Zidane found Garnet sitting on a bench beside a playground. Since rebuilding Alexandria meant that more important things needed more attention, the debris and rubble here had not been cleared.

Still, Zidane noted, it wasn't too bad. One of the climbing frames was a little buckled, and the only swing still on the chains was the shortest one,  but it wouldn't take too long to fix it up.

"Should you really be wandering the city without any guards?" He asked.

She simply nodded, and Zidane noticed the two soldiers nearby.

"I keep guards around, Zidane. Don't worry about that."

The blond shrugged and sat beside her uninvited.

"Thinking?"

Garnet sighed.

"Avoiding thinking about anything important. It's quite a lot of work. Over a year and we still  have areas damaged like this. It's strange though. I would have thought that parents would have fixed this place up quickly..."

Zidane agreed. It did seem strange.

"Unless there's a nicer playpark somewhere else. How do we know this happened during the attack?"

Garnet considered this.

"...True. The frame of the swings does seem rather rusty. I wonder though... There was a small playground built in the castle grounds for me when I was young. Maybe it's still there."

Zidane shrugged.

"From what I saw, they maintain things in the castle even if they're not in use right now. So, you had your own playground as well, huh?"

Garnet frowned, and looked at him.

"...As well? Did Tantalus scare the other kids away or something?"

Zidane laughed and shook his head.

"Nah. It's a playground only I could reach easily and enjoy. It was up high..."

Garnet understood.

"Ah. You climbed buildings."

"Yup. Good practice... Quite useful for Boss to have someone..."

"Small, defiant of gravity, and fearless of it to boot?" Garnet finished.

"Not in as many words, but yeah."

There was silence for a moment.

"...And I bet you used it to look in windows." Garnet gently accused.

"What? Me?! Peeking at young maidens?!" He said, with false scandal.

"You're not even trying to deny it..." Garnet smirked.
