"And now I need a volunteer from the audience. Someone confident they cannot be hypnotised!" The stage magician said.
Kurt scoffed, and put up his hand.
"Of course I can't, everyone else you pull up is a plant!"
The Magician grinned.
"Oh, well, you seem to fit the bill, good sir. Can you tell us your name and come onto the stage?"
Kurt did so, the audience applauding as he stood up to derail the performance.
"First, what time is it on my watch?"
"Eight forty."
"And on yours?"
"Eight forty one. Yours is slow."
"Perhaps, it's an old thing after all. Now, Kurt... Can you hear me?"
"Uh, yeah, I... wait, I was over there a minute ago?"
Kurt was sure he'd been on the other side of the stage. He checked his watch. Eight fifty-three.
"Good, well, as you can see, we've had you here a little while, but it's time to return to your seat. Thank you very much for your help," The Magician said, to applause, as Kurt sat down, confused.
