"What does this one do?" Matti asked, staring at one of the pages of the book. "Can we try it?" She had no idea what had drawn her to that one, specifically. Each individual page was just as cryptic as the last to her, but this spell, for some reason, had attracted her to it as she flipped through the book, distracting herself.
It was hard to call it a distraction, really, since she was interested in it. There were other things she was interested in, too, of course, and as much as she'd like to investigate those, instead, she didn't want Sierra to see it. At least this, she thought, Sierra would be more accepting of if she showed a little curiosity.
She scooted the book towards Sierra, letting the tiny witch see it, then invitingly turned to the blank page after she'd glanced at it, and turned back to staring towards the picnic blanket they'd set up. 'Not right now,' the reply came, fast enough to let Matti know that Sierra was getting annoyed with her pestering.
"Okay," Matti nodded. She knew the girl had other things on her mind, whatever those may be. "What is it, though? Could I try it on my own?"
'It doesn't matter,' Sierra told her. 'You do have a spark of magic, but without me working with you to focus it, it isn't going to be able to do much.'
"Really?" Matti's eyes widened. She had hoped there was more to all this than Sierra just using her to cast spells through, but she hadn't wanted to get her hopes up. Even in her own world, where, as far as she knew, magic wasn't really a thing, she'd had a spark! Maybe that was why she'd been attracted to Sierra's doll box? Maybe Sierra, after they got everything fixed, could even teach her a few things! It would definitely be fun to have a couple spells up her sleeve for the next time Kelsey pestered her.
For now, though, Sierra didn't respond, clearly concentrating on their stake-out. Matti knew she probably should, too, but she didn't know what she was looking for, and it was a small enough space that it would be unlikely for Sierra to miss anything that happened on it. She left the book open, in case Sierra needed to tell her anything else, and finally let her attention wander to the thing that had really been nagging at the back of her mind.
Her face went red, seeing the package of diapers, still mostly full, sitting there, her bag draped over it, yet doing nothing to hide it. It would have been so easy for somebody to walk by and see it there! And if they'd caught a glimpse of plastic poking out from the waistband of her skirt, or from underneath, surely they'd know that they were for her, if there would have been any doubt anyway.
She wanted to suggest that she could go and change herself into one of them, get out of her wet diaper and into a dry one, but she was too embarrassed to bring it up. If she took her old diaper off, there wasn't that good of an excuse for her to not just go commando, the light breeze unlikely to cause a problem for her either way. And she couldn't expect Sierra, who had been through so much in regards to these things, to understand her curiosity about this.
At full size, the package of diapers wouldn't fit into her bag, even with one out and sitting on the picnic blanket. She didn't know what the plan was here, if they'd need the others, and she didn't want to ask, either, for one thing, because she didn't want to interrupt Sierra again, and for another, because she didn't want to be told no, since it would then be very strange for her to do what she did next, rather than throwing them all away.
And that would have been such a waste. Matti bit down on her bottom lip as she pulled one of them out of the package, feeling that bulkiness again, and the slickness of the plastic. She hadn't held the diaper that was put onto her at the nurse's office, but she was positive this one was bigger, thicker, more babyish. She really wanted to unfold it and run her hand over the inside, see what that was like, but that was definitely going too far, right next to Sierra, not to mention out in the middle of a park, even if they were slightly hidden under a nice, big tree.
Instead, she slid the diaper into her bag, following it up with another, then another, giggling softly to herself at the realization that her messenger bag could now undeniably be called a diaper bag. Free of their package, so that she could arrange them however she wanted, she was able to stuff almost all of them inside, though that left little room for the book, or Sierra. It was just diapers, as if that was all she needed, and as if she really did need them, to be carrying so many of them around for just a trip to the park.
Matti squirmed, imagining her trying to make her way out of this place, having the flap of her bag somehow fly up, showing everyone what she had inside. Even if they didn't hear her crinkling, or notice any extra bulk under her skirt, after they saw that, they'd know what she was wearing, and that, no doubt, she must need them. They'd all know what a big baby she was, and, from what she knew about Sierra's world, there was a good chance they'd decide to take matters into their own hands and give her a change, finding her soggy diaper to confirm their suspicions.
