"How is that, little Mathilda~?" Ms. Emily asked with a smile.
Matti wanted nothing more than to tell the woman the truth, that she had hated every single bite of the warm, mushy oatmeal that had been shoveled into her mouth, but she knew better than to do that. The poor, picky eater had turned away automatically when she'd been offered the first spoonful, without thinking, which had automatically earned her a second bowl of the stuff, and as soon as she'd tasted it on her tongue, and remembered why she despised the stuff so much, she'd wrinkled her nose and gagged a little, which had gotten her a third. By now, when she'd managed to gulp it all down, doing her best to show no reaction, she was absolutely stuffed. It may have been her imagination, but she felt like her tummy had grown to accommodate all that goop, swelling slightly against the waistband of her diaper.
Her diaper. It was so strange to think that, still. Just a day ago, the thought of diapers would never even have crossed her mind, not until she'd found that doll, and did a bit of digging. Now, she was absolutely obsessed with them, which was handy, because she'd wound up trapped here, in some sort of Interdimensional Daycare, getting a crash course in things that she'd been curious about when she'd seen them in stories, had daydreamed about happening to her, but that she wasn't sure she was ready to experience for herself.
And the result of all this oatmeal was definitely one of those things. The idea of messing her diaper was so humiliating, probably one of the most embarrassing things she could imagine, and that did turn her on a bit, but that didn't mean she was prepared to try it out first-hand. But, from the start, she'd been immediately thrust into the middle of all this, hours after her first time learning about it.
"I-It was, umm..." Matti squirmed in her soggy diaper, nibbling on her thumbnail nervously.
"Tsk, tsk," Ms. Emily gently, but firmly, swatted her hand away. "That's a dirty habit, young lady. Do I need to give you a paci to keep your mouth busy?"
"N-No, ma'am," Matti shook her head. Honestly, a pacifier seemed like one of the more innocuous things that the woman could do to her here, but Matti was trying to get away from here before this oatmeal worked its way through her, not experience more of the daycare lifestyle! She needed to get back to college!
"You'd better not let me catch you doing it again, then!" Ms. Emily chirped, making the threat sound quite cheerful, although Matti had no doubt that it was, indeed, a threat. "Now, what were you saying?"
"I-It was good," Matti said simply, having enough distance from the original question now to trick herself into saying it, and making it sound at least somewhat honest. "Th-Thank you, ma'am."
"You're very welcome~!" Ms. Emily beamed. "Do you want more?"
Matti paled, feeling like she'd just wandered into a trap. How was she supposed to answer that?! If she said no, would she be deemed fussy, and get another bowl anyway?! She couldn't say yes and risk being given one that way, not when she already felt like she was about to burst, but if she was going to get one either way, wasn't it better to be seen as sweet and obedient?
Ms. Emily chuckled, reaching past the high chair's tray to give Matti's bloated tummy a pat, the girl groaned and wriggling in place at the contact. "I'm only teasing," she confessed. "I can't imagine there's any more room in there! Unless you've already made some?" Ms. Emily picked her up, lifting her out of the high chair and setting her down on the floor, spinning her around to push up the skirt of her dress and tug out the waistband. "Nope, still only wet, and not enough to warrant a change. But I have a feeling that isn't going to last long, is it?"
Ms. Emily spun her right back around, Matti feeling a bit dizzy from all of it, and from the way she felt as Ms. Emily knelt down, staring her right in the eye, making it clear that she was very aware of what she'd done by giving her all that oatmeal. "I-I can use the bathroom," Matti sniffed. "I-I'm a big girl."
"Oh, is that so?" Ms. Emily smirked. "Then why are you here, sweetie?"
"I-I'm not s'posed to be!" Matti insisted. "It was a mistake!"
"I don't think so," Ms. Emily told her, tickling Matti's tummy, which was even more sensitive than usual now, making it impossible for her not to giggle, despite how serious she knew the situation was. "It looks like you're right where you belong! So I'd better not hear you calling yourself that again, young lady, until a real grown-up decides it's accurate. Now, why don't you go play? I have other babies who need to eat."
Ms. Emily sent Matti in the direction of the play room with a swat on her bottom, right below her diaper, where her skin was still pink from her recent spanking, getting a squeal from the girl as she rubbed the spot with a pout, stumbling away, nearly losing her balance as she tried to get away from the woman. "Be careful!" Ms. Emily called after her. "You can always crawl if you're not used to walking yet!"
Matti could walk just fine, usually, but she was not used to heels at all, or to dresses, especially ones as short as this. She hated that kind of girly stuff, which made it all the worse that she was stuck here in this place, dressed like this. She waddled slowly back to the playroom, pausing once or twice as her tummy cramped, the speed with which it was happening not encouraging in the slightest.
What was she going to do?! How was she going to get out of this?! She had no idea where this place was, but, from everything she'd heard, she had to assume it was in a completely different dimension than home. She'd only gotten here in the first place using a spellbook that she barely knew how to use, and even that had transformed into a picture book when she'd arrived.
