Takato and Juri hadn't even been looking for anything odd. Guilimon and Culumon were both staying in the Digital World, nothing much had happened Digimon-related for a while, and yet, here was a statue of a Salamon, just sitting in the middle of the park.

"Sooo.... should we call Ruki and Jenrya? Since, you know, statue of a digimon that came from nowhere?" Juri wondered.

"I mean, I guess... But where did this even come from?" Takato wondered, crouching down to touch it.

And in a flash, Takato was now the statue and the Salamon was alive, staring at Takato.

Juri,to her credit, was not too freaked out by her boyfriend turning to stone before her eyes.

"...Yeah, I'm calling them," She said, only for the Salamon to scream.

"Why am I a statue?! Wait, how am I looking at myself?! What did... Gha! I'm the Salamon now aren't I?"

Juri stared at the small Digimon and once more, was not too freaked out.

"Ookay, so... that's you, Takato?"

"Y-yeah. I guess I swapped with the statue, but,why am I still me? Was it just a trap?"

"Well, I don't know, and Ruki or Jenrya might so, I'm calling them? And then I'm taking some pictures because honestly, you're adorable?"

"Okay,yeah, good idea- wait what?!"

"Hi Ruki, it's me... Oh, let me guess, south side of the park? Yeah, we're there now. Me and Takato. Hang on, let me switch to a video call..."

Takato the Salamon found himself blinking up at the camera of Juri's phone.

"He touched a statue of a Salamon we found, and well, I think the rest speaks for itself."

As it was now on speakermode, he could hear Ruki burst into laughter. And swore he heard Renamon snicker as well.

"Hey! I wouldn't laugh if this happened to you!" He pouted, then had an idea.

"Wait, that's it, I just touch the new statue and... nothing happens?" He frowned.

"It's actually a rare kind of trap, usually meant to deter theft. Data is stored inside statues in some parts of the digital world, and fakes of smaller, weaker, digimon are used to turn any thief into a weaker opponent, and also make the opponent's old body be useful for the defenders to possibly use as a higher level. Don't ask me why they go to all that effort, the south continent is just weird," Renamon's voice said via the phone.

"Right, okay, so, is there a reversal?" Takato wondered.

"Wait, Renamon said the digimon that laid the trap can use it to become the other digimon, right, so... Hold my phone?" Juri said, passing it to Takato.

"Kinda hard without thumbs, and... WAIT NO!"

Another flash, and a statue of Juri was now standing with her hand on Takato's head.

"Aha! Oh, wait, better stand up carefully," 'Takato' said, slipping out from under the stone hand outstretched.

"...Why?!" Salamon-Takato asked.

"Wait, I know, now you touch the Juri statue, the Salamon becomes a statue, she becomes it, you become you, she becomes herself. Easy," Ruki said.

"That's what I was thinking, actually. Go on, Takato."

"Alright, but let's hope this doesn't go wrong somehow," He said nervously, and poked the stone form his girlfriend had left behind.

A flash, and he was his girlfriend.

"Stage two, now," Juri said, soon becoming the Salamon.

"Alright, now you try become yourself again!"

Takato breathed a sigh of relief in his own body, and a moment later, the Salamon was a statue, and Juri was not.

"Well, glad that ended quickly enough," he said.

"Well, it's not really over, is it, that trap thing statue is still here," Juri noted.

"And so are we, by the way, you forgot to end the call?" Ruki said, via Juri's phone.

"Oh. So you haven't, say, warned Jenrya or Ryo or anyone else?"

"Not yet... Why?"

"Oh, well, since it's relatively safe and all, I was thinking of a little prank we could play on one of them," Juri grinned.

Takato had some doubts, but upon reflection, thought it would probably be funny.

"I could get Kazu and Kenta here too?" He offered.

"Now that's a plan there, goggles," Ruki agreed.

And so, some brief controlled chaos ensued.