She shook her head, trying to drive those thoughts away. She didn't have time for that now! She needed to be focused! That was very hard, though, when there was still one diaper sitting out, taunting her. Only one, like it was meant to be, and she was supposed to change herself into it. The bathrooms weren't that far away, really. It probably wouldn't help that she'd never put a diaper onto another person before, but she had seen some videos today, and saw the nurse do it, so how hard could it be?
"H-Hey," she said with a nervous chuckle, trying very hard to play this off like it wasn't a big deal, and, she was sure, failing miserably. "I-I was thinking..."
'It's almost time,' the book warned her. 'Be ready.'
"Y-Yeah, of course," Matti nodded, glad she hadn't gotten any further, but still disappointed.
She was able to jam the outer plastic of the package in between two of the diapers, wanting to remember what they were called in case she liked them, so she could see if, perhaps, they existed on her world when she got back, but she still had that one spare diaper, that, try as she might, she couldn't find room for. She was able to lay it on top of the others, but it was precarious, keeping the flap from being able to fasten shut, threatening to come tumbling out if she wasn't careful about her movement.
She was still trying to decide if that was worth it when she felt a tug on her sleeve, a very annoyed-looking Sierra glaring at her, pointing to the book, which read, 'Now! Get us down there now!'
"Oh, sorry!" Matti exclaimed, scrambling to her feet, throwing the bag over her shoulder. She couldn't believe she'd let herself get so distracted with diapers, of all things! She tucked the book under her arm, and picked up Sierra, not bothering to explain why they weren't going into her bag, hoping that the witch hadn't noticed how obsessed she'd been about making sure none of the diapers would go to waste. She hurried across the park, trying to keep her bag close to her with her elbow to keep that last diaper from falling out as they passed a couple other picnic blankets, until, finally, they reached theirs.
Matti could see the form lying there from a distance, of course, but it wasn't until she got a little closer that she started to recognize it, the sight of it making her mind reel. What was going on?! She thought it must be a mistake, though, as she got closer still, she glanced down at the shrunken witch in her hands, and the blonde teenager on the blanket, sucking her thumb, and they were definitely a match, besides the former being larger.
She looked exactly like she did in the pictures, other than being a real person. She mumbled softly in her sleep, rolling over, her diaper rustling. The shirt and sunhat that completed her outfit were adorable, though Matti could feel a mix of second-hand humiliation at the thought of being out in public wearing that, her diaper on full display, and the buzz of excitement at the same thought.
"Wh-Who is this?" she asked, kneeling down beside the bigger Sierra, setting the smaller one down. "Is this some kind of shapeshifter that stole your form or something?" That must be it, she thought. Or perhaps another witch who had done the same thing, then sent Sierra off to another world to keep her from interfering.
As she turned to look at the smaller Sierra, she could see her reach out for the wand Matti hadn't noticed, cast aside, partially under a pile of clothing. It was too big for the doll's hands to fit all the way around, but as soon as she touched it, it no longer mattered.
Instantly, the doll began to grow, and, as that happened, other things changed, too. Her feet weren't just getting larger, the Mary Janes were elongating, the shiny, black leather stretching up the girl's legs, to her knees, intricate laces sprouting from the front, a tall, thin heel growing from the back. The baby dress grew, ever so slightly, turning red and black, the neckline creeping down, showing off the girl's growing cleavage. The skirt was still barely long enough for the diaper to have been able to hide beneath, and, from the ground, Matti could still see up it easily, watch as it shrank into a pair of red underwear, as the girl's hair darkened from blonde to black, the bow in it changing from pink to blood red. The pacifier gag had vanished, and a pair of black, fingerless gloves appeared on her hands as she turned the wand, now firmly in her grasp, over, examining it. With a flick, it lengthened, darkened, turning into a black riding crop.
"Much better," she purred.
Matti gaped up at her, recognizing her instantly, and, at the same time, realizing what a huge mistake she'd made. "S-Serena?" she gulped, looking back at what she was now sure was the real Sierra, slumbering peacefully, and, even if she'd been awake, without a wand to defend herself, or Matti, with.
