As for why Dagger and Zidane are stealing chocobos, maybe they're bored, maybe it's a AU where Dagger landed in Lindblum... Dagger certainly wasn't this skilled at magic in canon at least.)<br /><br /><hr/><br /><br />It was quiet in the stables of the Alexandrian Cavalry that morning, only the occasional soft wark of a chocobo and the rattle of armour on patrolling soldiers making any noise.<br /><br />Well, that, and the whispers of two non-soldiers.<br /><br />"Okay, so now we have these disguses, we steal a chocobo," A feminine voice said.<br /><br />"Yeah, but couldn't I get a different disguise?!" A male one hissed.<br /><br />Dagger sighed, regarding Zidane as he fumed in the (female) soldier uniform.<br /><br />"Tch, fine, hold still while I transform the clothes..."<br /><br />A wave of her hand and the casting of a spell later, Zidane felt the soldier uniform re-arrange around him... and barely managed to keep his angry reply down.<br /><br />"Dagger, what the hell?!"<br /><br />"It's a different disguise..."<br /><br />"It's a maid outfit!"&nbsp;<br /><br />"You said different. You got different. Besides, you know how hard it is to transform clothes like that to such a good fit? And that's actually better, if a maid is going into town with a soldier escort it's like we've been sent to fetch something, two soldiers is actually kind of suspicious now I think about it..." Dagger tried to explain.<br /><br />"It's not better! I am not crossdressing to get a chocobo, think of something else!" Zidane fumed.<br /><br />"Okay then, let's try this..." Dagger waved her hand again.<br /><br />"Wait a minute, what are you -GHA!"<br /><br />***<br /><br />A few moments later, a chocobo and rider emerged from the stables. The chocobo seemed annoyed, but the rider was amused, so none of the other soldiers gave them a second glance.<br /><br />"And now, you're not crossdressing!"