Still, that was her best bet, wasn't it? A quick, or quick as possible in heels, trip around the room revealed that all of the doors leading out, other than the one that went to the feeding room she'd just come out of, were locked tight, and it didn't seem like she was going to be able to talk reason into Ms. Emily to change her mind about her belonging here. There was a chance there was still some magic left in the book, maybe enough to get her out of here, if she was lucky.
The only problem was that she had no idea where the book was, or even what it looked like anymore. Ms. Emily had taken it from her and put it on one of the bookshelves before she could get a good look at the cover, or, rather, when she was too distracted to think to do that. She'd been so overwhelmed, she had no clue which of the bookshelves that had been, even. All she could do was toddle her way to the nearest one, grab a handful of books, and plop down on her padded bottom to start looking through them.
What a complete baby she must look like, she thought with a blush. Sitting there, legs splayed by her soggy double diapers, furiously flipping through picture books, too fast for her to even be reading the small bits of text they had in them, like someone so young she could only enjoy the pictures. She didn't know what to look for, how to tell when she found the right one, but she was hoping it would become obvious to her at some point, as she groaned and squirmed, the fullness in her tummy growing worse and worse, a ticking bomb that could go off at any moment.
There was no time to be neat about it, or to clean up after herself. That was made very clear to her after she'd exhausted her options at the first bookshelf, and waddled her way to the second, and stood up to grab her fourth armload of books from it. Immediately, she felt a push, heard a soft groan coming from her own mouth, and then noticed a sticky smear forming in the seat of her diaper.
"No!" she gasped, sitting right back down, feeling the tiny lump that had already formed flattening out, spreading that icky, messy feeling further. She bit down hard on her bottom lip, focusing everything into stopping it, shocked at how much of a struggle it really was, after so little time. Thankfully, she succeeded, though it was still a harrowing experience to stand back up afterwards, making her hold her breath until she was back on her feet, wiggling her bottom, cheeks red as she felt the diaper sticking to it in a way it hadn't before. She hadn't messed herself, exactly, but it had definitely been an accident, and it wasn't accurate to call her pants clean anymore either.
"This is hopeless!" she sulked. There were so many books here! How was she ever going to find the right one?! And what if she'd already found it, and not recognized it?! There was no way for her to know for sure! She started to bite her nails again, despair washing over her, making her start to wonder if it might be better to just squat down and let it go, to at least get rid of the pain in her belly.
And then, at last, she spotted it, a couple shelves above where she'd been looking. Right away, she knew that had to be it, just from the title, even before she yanked it off the shelf, sending a couple books around it tumbling to the floor in her panic.
'Don't Use the Potty, Mathilda!' the cover declared, above a picture of what was clearly a cutesy, chibi version of her standing beside a pink potty chair, arms folded and face pouty, clearly refusing to use it, as the diaper she was wearing was obviously meant to be wet. Matti's suspicions had been right, and the book felt different than the others, almost like it was putting off some slight static.
When she opened it up, however, there was no trace of the spells that had been there before. Instead, there were more pictures of the little version of herself, turning her nose up at the potty, tucked into a crib, and, most embarrassingly, doing what she'd been half contemplating a few moments ago, with text that made it clear this wasn't a potty training book in disguise. It was exactly what the title made it sound like, with text like, 'Don't use the potty, Mathilda! You know using your diaper is so much more fun!' and 'You can go play some more! Your diaper has plenty of room! Go ahead and push again to see! Look at your diaper grow even more! What a clever girl!' and 'You know you need your diapers overnight, Mathilda, so what's the harm in wearing them during the day, too? Aren't they comfy? That's why you can't keep your hands off them in your crib at night, isn't it?' and, most pointedly for her current situation, 'Go ahead and push, Mathilda. Squat down and feel your diaper fill. Isn't that nice? Now sit down and feel it squish!'
How was she supposed to use this?! She didn't even want to look at it, her whole body feeling like it was glowing with humiliation at the sight of it. She closed it, hugging it to her chest and shutting her eyes, struggling to recall the portal spell that had led her here, and to the world where she'd met the real Sierra. It didn't seem like she had much control over where that took her, but if it got her out of here, she could figure out what to do afterwards. And maybe the book would change back to a spellbook outside of the daycare? She had to hope for the best.
She'd only said them twice before, and they were words she wasn't familiar with, but she was pretty sure she had them right. When she whispered them, however, nothing seemed to happen, except for a tap on her shoulder.
"Mathilda," Ms. Emily said sternly, Matti shrinking back as she opened her eyes and found the woman glaring at her, "I think we'd better have a little talk in my office about this mess you've made, young lady."
Matti gulped, looking around the daycare she was still standing in the middle of, and the piles of books she'd left scattered around on the floor, no closer to home, or to preventing the impending disaster in her diaper. "S-Sorry?" she said with a sheepish shrug.
"You will be," Ms. Emily promised, grabbing her by the hand and dragging her across the floor. "I can promise you that."
