Zidane dashed forward towards the foe, intent on using his thief skills to claim something. Though others wondered precisely why monsters even carried items, Zidane as a thief didn't truly care.

And with access to the right materia and dress spheres, neither did Yuffie or Rikku. Unfortunately, the other two had the same idea as Zidane, even as the other members of their six person party were hanging back.

It led to a collision as three bodies rushed one monster.

"Ow, hey, watch it, Zidane!" Rikku protested.

"Zidane? You're the one in the way!" Yuffie hissed as she rubbed her head, having caught a blow from Rikku's elbow when the blonde had crashed into Zidane.

"Apologies, ladies, I'll let you two try first...." The tailed thief offered.

"No, you're letting me try first," Yuffie retorted.

"How do you figure that! I was here first, you headbutted my elbow," Rikku then cut in.

Zidane backed away as the two female thieves began to bicker.

"Ah... Well, uh, you two can..." he trailed off, as Terra shouted from where she and the others were dealing with another monster.

"Will you three pay attention to the basilisk already?!"

Yuffie and Rikku stopped arguing. Zidane's eyes widened.

"Oh right, the thing we were trying to -"

With a glare, the three thieves were silenced, having all foolishly forgotten their target, and then all simultaneously looking at it. Three statues took their place. The wide eyed tailed genome. The still slightly indignant Wutaian Ninja. And one Al Bhed that had just enough time to cringe as she realised she'd let the monster get the drop on her now petrified form.

Terra, in the middle of trying to cure an also petrified Bartz while Zell was knocking the other basilisk senseless, groaned in frustration.

"... Tell me you have a Esuna spare, I'm low on MP and unless Bartz has some gold needles, we're out...."

The blond SeeD shook his head as the basilisk fell. The green-haired half esper's frustration continued

"We probably should try to coordinate a bit better next time. Thieves especially..."
