This one had started life a while as the Blockbreaker idea of my own, with story Eleven being all by itself. Then I had another idea for it and decided to save it to work through November and turn it up to Eleven.
I had been working on requests, and I'd said I was going to write up other ideas if I started getting stuck for ideas doing requests. This is the end result of my side-line work through November, and it worked quite well. As you'll see, there's a variety of different kinds of stories here, though they're mostly just jokes that in few cases have much of a significant plot or relation to any other stories. They were fun to write and helped me keep on-track with Request work.
There's not any real theme present with the ideas, except some stories do have obvious allusions to the number eleven or to the order they are placed in this collection. Because the collection is pretty big, I've split it into two. You can find Part 1 here [link]
The stories in this part of the collection are:
Story 7: Hungry
FF7. It was small and blue, but meant to be bigger. Yuffie was meant to be bigger too, but of the two of them only one realised just how stupid things had become.
I'd always planned to write something about this FF7 enemy, which I found kind of humorous when I fought it in playthroughs. And since Yuffie is the comic relief of the game and one of my favourite FF characters, this was the logical outcome.
ideas, except some stories do have obvious allusions to the number eleven or to the order they are placed in this collection. Because the collection is pretty big, I've split it into two. The stories in this part are:
Story 8: Kaa-Tastrophe
Digimon/Haruhi Crossover. Hungry, predatory, and dangerous. A hypnotic snake is about to strike...
I figured everyone and their sister who does anything remotely hypno/mind control based has done something Kaa-related. And since I've done a little hypno/MC, I should join in... Or did I?
Story 9: Nine Hours
Digimon/Haruhi Crossover. It's November the eighth, and it's Takeru's birthday. Except, it isn't..
I'd been struggling for an idea for this one, then I had a random thought about dates, time zones, and birthdays. Since Takeru is at least a quarter French, I figured he was as good a character as any for this idea...
The other idea I had ten minutes later was for Mimi having a nine-hour flight to Tokyo but it would have been too similar to Ten Minutes in having a restless girl bored of waiting.
Story 10: Ten Minutes...
Haruhi Suzumiya. Let it never be said that Haruhi Suzumiya is patient...
I figure Haruhi was the prime candidate for a story about someone being very impatient as something is nearing the end, and so, I put this one here to lead to the next story.
Story 11: The Eleventh Hour of Haruhi Suzumiya
Digimon/Haruhi Crossover. When trying to explain the appeal of a British Sci-Fi show to a confused friend, do the smart thing... Don't let somebody else try first. Don't let anyone try. It'll all really wind up working itself out by the end of the eleventh hour.
It seems fairly obvious, doesn't it? I recall reading a good crossover between Haruhi and Doctor Who, but I think it could be more entertaining to simply have her a fan of the show. This one also has a third narrator temporarily take the reins in the crossover universe I've made up here between Digimon and Haruhi.
