Alita dodged another spray of the chrome liquid from the enemy cyborg. What had been a fairly routine training session had gotten somewhat more complicated when she'd found herself attacked by this odd foe. It seemed to be a mostly skinless endoskeleton, with an upper head that seemed to be human... but a lower jaw made of shining chrome-plated metal.

And it seemed to be spitting some kind of chrome liquid as its main method of attack. It was able to dodge her attacks, parry her kicks, but in general the spit seemed to be plan A for this cyborg.

So she decided maybe kicking it in the jaw would help, sending it flying. With an exhilarated grin, she noted it was badly damaged, and she could move in to finish it... except her leg had stopped responding?

Looking down, she saw why - the chrome liquid had spilled on her foot, and was spreading upwards.

She struggled in vain to try and counter it, but up it flowed, changing her leather pants to chrome-coated. She felt her leg locking up solid, the chrome spreading and spreading. She reached down and grabbed at the spreading liquid in desperation, only for it to start flowing down her hand too. Writhing, leg locked in place, the chrome flowing down the other, her stomach a shiny mirror, she realised that there was no hope of stopping it.

A moment later, the lower flow finished on her leg, was spreading below her breasts, as the new upper flow began pouring down to meet it. Her neck, her jaw, her eyes, they were soon coated in chrome, the large and wide eyes becoming shimmering globes reflecting all that they faced. All that remained for a moment was her other arm, the chrome fluid having encased her head before it flowed down there.

And then it was done. She'd been coated head to toe in chrome, locked in place.

The cyborg stood up, sparking from damage sustained, but upon the metal jaw Alita had kicked, it now had a smile for a job well done. Alita was blinded by the chrome over her eyes, but heard his approach, and felt herself being picked up...

There wasn't much to hear for the next little while, just distant voices. The cyborg had taken her somewhere, and seemingly was praised by something or someone for 'an excellent acquisition'.

Presumably, her.

And then the penny dropped, about fifteen hours after her capture, when she was carted out of where she had been stored, and she heard the noises of an auction.

"...Our next piece, a female cyborg, recently chromed and captured. Appears to only have a brain in terms of organics, making it a low risk should that brain be removed, though for those who like to live dangerously, it can be retained," A voice said.

Alita realised two things- she was up for sale, and by the words of the auctioneer, she could break loose! Why else would removing her brain be an option?

She fought to get her cybernetic body responding, feeling some mild give in one leg, only to have her efforts shaken by the slam of a gavel.

"Sold! And will sir be retaining the brain?"

"I'd rather remove it... but can I hold onto it?"

"Certainly, sir has purchased it!"

Alita then felt cutters working away at the back of her head, and a second later, felt nothing at all, as her brain was disconnected from her body. It was placed into a storage device, keeping it in suspended animation. But her body, was now just a statue of chrome, cybernetics totally locked up, with no brain to command them to struggle.

Alita would never know what happened to her body, not even if her brain was ever to be used by her new owner. He had some plans... but was otherwise happy with his new statue. The brain he could play with later....
