For a moment, Selphie remembered what was going on. Just a moment, where she knew she was a SeeD, that the others beside her were her allies, that the monstrous cybernetic creature before her was a rogue creation of a mad Estharian science type back from the days of Adel, designed to sow confusion amongst enemies.

And she learned it was indeed very powerful in that role. The robotic head of the creature had red eyes just a second before, but it turned them to gaze at her and they shifted. Pink, purple, red, spiralling circles spinning in the artificial sockets, pink, purple, red, spiralling in her eyes as the enhanced powers of the creature amplified the confuse spell it unleashed to immense powers.

Her mind, her thoughts, they span too. She couldn't focus, she was dizzy and yet as her mind was brought under the control of the creature, her body did not react like her mind was going. In her head, things were now a mess, random memories, thoughts, and sensations. Fear, joy, delight, anger, sadness, her jumbled mind span and span.

And her body, controlled now by the creature, began attacking her allies as she was spiralling deeper and deeper into a pit of bewilderment that had replaced her consciousness....
