As the Digimon Kaiser, Ken Ichijouji had came up with numerous crazy schemes, scattering them in numerous slightly less crazy bases across the Digital World. Having reformed, he was trying to clean up his mess where he could. One such base was where he and Miyako Inoue, along with Wormmon and Hawkmon, were presently trying to get into a vault door inside a cave.
"So... you forgot the password?" Miyako repeated.
"Yep. And I forgot to set a security question before you ask."
"Have you tried your birthday?" Hawkmon suggested.
"It's alphanumeric and limited to six characters, has to include at least letter or number," Wormmon shot him down.
"Hmm..." Miyako tried to enter something.
"Miyako, why would I have set the password to your name back then? I was crazy and evil."
"Yeah, but even then I was amazingly cute! ...right?"
"Uh... cuteness of girls wasn't really on my mind back then," Ken said sheepishly.
"Good, it wasn't H1k8r1 or T8k3ru either."
"Uh, did you just say you tried entering three wrong passwords?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Because I can't remember if my failsafe devices were set to ten or nine failures."
"I think it was ten?" Wormmon said.
"What kind of failsafes are we talking here?" Hawkmon wondered, while backing away.
"The door will lock for twenty-four hours."
"Oh, so not a bomb. Why'd you pick it as non-Japanese characters?"
"I was also an arrogant smartass as well as evil, I thought none of you would even have thought to use western languages."
"And now you're probably embarrassed by the fact Daisuke is technically better at English than you," Miyako noted.
"Not really. Aha, wait, I have it!"
"..12E4S6? One-two-three-four-five-six? You were an arrogant smartass trying the double-bluff."
The door creaked open, and then jammed halfway.
"If this place is full of cloned Digimon all called Gary, I'm out of here," Hawkmon noted.
The inside was nothing more than a collection of rooms, an old monitor room, and a couple of holographic projector rooms. There was also one room full of glass jars full of an orange substance.
"Huh, what were you doing in there, making marmalade?"
"Uh, no, worse. That was a trap I was trying to make, it was a decompression goo. Basically, it'd break down a digimon or a human into a blob of code, let me take control of them, and turn them into anything: their old selves, another digimon, all under my control and because they were goo, virtually unstoppable."
"Yikes. Glad it had a problem then... It did have a problem, right?"
"Yeah, it never actually put anything under my control and it eventually wore off. Still, it's pretty dangerous stuff, I should get rid of it," Ken said, opening the door to the jar room.
"Need a hand?"
"Yeah, but there's another flaw, anything making the wrong frequency of noise could sometimes make it expand fast, so we're going to need to be quiet."
"What kind of frequency?" Miyako frowned, thinking this might have been a dig at her less-than-quiet personality.
"A high-pitched noise like breaking glass or an alarm klaxon. Probably not someone screaming though," Ken said, oblivious to the danger he'd almost walked into.
"Wait, Ken, didn't we build this place with a defence mechanism?!" Wormmon suddenly yelled.
"...Uh oh," Ken replied, just as an alarm sounded and one of the jars exploded over them both.
"Agh! We're melting!" Miyako shrieked, as her feet began to turn into a slimy puddle.
"Don't worry, it's temporary... and you'll still be in control of yourself, you just need to reform into your own shape!"
"...This happened to you before, did it?"
"Uh, yes..."
"You really should have warned me!"
Another jar exploded.
"Wormmon, go shut the alarm off, these jars will keep exploding otherwise.
"Okay... Will I get the mop as well?"
"That's not funny!" The other three present shouted.
By now, the pair were puddles of slime to their waists, sinking and sliming down.
"This feels really disgusting..." Miyako groaned.
"At least we're not merging," Ken said.
"...We can merge?!"
"No, that was another thing I never got working,"
"...When this is over and we're solid again I'm kicking your ass, Ken!" Miyako said as her head began to goo-ify.
It was soon over, and Wormmon returned to the pair now puddles of slime - Miyako purple, and Ken blue
"So, uh, when do they reform?" Hawkmon asked.
"It took me and Ken a minute or two last time," The caterpillar Digimon replied.
Eventually, the two blobs began contracting and reforming. Their bodies began to reshape into normal, and whilst looking somewhat shiny and slimy, were relatively like their old selves.
"...I still feel really cold," Miyako sighed.
"Sorry, the decompression goo doesn't regulate temperature that well. This should only last a few hours... But for now, we can kind of shapeshift!" Ken said.
"Huh?"
He turned blue for a second, and then was replaced by Daisuke's appearance.
"...Oh, the evil plans I'm having seeing that. We can go run up his tab at my family's store if this sticks across into the real world," Miyako cackled.
"It does, actually, but it'll wear off a little slower there and we're only able to shift in the Digital world. Huh, maybe I should have focused more on girls back when I was an evil lunatic," Ken grinned.
"Uh, guys, dangerous people-melting goo?" Wormmon said.
"Tch, fine, we'll clear that up first."
