if they'll never be quite as good as mine."
