"Okay, we need to be cautious and diplomatic. They might be evil for all we know," Gatomon said.

"Or they might be good guys but fighting an evil Pegasusmon," Takeru noted.

"Or they might be fighting an evil Gatomon."

"Or maybe they're fighting a brunette Japanese girl," Hikari cut in.

Gatomon looked at Hikari with a raised brow.

"I'm just saying, they might think I'm a super-villain. I mean, this is a different world..."

"It might have happened somewhere. Oh, and I think we might want to just pretend I'm a regular Pegasusmon as long as we can, explaining I got turned into a Digimon might weird them out," Takeru said.

"Let's just go over and... Uh oh."

The trio's conversation had possibly been louder than expected, or, the alien code they represented to the local Digimon may have alerted them. Either way, they now faced down a Greymon and a Birdramon.

"Uh, hi! We come in peace!"

The Greymon glared at Hikari.

"And who are 'we'?" It challenged, sounding female.

"Well, uh, me and my friends here, Gatomon and Ta... Pegasusmon, we're kind of from another Digital World..."

"Another world where humans get turned into Pegasusmon?" The male-sounding Birdramon asked.

"Ah, you heard that, drat. Well, long story short, yeah. It's not a regular thing though!"

"It happens far too often for my liking but it's not a regular thing, yeah," Takeru nodded.

"Wait a second, he was a human?!" A human girl shouted, running over from hiding amongst some trees.

Brunette, wearing goggles, with messy hair...

"Ah, yeah, I was... Uh, she looks kinda familiar, Hikari..." Takeru began, but the goggle-girl cut him off

"How'd you know my name?!"

"Actually, he was talking to me, that's my name... too... Ah. Yeah, this is gonna sound strange but I think we're from a Digital World and an Earth where at least some people are different genders," Hikari scratched her head, knowing how odd that sounded as she said it.

"...Can you explain that one again?" the goggle-girl blinked.

"Okay. Do you have a little brother?"

"...Yeah, why?"

"I've got a big brother named Taichi."

"That's my brother's name!" The goggle-Hikari gasped.

"...Hikari, I think what's she's saying here is she's you from another dimension," A blonde girl sighed.

"Not quite, I think technically I'm her little brother from an alternate dimension. But older. And a girl, obviously," Hikari noted.

"Waaaait, how can you be my little brother... Aw, your parents were so lazy they just kept the list of names for their second baby too?!" Goggle-Hikari said.

"Yup, seems so..."

"And it seems like Taichi, she's the smart one," a red-headed boy noted as he neared.

"Yeah! Hey, wait, what the hell, Sora?!"

"Oh good boy-Sora is still Sora, that keeps it simple," Gatomon noted.

"I think maybe we need to set up camp and introduce ourselves," Girl-Yamato sighed.

"Sure, Tomoko, good idea..." Goggle-Hikari still looked confused.

"Huh, friendly child. Fitting, I guess," Non-Goggle-Hikari noted.

They had set up camp, learning that the only non-genderswapped members of this group of Digidestined appeared to be Mimi and Koushiro.

"Okay, uh... Well, I'm Hikari and this is Agumon," Goggle-Hikari began.

"That's Sora and Tomoko, you met them, and that's Biyomon and Gabumon," she pointed at the four.

"The kid is Maki, and that's Patamon..." The shorter blonde girl seemed to bristle at being called a kid, but Patamon waved.

"The glasses girl is Haruka, and that's Gomamon. The boy on the computer is Koushiro, and the cowgirl hat is Mimi, with Palmon and Tentomon."

"...Tenatmon is Mimi's partner?" Gatomon asked.

"Yeah, why?" the female Tentomon said.

"So, is Palmon..."

"I'm Koushiro's partner, yeah!" Said Palmon replied, sounding still female.

"You're female," Takeru noted.

"So? Gomamon's a boy and he's got a girl partner," Palmon shrugged.

"So, what's different in your world?" Goggle-Hikari asked.

"Okay... Well, apart from you being male and called Taichi as the firstborn, Tomoko is Yamato and a boy, Sora is a girl,  Haruka is probably called Jyou. Mimi's a girl and Koushiro's a boy, but they had the opposite partners. The Digimon were mostly male except for Palmon and Biyomon. And Yamato's sibling and brother is called Takeru, not Maki. And he's a boy."

"...Or I was until I got turned into a Pegasusmon," Takeru sighed, making his Hikari wince, and Maki gasp.

"Takeru? I was trying not to freak her out, I was trying to be gentle and diplomatic."

"Oh. Whoops..."

"W-Wait, so, the boy version of me got turned into a flying horse digimon at some point?" The youngest of the alternate Digidestined stammered out.

"Uh, yeah..."

"Does that mean I might get turned into one at some point?"

"Well, hopefully not...." Hikari tried to calm her down.

"...Aw, darn."

"Wait, darn?" Takeru wondered.

"Yeah, darn! You're a flying horse, that's so cool!"

The trio from the other dimension were rendered silent by this, as were the local Digidestined.

"Huh. Okay. Well, uh, I'm Hikari, my partner here is Gatomon, and flying horse is Takeru," Hikari managed to say.

"...She's right, you know, it is cool," the local Mimi shrugged.
