Ever had a completely random idea that just wanted something done with it? I just did.
Got a block on some other ideas just now, and the request challenges are a little held up by a small snag, so I figure, while I have nothing else to really do before I go onto the full requests, I'd give this a whirl and see how it goes. Maybe I can use this as to break up writers block during the requests so it might be updated during them.
I have no excuses for how exactly I wound up getting to this idea considering it actually started with a poor joke idea based on two FF13 characters being cosplayed by two Digimon characters, but I do have a plan with the idea I have that goes a little beyond just a fun story to write. To do so though, it actually goes out of sync with the other series's 9th novel as far as I know. I've never read it, but the time these events take place would be taking place at the same time that novel is set. I'm not giving it away in case you scrolled to the artists comments first because a small running gag is in play early on
I've never really written first person much before, but to echo the other series that this story crosses with, it seemed better to have a first-person narration. The idea is that TK is narrator here, and the usual narrator from the other series will be involved in the second part of this crossover
Why did I write this? Why not? It's something outside of my usual area, something I found intresting, and something I hope works.
The narration here isn't meant to echo the kind you'd get from the usual narrator of the other series. From what I'd read, as a narrator the other character interacts with what is said and the tense of his remarks sometimes seems to vary between past and present tense. I aimed to have a slight difference in how TK narrates, making it consistent in keeping it past tense plus dropping a quirk of how the other series narrator works. Might be a few little goofs though.
