Kiriko groaned, her head feeling like she'd been knocked out with tranquillisers, tied up, and kidnapped. After a few fuzzy moments and hearing voices nearby, it soon occurred to the Ninja healer that this was exactly what had happened, given her hands were tied behind her back, and there was a gag over her mouth. She was currently tied to a chair in a small empty room, the door open as a possible taunt, but letting the words drift through from the other room.
'Oh great. And I think I know those voices....'
"...sure this will work?" A woman with a French accent said.
"Stop worrying so much, it'll work. The nanites are almost ready," A Mexican accented voice spoke back.
Widowmaker and Sombra. They'd caught her and had some scheme with nanomachines involved, so she decided maybe she should try playing possum. Wait for them to come and inject it, and then fight back. Her legs weren't tied up after all, she could kick, and try to work her way out of these ropes for now. She was pretty much free of them already.
"And done. Load them into the syringe and do the honours!"
Kiriko pretended to still be out as footsteps neared and a shadow filled the doorway, but to her shock, a small puff noise heralded a needle impact on her forehead. The surprise of the hit made her yelp and stand up, muffled by her gag. Widowmaker stood there, holding a strange looking gun.
"We knew you were awake, fool. Not a problem either way, I was always going to use this. Originally for tranquilisers, it's how we got you in the first place. And oh look, you were getting untied after all!"
Kiriko stood, as the needle fell from her head, and was about to try and rush the sniper when she realised her body wasn't under her own control. She pulled off her gag, and felt a strange warmth spreading all over.
"Come this way," Widowmaker ordered, and she found herself obeying.
She tried to lunge, but nothing happened. Tried to refuse the orders but her body just walked. And all the time her skin was itching, feeling warm. The other room was a set of computer terminals, an odd looking device that seemed to be filling syringes with some silver liquid, and various other gizmos. Sombra sat at one of the computers, the machine linked to a golden headband like thing, as well as connected to what seemed to be a training bot like in the practice ranges.
"Good, put the neural scanner on her head please. We extract her personality and mind, put it somewhere harmless, because leaving it inside the new bot could let her try take over.
'New bot?! What does she mean?' Kiriko wondered.
"And that harmless place is an older training bot?" Widowmaker wondered.
"Yup. Older simpler systems, plus her psyche is set up for a human body, she won't have any way to take control of it, unlike if we left her in there."
Kiriko couldn't move at all as Widowmaker placed the headband on her, and then a second later she felt a shooting pain all across her brain. Lights flashed before her eyes, a rainbow of colours and then blackness, confusion.
And then she saw through a strange yellow tinted vision. She saw herself, standing there, her skin looking strangely shiny, the headband still worn, as Widowmaker tapped her face, which gave a metallic clunk noise...
"Seems the nanites have her mostly metal already. It takes another hour or so before she's fully cured, right?"
"That's how it should go. Once she's all bot, we can send her out and train on her. She should self-heal from all but the heaviest damage as long as she is fully altered," Sombra replied.
Kiriko realised with horror what was happening. They'd turned her body into some kind of robot, while placing her mind in a conventional training bot! And true to what Sombra said, she couldn't control the older bot at all. Not even to look away as she watched her old body turning more and more into metal...
"Excellent. If she works out, maybe we can use the nanites on a few others. And as for the training bot with her mind in it.... That's still useful, yeah?"
"Well, we need it intact to keep her skillset, in case the conversion to a robot degrades her onboard memory, but as long as you don't destroy the CPU or drives it should be able to do repairs as well."
"Good. I need to use a real gun on something, and Kiriko-bot seems like good target practise before the main event with her old body..." Widowmaker cackled, picking up Kiriko the Training Bot, and leaving behind the converting body she once inhabited.
