Izumi and Takuya had become separated from the other Digidestined in a mazelike series of gullys and valleys, and the Blonde girl was not pleased.

"You're the one supposed to know where we're going!"

"I thought you knew!" The goggleboy retorted.

"I was following you, how could you not realise that I was lost?!" She fumed, turning away.

"Well, I don't... WAAGH!" Takuya yelled.

Izumi turned, to see he'd vanished.

"Oh, funny, run away and leave me all alone!"

She then noticed he'd apparently fallen down a hole.

"Uh... Takuya? You okaaAAAAY?!" She yelped as the ground gave way below her.

Groaning, Takuya stood up, staring up at the hole, only to yelp as Izumi plummeted toward him.

"Oof!" She groaned as she landed, then realised she'd landed on Takuya

"Uh, thanks for catching me, I guess..."

"You're welcome," He groaned.

"...I'm not that heavy!"

"Didn't say you were but no one caught me."

"...Oh. So, where are we?"

"A hole?"

Rolling her eyes, Izumi looked around, noting a small altar, with a chickenlike statue atop it.

"Hey, is that a spirit?" She said, reaching over, and picking it up.

"W-wait a second!" Takuya protested, but it was too late.

In a flash of light, that blinded Takuya, Izumi began to glow and digivolve. Her glowing form shifted and expanded, and became a bird-like Digimon, a Kokatorimon.

"...Izumi?"

The cockatrice turned, eyes glowing red.

"No, human.... your friend was but a vessel, to free me! I was trapped in there, and her body was the perfect conduit!"

"What?! Let her go!" He fumed, standing and readying his own Digivolution, only to be frozen in stone in an instant with Petrifier.

"...But yes, I am something of a spirit. All we Kokatorimon were sealed away. Dozens of us in this statue alone," The Digimon said, picking up the statue, and tapping it to Takuya's stone head.

The petrified boy glowed, and shifted, before another Kokatorimon took his place and cackled.

"Aha! The flock shall be free again! Let us go forth, and find many new vessels!" The new Kokatorimon said with glee.

The first, formerly Izumi, frowned.

"Except we're down a hole and we can't fly."

"Ah. That kind of ruins the plan a little. Let's find a way out first?"

"Agreed!"

Minds trapped deep inside their transformed and possessed bodies, the two humans could only groan as they realised the former body of Takuya was taking the lead - and likely had his sense of direction as well...