"Oh, yes," Serena smirked, glancing down at Matti, as if she'd forgotten all about her, as if she were so far beneath her that there was no reason to pay her any mind. "I suppose I ought to thank you, hmm? I really thought I was in for it that time. I was separated from her," she nodded to Sierra, "banished to another, magic-barren world in that humiliating shape, trapped. But even there, there were a few little sparks of magic."
"M-Me?" Matti asked dumbly.
"Yes, you were useful," Serena shrugged dismissively. "But that book was the big help. I just needed you to get me to it, and help me use it until I could get back here, and get my wand back. My original wand. I have such fun plans for this, and her." She giggled in a way that made Matti's skin crawl, though she couldn't help but wonder what those plans were. "Those will have to wait until I get back to my own time, unfortunately. I wouldn't want to do too much to her now, or I might never exist." She knelt down, stroking Sierra's hair, then opened up the book, ripping out the blank page, folding it in half and setting it on the picnic basket. "That doesn't mean I can't have a little fun, though."
"W-Wait, so you're not from this time?" Matti frowned.
"Hmm," Serena looked back over at her. "Maybe you do have a few brains in there after all."
"I-I do!" Matti blushed at being called stupid again. "I-I'm very smart!"
"Oh, are you?" Serena raised an eyebrow, making Matti squirm. She hadn't asked any questions, had just assumed she knew what was going on, and she'd led Serena right here and helped her disarm Sierra. "Yes, that spell took us not only back to my own world, but back in time. The poor little klutz would have lost this wand anyway, I just sped the process up a bit, because this one is so much better than the replacement she ends up with. Now, I guess I owe you a reward, don't I?"
Matti shook her head. This wasn't what she had meant to do at all! She didn't deserve any kind of reward! She had to find some way to stop this!
"You're right," Serena nodded. "You've already gotten what you want, haven't you?"
"H-Huh?" Matti's face warmed. "I-I don't know what..." Serena lifted Matti's skirt with her crop, the girl's eyes widening, an involuntary moan squeaking out of her as the witch gave the soggy diaper underneath a poke with the crop in just the right spot.
"Oh, I don't?" Serena mocked.
"N-No," Matti shook her head, pushing her skirt back down. "I-I don't..." She tried to deny what Serena was implying, scrambling to her feet, but the motion just made the loose diaper tumble out of her bag, falling onto the picnic blanket beside her.
"You don't want this?" Serena teased, flicking her crop, making the diaper float, unfolding itself. "Come on now, Matti, don't lie to yourself."
"I-I don't," Matti repeated, finding it harder and harder to make the words sound convincing as the diaper slid its way between her legs, floating up, over the layer of padding that was already there.
Serena grinned, leaning in closer to the girl, towering over her, thanks at least partly to her heels, making her feel so small, so helpless. "You don't fool me, Matti," Serena cooed. "I know exactly what you are."
Matti swallowed, her heart pounding. "I-I..." she started to protest again, her brain feeling so foggy, so confused, she wasn't sure what she would have said, even if Serena hadn't cut her off by pressing her mouth against hers, pulling her into a kiss.
Matti gasped, making a weak effort to pull away, failing completely. She could feel the second diaper fastening itself around her waist as she stood there, and could tell something else was going on, too. And she knew that she should make this stop, that she should be trying to stop Serena, not letting her do this, but she couldn't help herself.
When Serena at last pulled away, Matti was panting, her face beet red, even before she took a step backwards and nearly fell, prompting her to look down at herself and realize what had happened.
"Wh-What is this?!" she squealed. Gone was her schoolgirl outfit, but, unlike Serena's transformation, things had gone in another direction. She was now in a pink babydoll dress, with puffy sleeves and a Peter Pan collar, with enough lace and bows to make it clear it was meant for a toddler, if the rubber ducky on the front hadn't already done that. The skirt was short enough that her now doubled diaper was impossible to hide underneath it, and, even if it wasn't as obvious as the one Sierra was wearing, it was still quite obvious. Her socks had stretched upwards, thinning out as they went, turning into a pair of white tights, stretched taut over her diaper, no doubt with rows of ruffles across the back, and her sneakers had turned into a pair of cutesy heels with bows on the toes, and straps winding around her ankles.
