"I'm not sure this is really such a great idea, Garnet." Eiko said honestly.

"I'm inclined to agree with Lady Eiko, Your Majesty. I think honesty might be the best policy here." Beatrix weighed in.

"No. I must do this, for Zidane. I have to face this."

"But Garnet, this is dangerous. You could die. Horribly!"

"Oh, come on, Eiko, that's..."

Garnet pondered the facts of what she was facing.

"...Um, you might have a point."

Beatrix sighed.

"Your Majesty, I know that you feel this is important, but almost all who have faced this have suffered. Surely you remember Blank's story? That horror he told..."

"Yes. The agony, the stench, the smell of burning, the days of recovery for those who lived." Garnet said, staring off in horror.

"So... Just be honest. Tell Zidane you can't do it. It's too risky. Think of Alexandria! If you die the throne goes to some distant cousin who is probably some kind of insane brat who'd burn the castle down in minutes and their whole family is probably more inbred than yeast!" Eiko added.

"Er, Lady Eiko, you'd probably be the most likely candidate..."

"...I got the burn down the castle bit right at least."

Garnet shook her head.

"No. I must do this. I must surrender my self control to be able to face this fear, for Zidane, for our love, for me, and for Alexandria!" She proclaimed.

"...Now hurry up and cast confuse on me so you can hypnotise me into doing it before I come to my senses!"

Eiko sighed.

"Fine. Confuse!"

"Okay, now you read the script, General Beatrix." She said, as Garnet began to sway in bewilderment.

"...I thought you had it." Beatrix said.

"I thought you had it."

"Well, obviously, you wouldn't have told me to read the script if you thought you had it. So who does have it?"

"Hm. Maybe we should just forget it then?"

"No, the Queen would not be happy. Ah, here it is..."

"What's that, the handwriting is too vague to read? Oh, what a shame!" Eiko giggled.

"...She used a typewriter."

"Worst invention ever. "

"Your father invented it, Lady Eiko."

"I know, he could have invented an ice cream machine or something." The Lindblumian (adopted) Princess fumed.

One hypnotic suggestion implantation (and a redo to remove references to ice cream) later, Queen Garnet Til Alexandros the Seventeenth faced her greatest fear.

"...I know the last time didn't work out so well, but if the castle chefs refuse to cook these, the only way forward is for me to try and learn myself! And I think I really got it this time..." Zidane said happily as he sat beside his wife at the table.

Garnet stared at the plate, the hypnosis working perfectly.

"It looks a lot better, Zidane." She said, not quite honestly, but the hypnosis was preventing the truth.

Even as her subconscious wanted to run in terror from the burritos that lay before her.
