"You're just afraid Yolei." Kari teased.

"I am not!" The purple-haired girl fumed.

"Sure you are. Everyone else has had the guts to let themselves go under hypnotism and play around with their own Digital World self-images. But you're too scared." Gatomon joined in.

Since the discovery that hypnotised individuals who really got into an idea could use the nature of the Digital World to become something else, the Digidestined had carefully played with it. So far most of the group had tried to become Digimon, and a few Digimon had assumed human appearances.

All except Yolei. For some reason, it hadn't worked on her, at all. Despite having wanted to try out being a Hawkmon (a female one of course: She had no desire to change gender deliberately!) she hadn't even been able to go into the trance. She had blamed her glasses but had yet to try again.

"You just worry it won't work at all..." Kari sighed.

"I bet it will work! I'll take off my glasses, relax, and Gatomon can do her worst! I bet you I go under and I can become any Digimon you make me want to be!"

Yolei was normally quite smart. On occasion she could be quite stupid though.

"...Oh? So it's up to me and Gatomon to pick what you do?"

"Yeah!"

Kari smirked. Gatomon returned it.

"Oh well, let's do this."

"Cat's Eye Hypnotism!"

Yolei had turned out to have some resistance after all. But she'd almost felt it. And not quite aware of how silly it was, she'd urged Gatomon to keep trying.

And now it had finally worked. She stared off blankly.

"Are you under, Yolei?" Gatomon asked.

"...Yes. I am under your control."

"Good. Now, I want you to do two things. First, you will truly deep down think what I tell you to think. Second... Your own concious mind will be fully aware, but also still deep down obey and think no matter what."

Yolei nodded, and in her head, realised the danger

'Fully ... uh oh. I've been pretty stupid here.'

"Oh, and don't worry too much Yolei. We'll be nice because to make up for this you get to do the same thing to me. It's only fair." Kari admitted.

'Okay, so, you won't do anything too bad... or you will but you don't really care...'

Yolei fretted even as her body sat obedient and entranced.

"Now, what we're going to do is head for the Digital World. But before we go, I want you to imagine deep down that when you get there, you will be a digimon..."

'Uh oh...'

She had visions of a hopeful spell as a female hawkmon as she'd wanted. She had visions of being a male one just to mess with her. And then she had visions of less... pleasant Digimon to become. And of somewhat embarrasing ones.

'I don't think I'd make a good Angewomon!'

"...And that Digimon will be... a Pegasusmon!" Gatomon said.

"...Why a Pegasusmon?"

"'Cos both of us can fit on a Pegasusmon's back. Oh, and Yolei, it's a male Pegasusmon!"

'AAAAH NO!'

"Just kidding, you'll be a girl Pegasusmon. Just be glad I'm not doing what Mimi wanted to be and making you imagine you were that rainbow pony..."

"Yeesh, taking her to the Digital World in a trance like that was... weird. How the hell can a flying horse break the sound barrier with a rainbow sonic boom of all things..."

She had to admit it wasn't that bad. Kari and Gatomon weren't too heavy on her back, and even looking out from a body she couldn't control Yolei found flying and trotting around a little relaxing.

"So, this was your plan. We made Yolei into a horse so we could get transport for us both." Kari asked.

"Yep." Gatomon replied.

"...Maybe we should have had her imagine she was one of those things from that show Tai watches. The big transforming robots..."

"...Oh, you're right that would have been so cool."

'...That would have been cool. Damn it, go back and make me imagine I'm a Transformer! Mimi can keep ponies, Rainbow Dash can't turn into an F-35!'