She hated every bit of it. She hated pink, she hated dresses, she hated tights, and she really hated heels, having only really tried to walk in them once or twice, at her mother's request, before deciding she was never going to bother with them again. Serena had turned her into some girly-girl little toddler, and she hated it!
But, at the same time, she loved it. She could feel her breath quickening as she imagined being seen back on campus like this, toddling around, all of her guy friends seeing her this way. And Kelsey and the other cheerleaders would no doubt get quite the kick out of it, too. The thought was so incredibly humiliating, making her bite her lip and squirm, the smile on Serena's face making it clear she knew the effect it was having on her.
"Isn't that much better, Mathilda?" Serena asked, giving the diaper another poke with her crop, eliciting a moan from the girl before she could stop herself. "I thought so. Now, you've been quite the help, but I'm afraid I have no use for a sidekick. I think a little time as a baby doll yourself might do you some good, don't you?"
"N-No!" Matti shook her head. She couldn't let herself be shrunk down like Serena had been, put on display in this outfit in a box, helplessly trapped until someone bought her, probably some little girl who would want to play with her like she was just a baby.
She tried to take a step away, but almost instantly, she felt her balance fail, and she fell to the ground, landing hard on the leg she'd broken when she was younger, pain shooting through her scar tissue at the impact, enough to keep her on the ground, at least, at Serena's feet as the witch lifted her crop.
Her mind raced, trying to think of a way out of this. There was only one she could come up with right away, and she grabbed the book, closing her eyes, trying to remember the spell she'd used to open the portal that led her here, gasping out the words with her hand on the cover of the book.
"Poor, silly Matti," Serena mocked. "You don't have enough magic for that. The only reason it worked before is that I was helping you, and that's not going to happen now. Just be a good girl and sit still, and I'll make a cute box for you, so everyone will want to look in and see what an adorable dolly you are."
Matti groaned, shaking her head, taking a deep breath. Serena was probably telling the truth, but she didn't know what else to do. Thanks to those straps on her shoes, she couldn't get them off, and with them on, she wasn't sure she could quickly stand up, much less run away. She pressed her hand to the book, hearing Serena begin her own spell, opening her mouth to try her own one, last time, eyes still squeezed shut, helping her envision the page the spell had been on so she could get the words exactly right.
She felt herself fall, though, for a moment, she didn't know if that was really what was happening, or if that was the sensation of being shrunk. It wasn't until a second later, when she landed on her old injury again, that the pain informed her that, somehow, she'd pulled it off.
She gave a sigh of relief, feeling the book still under her hand, and her bag at her side. She opened her eyes slowly to see where she'd ended up, and immediately, she couldn't help wondering how much of an improvement this really was.
It was, unquestionably, a daycare. She blushed, tugging at the skirt of her dress, wrinkling her nose, thinking about all the kids that were probably here. She wasn't short enough that she'd be mistaken for one, was she? She wiggled a little at the thought, her diaper crinkling, reminding her that it wasn't going to be any help with convincing anyone she didn't belong here.
Other than her heels, she definitely looked like she did, and considering her bag had nothing but diapers in it, that wasn't going to do much to dissuade anyone. Carefully, clumsily, she climbed onto her feet, leaving her bag on the floor for a moment to make it easier, taking tiny steps, looking around, a sense of dread washing over her as she began to notice that everything around her seemed awfully big to be meant for toddlers. Had some of Serena's spell hit her after all, shrinking her? Or...
"Oh, no!" Matti gasped at the sound of another voice, looking up to see a brown-haired woman there, dressed in red and white stripes. "I'm so sorry, dear! Did you get left behind?"
"N-No," Matti shook her head, blushing, tugging at her too-short skirt. "I-I'm not supposed to be here!"
"Oh, I see," the woman smirked, her tone clearly condescending. "That's why you're dressed so cutely, I suppose." Matti's blush deepened as the woman approached, not even hesitating to reach out and give her diaper a pat. "And why you're soggy." And then, as a final indignity, she peeked behind Matti. "And why you were definitely spanked recently."
Matti squirmed, knowing that all that evidence was going to be awfully hard to refute. "I-I'm not," she pouted.
