Takeru and Hikari were both baffled at the scene before them. A small rock sat in a blackened crater.

"So... how can a meteorite land in the Digital world?" Hikari wondered.

"Uh, gravity? Duh?" Patamon noted from atop Takeru's head.

"Yeah, but where did it fall from?" Takeru asked.

"Space," Gatomon said.

"How does that work exactly, does the Digital World have an outer space or does it stop somewhere?" Takeru asked as Hikari walked closer to the rock.

"Well, it's much smaller than the real solar system, there's a Moon that's smaller but closer, and everything else is just a giant skybox," Patamon said.

"It doesn't feel very warm around here, I guess it must have landed a while ago," Hikari said.

"Well, yeah, but don't touch it, meteorites can sometimes... and your hand is already on it," Gatomon sighed.

Hikari yanked her hand back, but squealed as it seemed to stick a little at first. Stumbling backwards, Takeru caught her.

"What was that?! It was like my hand stretched!"

"Uh... you've got another problem, guys," Gatomon noted, pointing at where Takeru had caught her hand.

The two seemed to be partially fused, Hikari's hand almost melted into Takeru's.

"...That can't be good," Hikari noted.

"I don't even feel anything, are you okay?" Takeru asked.

"...I just feel my own hand. Maybe we pull apart?"

They did so, slightly alarmed to realise their hands stretched a little in the process, but separated and seemed normal.

"What happened?" Both then asked.

Gatomon sighed.

"Like I was going to say, sometimes meteorites can disrupt code. So I was going to say 'wait for Koushiro, Miyako, or Ken to come scan it."

"Oh. Uh, my bad?" Hikari said nervously.

***

Koushiro soon arrived, laptop ready.

"Okay, it looks like the meteorite did disrupt Hikari's code, and since you two touched while it was ongoing, it affected you too. It should only affect you in the Digital World and while in the same chunk as the meteorite..."

"The DigitalWorld has chunks? Like Minecraft?" Takeru cut in.

"Yes, but they're a hundred and sixty meters square, not sixteen blocks square. Anyway, this is only an issue until we fix it, and even then it's nothing too major if you're both careful not to do anything too dangerous," Koushiro said.

"That's good. What did it do exactly?" Hikari wondered.

"It's affected the visual and self-imaging coding, as well as unlocking restrictions on mass, effectively creating the ability for the user to self-render a new avatar at will."

"....We can shapeshift?" Takeru concluded.

"Well, more or less, but... Hikari, what did you just do?!"

As Koushiro was replying to Takeru, the girl in question had shimmered for a second, being replaced with what appeared to be Koushiro - but with longer hair.

"Huh, we can shapeshift! Voice sounds the same though," Hikari noted.

"...You decided to turn into me with long hair? Why?" Koushiro asked.

"Oh, wait, hang on," Hikari shimmered again, and this time the male school uniform the Koushiro she had become morphed into a female uniform.

Koushiro, Gatomon, and Patamon sighed.

"Again, why?" The elder human wondered.

"Why not? Takeru, you try something! Wait, no, I know!"

Hikari stood away from the group, shimmered and began to grow. She soon had become what appeared to be a Greymon, with some differences - namely, lighter blue stripes, shorter horns, and a thinner tail. Hikari!Greymon was also slightly shorter than the Greymon that Taichi's partner could become.

"Huh, that's exactly what they're supposed to look like, but they're pretty rare, " Gatomon noted.

"A female Greymon?"

"Basically, or Greywomon if you prefer. Of course, some Digimon claim we don't really have genders, but the truth is that we..."

"Gatomon, this isn't the time for a lecture on gender studies for Digimon, it's time we got a cure for Takeru and Hikari," Kourshirosighed

"I'm actually okay with this..." Hikari!Greymon noted.

"That's exactly why we need to cure you, I know you, Hikari, you'll...."

The Greymon shifted into a perfect copy of Taichi, but with a feminine twist.

"...Keep messing around."

"Hey, I always wanted a big sister. And apart from the times Tai got turned into a girl, and Sora being like a big sister, I never did!"

"You can't be your own big sister," Takeru sighed.

"Then you shapeshift into this form, duh. In fact, you haven't even done anything!"

"If I shapeshift into something will you let Koushiro figure out a cure rather than just keep turning into different stuff?"

"....Sure."

Takeru shimmered, and grew larger, falling to all fours, and growing wings to become a Pegasusmon.

"Not bad, but why don't you try like a male Lillymon or something?" Hikari suggested.

"Why don't you?" Takeru!Pegasusmon shot back.

"I will!" Hikari grinned, shimmered... and looked like a normal Lillymon, but with a flatter chest, shorter hair, and nettle-leaf wing, as well as the skirt of the dress/robe being longer and less of a bell shape, more like a Roman toga.

"Yeah, okay, that's interesting and all, Hikari, but can you become your normal self so it's easier to fix the error?" Koushiro sighed.

"Alright, fine. But there's so much more stuff we could do with this!"

"And again, that's precisely why it needs to stop because you've already gone a little crazy with it," Takeru said.

"Takeru is right, so please... oh. That's interesting. Now that I look at it, it hasn't really corrupted your code as such, just enabled developer mode," Koushiro said, and clicked a few settings.

In an instant, Takeru shimmered, reverted to his normal non-equine shape, and Koushiro grinned.

"Try shapeshifiting now."

"Nope, nothing. Guess it's fixed?" The younger male said.

"Wait, if it's a setting.... you can switch it back on later!" Hikari grinned.

"Yeah, but no," Koushiro said, clicking the options and reverting her.

"Aw, you're no fun."

"It's not about fun, Hikari, the way it works it means that someone close enough to access the code of an affected digimon or a human in the digital world can uncheck that box and do anything. I could have changed you and Takeru at will. Imagine if someone malicious had that code."

"Okay, but, hypothetically, for science and research and stuff, could it be switched back on in a controlled environment?"

'No, not at all, once we leave here and go home the developer mode is locked out,' Koushiro wanted to say, but did not.

"Yes, but if I ever do it, it'll be supervised and strictly controlled, okay?"

"Of course," Hikari smiled.

"Wait, if it's just an unlock thing in a small area... does that mean the others could do it?" Takeru realised.

Koushiro groaned.

"Great, Takeru, Hikari is bad enough but you want Miyako and Mimi able to do this? Taichi? Daisuke?!"

Hikari cackled as Takeru realised the huge mistake he had made.
