Hikari and Gatomon remembered light, and a sensation like a rollercoaster falling out the back of an aeroplane during an earthquake. It seemed to last forever and only a moment.

Takeru, still out of it, didn't notice until it ended, and the ground decided to say hello. The trio landed in a tangled heap of complaints and groans.

Hiari, being the smallest of the three, managed to free herself from the tangle first.

"Ow... Wait, we were in a rocky mountain part at sunset before, why are we in flat grasslands at sunrise now?" She wondered.

"Whatever happened must have thrown us... Wait, Pegasusmon, is it me or does something not feel right?"

Takeru, now becoming a little more aware, stood up on shaky hooves.

"Yeah, something does not feel right at all..." He said, but prior to expanding on this, found his balance was not so stable after all.

"Ah, no offence but I meant the code of the digital world, not you..."

"I don't know what you mean but-"

"Takeru!" Kari suddenly interrupted.

The human-turned-Pegasusmon was surprised.

"W-wait, you..."

"What happened to Takeru?!"

Takeru blinked, then sighed.

"Hikari, I am Takeru."

It was Hikari and Nefertimon's turn to be surprised.

"Huh?"

"That Datamon gave Pegasusmon to a Cockatrimon that helped him catch us and had some plan to make a copy of me, but he turned me into a pegasusmon first so he could control me. At least I think that was his plan..."

"Sounds completely insane, so, yeah, I think you're telling the truth," Hikari sighed.

"Yeah, now I look closer you're a little off for a Pegasusmon," Nefertimon noted.

Takeru tried to stand again, thankful that had gone pretty smoothly.

"Uh, are you okay, Takeru?" Hikari said as she tried to help him up.

"Well, I'm a flying digital horse instead of a human, I'm not used to four hooves and being about three times my normal size, I've got a bad headache, and I think there's a rock stuck down the front of my armour, but yeah, fine."

"I can probably help with the last one right now, we'll work on the other ones later."

Takeru flinched as Hikari shoved her hand in the gap between his body and the golden chest-plate.

"Hey! Careful, that tickles!"

"Yeah, yeah, I think I've got it... There!"

She pulled the 'rock' free, but it wasn't a rock - It was a Digivice. Takeru's, to be precise.

"Oh, hey. Kind of a pity we believed you so easily now, you had this as proof."

"Wait, how is it a pity exactly?!" Takeru protested.

"Just let her run with it, Takeru, I doubt we're ever going to get an explanation for it. Oh, and by the way, do you feel like de-digivolving any time soon?"

"I don't even know if I can de-digivolve, Nefertimo... Gatomon," Takeru corrected himself as she reverted to the much smaller cat.

"As far as I can tell you can't, you seem to be mode locked. But hey, the good news is me and Hikari won't be too heavy!"

"I'm not even sure I know how to walk let alone fly..."

"Uh, Takeru, your digivice is acting weird," Hikari spoke up.

"What do you mean, weird?"

"It says it's uploading your flying ability and walking ability. It failed to upload user control access and digivolution processes. I guess that was what the Datamon planned to do, have the Digivice fully control you."

"Okay, being a Pegasusmon against my will isn't exactly good, but being an enslaved one that could be made to evolve and digivolve at the whim of some clone of me would have been pretty bad," Takeru confessed.

"Yup. And hey, on the plus side, I always wanted a horsie when I was little. You've helped me achieve my childhood dream!"

"Very funn- Wait, are you trying to redo the user control access thing?!"

She had not been. The Digivice was not able to control the code modifications to Takeru's Pegasusmon form, just transmit them. Able to walk and fly, and with his headache mostly gone, Takeru allowed Hikari and Gatomon to ride on his back.

"Any remarks about my weight, Takeru, and I'll ping your ear, got it?" Hikari warned, half-joking.

"Honestly, you're not very heavy."

"Okay, Takeru, if you take us up high enough in the air that I can look around, I'll be able to look at the digital code a little and tell where we are, we can head home, figure out a way to save the real Pegasusmon, and then Kari can arrange a stable for you...."

"Hey!"

"Yeah, Gatomon, that's mean. We'd just turn Tai's room into a stable for him."

"I swear if you two tease me seventeen or eighteen more times I'm just not gonna fly anywhere."

After apologies (that Takeru felt were not entirely sincere), they took off.

"High enough yet?" Takeru asked Gatomon

"She can't be, there's no catnip," Hikari joked.

The cat digimon, however, was frowning at the world below them.

"Uh, guys? I don't mean to worry you, but I think we're not in our own Digital World."

"Oh, great. Well, looks like getting home won't be as easy as we hoped."

"What's different about it, Gatomon?" Hikari wondered.

"Well, the code feels older... and I think I see a group of seven humans and digimon over in that forest."

"We time-travelled?!" Takeru said.

"Uh, maybe not... I think two of them are male and five are female humans."

"Well, if they're humans, they might be Digidestined from this world. Let's go see, will we?" Hikari suggested.

"And if they're evil?" Gatomon decided to remind them of the risks.

"Then we hope that whatever that code to make me fly did, it made me fast," Takeru said, as he began the journey down and towards the forest.