"I'm glad I came in to find Daisy's doll," the woman ignored her. "I'd hate for you to be stuck here and miss out on breakfast! Now, how would you like to be a good girl and help me look?"
"No!" Matti shook her head. "No, listen! I'm not supposed to be here!"
"Oh, sweetie," the woman told her, looking around the room. "That's what they all say."
Suddenly, a thought came out of nowhere. The book! That definitely didn't fit in at this place! Even if the woman didn't realize it was magic, she'd have to know there was something up with it!
"Look!" Matti demanded, opening up the book, thrusting it towards the woman. "See? I don't belong here!"
The woman continued to ignore her, searching for the doll. "Come on!" Matti whined. "Just look!"
But, when she followed her own instructions, she saw something very worrying. The book was changing, morphing from its mysterious, leather form into a picture book, happy, pleasant illustrations plastered on its thick, cardboard pages. Whether that was a final 'gift' from Serena, or if, somehow, the daycare itself was to blame, Matti could see a line of shimmering magic making its way over the surface, transforming it.
"Now!" Matti squealed, stomping her foot, and nearly losing her balance again. "Please, you have to look now!" The woman paid her about as much attention as she might to any fussy toddler, which only made Matti more upset. "Now! Come on! You have to look right now!"
Finally, the woman did, turning to look at Matti, the girl gulping, hoping that, while the back of the book was almost completely changed, there might be enough of the front left for the woman to see, or at least for her to recognize that something was happening, and making it transform.
"Oh, sweetie," the woman smiled condescendingly, "it isn't story-time now, it's breakfast time!"
She took the book out of Matti's hands as the girl whined in protest, watching as the woman took it over to a bookshelf to set it down. She paused, though, and Matti felt a moment of hope, thinking that something must have caught her eye, let her see that something was off after all.
Then, the woman pulled the report card out of the book, opening it up and studying it. "Well," she raised an eyebrow, turning back to Matti. "I can see why you were sent here."
"N-No!" Matti shook her head. "Th-That isn't..!"
"Don't worry, Mathilda," the woman smiled down at her. "Nobody is going to be mad at you for being bad at school, or potty training, here. In fact, you'll fit right in at Ms. Emily’s Interdimensional Daycare for Big Babies."
"B-But I'm not a big baby," Matti sniffled, watching helplessly as the woman, Ms. Emily, she assumed, marched up to a potty chart on the wall, writing down Matti's full name, and immediately placing a cloud sticker in the first square of the chart.
"Of course you are," Ms. Emily took her by the hand. "And, if you aren't now, you will be in no time. Now, come along. Let's get that little tummy of yours full of some nice, yummy oatmeal."
Matti had read more than enough stories to know what that meant. "N-No!" she groaned, shaking her head and wrinkling her nose, yet having little choice but to stumble along beside Ms. Emily, getting pulled closer and closer to her inevitable fate. "I-I don't like oatmeal!"
That was true. There were plenty of foods Matti wasn't fond of, but oatmeal was probably pretty near the top of the list, even back home, where it wasn't seemingly always designed to encourage the eater to fill their pants.
"I have a feeling there are a lot of things you don't like," Ms. Emily said, as if she were reading Matti's mind. "But good little girls eat what they're given, and if they make a fuss, they get seconds, or thirds, or however much it takes until they can swallow it down with a smile!"
That was even worse news for Matti! Her parents had been happy to let her pick around whatever she didn't like, having long ago given up on making her less picky, so she had very little experience faking it. And, while her bowels might have been able to handle one bowl of oatmeal, even the special kind these places usually tended to have, but the more she went beyond that, the less certain she was about her ability to hold in the results. She'd been skeptical about wetting her diapers, she definitely wasn't ready to try messing them! And yet, she realized, as she was easily lifted up and strapped into a high chair, a heaping bowl of oatmeal set down on the tray in front of her, that didn't seem to matter.
She blushed, squirming on her sore bottom, her freshly-shaven crotch growing warm as it sank in exactly how trapped she was this time, without even a fake, shrunken Sierra to save her. She might not be ready to dive this deep into her new fetish, but, as Ms. Emily tied a bib around her neck, it became more and more clear to her how little of a choice she really had in the matter.
The End
