Rarity receives a letter, and enlists her friends to help out with a fashion show to be held in the northern city of Clydesdale - The city Fluttershy was born in. In the process though, a pony delivering a second letter is looking for somepony else...<br /><br /><br />***<br /><br />Okay, as you may have noticed, the past few weeks I've not been around much. That's Battlefield 3's fault.<br /><br />It's also the fault of this story and another idea I had connected to it as to why not much has been uploaded. Lately I've found that I just keep having ideas for this subject, I enjoy it, and that at the same time I just don't have much motivation for other things. <br /><br />This one was planned out over a few weeks, and I'd been working on this in bits. It and the related ideas are almost 40 pages mostly of notes and WIP chunks. It's kind of a cliche idea and it combines two perviously seperate ideas - One where Dash has a problem, and one where Rarity and the others visit Clydesdale for a fashion show.<br /><br />Both ideas should be assumed an AU probably since odds are that they're going to no longer fit canon since season 2 already shot one of my ideas to ribbons yesterday.<br /><br />The dA versions of this will have more commentary attached to them to spare the authors notes on the FF.net version. <br /><br />***<br />Story Notes:<br /><br />This is the bit where I tell instead of Show because I am a bad writer.<br /><br /><br />-The prologue was added to cover where the other mane six were in Sisterhooves, plus the fact that Pinkie has sisters too. That and the fact I wanted to mention them.<br />-My originally planned-integrated-into-the-chapter prologue remains here because it includes some things planned for later. Also, because Luna and Celestia doubleteam trolling hapless sodiers is funny to me.<br />-Some of the mentions of Weather and Rescue, weatherpony stations, and making Rainbow Dash head of the ponyville weather team relate to another idea that will take place before and after this story. That idea will be a far more action/dramatic story once it's rolling.<br />-Hayfries and Potato Fillets is intended to be an analogue for Fish and Chips with the fish replaced oddly enough by a giant potato chip. Scootaloo's father would have corrected Apple Bloom's utterance of the term 'hay fries' though.<br />-Specialist Flying Grades will be explained.<br />-I saw a quote once that Scootaloo just hasn't figured out how to fly yet. I'm still working with that in that she simply isn't able to fly <i>properly</i> and gauge her altitude, speed, directions etc without help. It'll be covered better when the flying grades are, hopefully.<br />-Yes, Rarity's parents are going to take another holiday. Personally, I have a feeling they take a lot of them...<br />-Pinkie Pie is the bane of narrators everywhere who have to point out things she would do, for fear she may just pop up and do them without warning otherwise.
