Erika Redwood was an avid convention-goer. She loved collecting merch, loved checking out the cosplays, loved the panels, loved checking out the cosplays, loved the atmosphere, and loved checking out the cosplays. She also loved that being a fairly powerful witch, entry was free. Even the merch could be free with a little gentle persuasion to the minds of the sellers, but she (usually) paid. But it was the Cosplays and the Cosplayers she came for...

And indeed, she'd found a very nice cosplayer. One dressed up as an almost perfect Futaba Sakura from Persona 5. Almost, of course. She was pretty sure below that almost-right doll head mask was just the cosplayer's regular head, the 'hair' hanging down attached to the mask. The mask itself was a little lopsided, but only on close inspection.

That was an easy fix. A quick spell, and the cosplayer was now wearing a perfect mask over the right hair, and glasses below too. A quick little bit of influence made the cosplaying girl take it off for a moment to take a drink, showing that she was now indeed perfect.

Yes, she would be a very fine addition to the collection. Erika's magic began to make the girl invisible to the crowd, forgotten by everyone around. The security cameras would not show her. No one would recall that particular Futaba cosplayer. And then came the next stage.

The now-unseen cosplayer froze in place, and began to shrink, her skin taking on a slight sheen. No one batted an eye as she became inches high and inanimate. The cosplayer herself was startled for all of a second, until Erika's magic reached her mind.

'Be calm, Futaba... You're not a human like you think. You're a statue, a figurine. You belong on a shelf, not wandering around, not going home and ruining your perfect cosplay...'

Erika picked up the figurine, entirely plastic. Gently popping off the doll mask, it revealed a facial expression and pose matching a real 1/8th PVC statue of the character that was available. Keeping her as a plain doll for now was easier to carry, and needed less magic use to make people not see a problem. After all, it was just merch.

Erika placed her new figurine in her bag, and decided to get something to eat. At least, that had been the plan, until her eye was caught by a perfect Mt. Lady cosplay from My Hero Academia. She was even lapping up the attention, despite a bunch of neckbeards leering at her... not that Erika could blame them, the cosplayer had a perfect ass. A little mental probing confirmed that, to Erika's surprise, the Most Common Superpower she had was real, not padding - and natural. Not sillicone, nothing plastic about them... for now.

She needed to add her to the collection. The attention faded, but the cosplayer kept her pose, poking her butt and boobs out as far as she could, and then began shrinking like the Futaba before her. Again, Erika collected her prize without anyone noticing or remembering.

Lunch over, Erika resumed the hunt for merchandise. Nothing caught her eye apart from a few volumes of a manga she wanted to get copies of, until she spotted some comic book cosplayers - or rather, comic book movie ones. Into the Spider-Verse ones. A group posing for a photo.

There was a pretty decent Miles Morales, but she really only fetched male figurines for her brother - and he wasn't a big comic book guy. There were three Spider-Gwens, not bad but rather a waste of effort when she already had one at home. The Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peter B. Parkers were alright, though the Spider-Ham was a little too tall. The real standout was the Peni Parker, almost flawless. Her backpack wasn't quite right, but that was an easy fix.

A pity they'd almost had a full group... if only they'd had a Peni Parker, eh? None of them recalled their photo-pose companion. None reacted, as the shrunken and transformed cosplayer was picked up by Erika.

Her eye was caught a moment later by a very well done Aqua from Kingdom Hearts, but Erika again had one at home. She really wished she'd spotted... Aha! The other Aqua, from KonoSuba! Erika knew the character's measurements by heart, and adjusted the Cosplayer to match, 83-56-83 Breast-Waist-Height in centimetres. Her 'panties' also weren't invisible, in fact the cosplayer was wearing flesh coloured spats, but that was 'fixed' with a quick impersonation of Kazuma, for the fun of it. The still-warm shorts, and the plain white panties the cosplayer had hidden with them, now rested in her pocket, as attention faded from the now-transforming woman.

Erika picked up the new Aqua figurine, and wondered if maybe there might be a Megumin around... But alas, little else caught her eye that day.

She headed for home, her acquisitions ready to be put with the others. Matters of space meant little to a witch, and her basement had plenty of room for her many statues... all life-sized, only their bodies plastic. Their perfect costumes would be worn forever, their PVC poses permanent. She regrew her new statues, putting them into her collection, Futaba by the other videogame characters, Aqua and Mt. Lady by the Anime and Manga figures, and Peni in the comic book section.

Not a bad start for the first day of a three day convention. She wondered what she might get tomorrow, when there were contests scheduled....
