Content warning: Violence against Kobolds and Goblins, Pervy Barbarian Ladies, Yuri
The duo of a Cleric and a Barbarian wasn't exactly the most balanced one, but for Elell and Turga, it mostly worked. They'd smashed and bashed and healed their way through this dungeon of kobolds and goblins, seeking a treasure the little pests were rumoured to have.
"This must be their treasure room," Elell said, holding her glowing staff aloft to illuminate the way towards heavy wooden doors.
She wore simple white robes, albeit ones slightly covered in the mess of having had to brain a few Kobolds and Golbins with her staff. She was uninjured, her brown hair still tied into a ponytail.
Turga, however, wasn't quite so great. A few small cuts, not worth wasting the mana, were still bleeding on her form. Her leather tunic and leggings were laced with nicks and cuts, her chainmail overshirt having lost many links, and her breechcloth slightly singed from a close encounter with a fire mage Goblin. Her blonde hair was dishevelled and wild, drying bits of smashed foe stuck in it. She held her hammer aloft, her axe's handle having snapped a few rooms back.
Still, the tall muscular barbarian woman was still standing unlike scores of her foes, and grinning at the find. A swing of her hammer smashed the door to splinters.
"...I was about to check for traps but looks like you were lucky again," Elell sighed as her companion walked into the small room revealed.
A chest sat on an altar, Goblin script for 'do not steal' written on it, along with 'why not' in Kobold tongue below. Presumably the authors of the notes were either bashed, or had fled the axe-hammer-staff onslaught. Piles of bronze, steel, and other metals lay around, but little gold. The shine of the metal was more important than value to the little creatures that had collected it - but the chest was their goal. Elell leaned her glowing staff on a wall, lighting the room up. She also managed to check for traps before Turga opened the box, and got there first. Inside, were a pair of golden gauntlets.
"These seem to be magical gauntlets... Gauntlets of the Healing Touch, I think. They can heal minor injuries with just a moment's touch, without anything near the mana cost of a usual healing spell."
Turga raised an eyebrow, accidentally reopening a small cut in the process.
"Well, that's good. They'll come in handy."
Elell looked at her friend, and sighed.
"Maybe even right now. You're still pretty beat up."
"Pfft, just scratches, Sweetie, but if you wanna try them out, be my guest," the larger woman said.
Elell put the gauntlets on, felt the tingle of her mana entering them to activate, and reached up to swipe at the new cut with her right hand.
And shrieked when Turga began transforming to gold. Jumping back and throwing her hands to her face as she gasped, she realised her second error and screamed in fright, only to realise she was not affected.
"Turga?! Can you hear me?!"
The Barbarian had frozen still, the gold flowing out from the point of the touch, down under her tunic. The cuts exposed glimmering gold below, and in a moment, she was a statue of solid precious metal.
Trembling, with tears in her eyes, Elell reached out with the other glove, her left hand. She stroked Turga's cheek, sobbing out an apology.
And then the gold began to recede from where the left gauntlet touched, going from glimmering yellow to the tanned, sweat-and-dirt coated skin of the barbarian.
"...These aren't healing gloves," Elell laughed hysterically, as Turga turned back, and then blinked.
"Uh, yeah... take them off, will ya, I think you need a hug."
Elell complied, the Barbarian grasping her up in her powerful arms.
"I thought I'd killed you!" The cleric sniffled.
"Nah, take more than a touch to kill me. Besides, it's reversible, right? Any accidents can be fixed. And we can turn all this junk metal to gold now!" Turga grinned.
Elell's eyes widened in glee.
"Of course!"
She yanked the gauntlets back on, and... found they didn't appear to work on non-living things.
"Wait, what? Hang on, can you put the left one on while I try something?"
Turga took the left gauntlet, as Elell prodded herself, to no effect.
"Can't affect the wearer either. Thought so, I touched myself by mistake and didn't get all guilded. Well, that's a shame, what use are gloves that just turn living things to gold?"
"Uh, it did seem to heal my cuts," Turga noted, rubbing where she had previously been bleeding.
"Okay, but apart from that what use are they?"
"Well, I was still aware. It was a little weird, but kinda peaceful. Maybe you should try, you're the smart one, you can write down what's happening."
"...I don't have any paper or parchment. But you make a good point, researching these would be worthwhile."
"Write it in your head then, and gimme."
Elell handed over the other gauntlet, then paused.
"Wait, I just realised. You might not be able to use them, wait here," she said, heading out into the hallway. A small yelp, and she returned with a kobold that had been playing dead, and now had a headache.
"Aw, poor little fella thought he was gonna get away with it," Turga grinned, then poked the creature, which became an 18-karat kobold.
"...I think it's a lady kobold, but poke it again, same hand.
Nothing new happened.
"Now turn it back."
With a poke, the kobold transformed, still dazed.
"Back to gold, poke it a few times... turn it back... good, seems the change doesn't stack, one touch to gold, one touch back,"
"Sure, but point is, looks like I can use them," Turga said, and kicked the still dazed creature back outside, screaming as it flew.
"Yes, you ca-" Elell began, but Turga poked her nose as she spoke.
She felt herself lock in place, and a warmth spread out. As it covered her eyes, the vision tinted a little yellow, but was otherwise clear. As her ears turned to gold, the sounds seemed muffled a little. She wondered if she could taste, because she was sure she could feel - the sensation of the flowing gold seemed good evidence. Given her nostrils were solid, and her lungs were frozen in place, she doubted she could smell - indeed, the sweaty-dirty-coppery-blood scent of Turga and herself that had filled the room seemed to be gone now. She wondered if she could taste, what with her mouth being slightly open....
Turga, however, looked on in awe.
"Wow. You're my golden girl now, I guess! Well, let's go sell you," She joked, picking up the Cleric by the waist.
'Ha ha, put me down... wait, no, not like that!'
With a smirk, Truga flipped the guilded Cleric upside down, letting her robes fall.
"Ooh, the little tight pink ones today, with that fancy elven elasticy stuff! Nice," Turga said, admiring the panties, then tugged the waistband back to let the slap off the golden skin.
'Owch! Well,I can feel pain I guess..."
The cleric stayed stiff as she turned back, then collapsed.
"Hey! I was about to say something! And what's the deal stretching my underwear, you know how expensive that 'elf elastic stuff' is!" She huffed.
"That's another use for them then, stops you talking. So, what's it like?"
"Well, I retained my senses, except smell, since, well, I couldn't breathe in."
"So,like, taste, touch, sight, hearing, someone sneaking up on you?"
"...That last one isn't an actual sense. But as far as I know. I'd need to taste something while golden to kno-" She said, cut off by Turga kissing her and simultaneously tapping her head with the right gauntlet.
After a few moments smooching a golden statue, she used the left.
"....Okay, I can taste. You ate an orange didn't you?" Elell noted.
"Yup! So.... what we have are healing gauntlets that we can both use, can shut you up, and are also gonna be great for bondage stuff!" Turga grinned.
" Oh, sure, take it somewhere filthy."
"When do I not?"
The Cleric sighed.
"Never. If it's not kobold guts, it's smut with you."
"Yup. But I think I like you as a nice quiet statue so if you don't mind, I'll make the journey out easier for me," the Barbarian grinned.
The Cleric fled, chased by her partner.
