Takato heard strange voices, but saw only blackness.

"Drat! She left it behind playing possum!" A voice snarled.

Takato's whole body felt odd... His chest and crotch both felt weird, tingly. The rest of his body tingled too, but it was that plus his scalp that felt worst...

"What did it do to him?" Another voice shouted.

"The change is acceptable, he remains human. He has lost conciousness but it does not appear to be a danger." A third voice added.

Takato couldn't quite understand... Was he hurt?

"Then we must send him and his partner. Good luck, human...

And then it felt like he was being torn to pieces.

"Oh dear. We forgot to learn his designation..."

He wanted to scream but he couldn't. He blacked out fully...

The recollections were vague.

The world was in danger.

People had been transformed into Digimon.

People had been turned to stone.

There was a memory of someone called Circemon. Of things called Changemon.

Five friendly Digimon had been trying to prevent disaster, and were still working to prevent it.

He'd been given a small black box. He'd been told to open it if he defeated Circemon. If.

But the main recollection was of a face, of a girl who'd had her share of troubles in the past, a girl he was reasonably sure he loved.

And there was a sensation of fear.

Fear that what little he could remember was going to be forever, that it was all over, and that he would never see that girl again...

The first thought he had upon waking was to recall nothing more than a bizzare dream, which quickly enough faded from real memory. The second thought was that his whole body hurt like he'd been hit by a truck. And then the Ambulance taking him to hospital had been hit by another truck. Then the hospital had been hit by a bus that swerved to avoid a truck.

This meant that quite naturally upon propely waking, there was only one response that the aching Tamer had.

Takato groaned.

'Ow... What happened... I was attacked, wasn't I. Guilmon? Is he okay?'

"Uh, hi." A girl's voice said.

Takato blinked his eyes open. A girl in a blue shirt, with long brown hair, wearing a pair of goggles on her head, stared down.

"...Hi?" Takato squeaked back, blaming it on the fact he was a little concussed, a little surprised, and not the fact the girl was kind of pretty... But something seemed off about that as well. Like he knew she was pretty but it was like there wasn't any reason that a girl being pretty would make him flustered...

"So, who are you?" The girl asked

"Who are you?" Takato countered.

'Well, Takato, you win the original retort sweepstakes. Let's see what you've won!'

The girl giggled.

'Yep, a girl thinking you're an idiot.'

"Why should I go first?"

"L...ladies first?" Takato squeaked.

'This would go a lot better if I didn't sound like a chipmunk in a room full of helium...' Takato noted.

The girl laughed again.

"Oh, and I guess you're not a lady?"

Takato sat up

"What? Of course not, I'm a..."

His hair fell in front of his face.

He then noticed it was much longer.

"Girl? Yeah, it's kind of obvious really. Or are you a girly boy?"

Takato reached a hand to check.

She whimpered.

"...B-But..."

The girl laughed again.

"No, that's around the other side. You're kinda funny. I guess I'll tell you my name first after all. I'm Taira Yagami. And you are?"

Takato shook his.. her... head.

"T... Takato Matsuda..."

"Takato? Don't you mean Takako? Takato is a boys name."

"I... I know this is going to sound crazy but I am a boy."

Taira shook her head.

"Not right now you're not. Either that or you need to lose a little weight like my dad..." She said, poking Takato...Takako... Whatever he or she was called now... In the chest.

The yelp was definitely feminine.

"D-Don't do that!"

"Ah, lighten up, Takako. Your Digimon is waking up, so I guess you two can come meet the others..."

"...Digimon? Guilmon's here?"

"...Takatomon? Why is your hair long?" Guilmon asked as he walked over.

An orange dinosaur was beside him (Because it was only fair she had to wake up as a freaking girl and Guilmon stayed male... Digimon didn't even really have genders!) and Taka...ko, stared.

"An Agumon?!"

"You know what she is? Cool! You need to come see everyone else. We'll be really glad to have eight of us!"

Taira yanked Takako away so fast, the two Digimon had to run to keep up. Takako barely had time to adjust her belt to her now slightly thinner waist...

"Okay, so, these are the girls! And guys!" Taira beamed.

The other six humans and their Digimon stared at her and Takako.

"...Taira, who is that?" A red-haired boy in a yellow jumper and faded blue jeans asked.

"Oh, right. Everyone, this is Takako. I found her lying over there with her Digimon!"

A Biyomon pointed at Guilmon, as he and Agumon neared.

"I've never seen anything like him before..."

Guilmon waved at them.

"Hello. My name is Guilmon..."

"...He's a Virus type! A Patamon hissed from on top of a small girl's head. The other Digimon tensed up.

"Not every Virus type is evil, Patamon, we've been through this..." Agumon sighed.

"He has a hazard symbol!"

"Whoa, guys, can we calm down? He doesn't look dangerous to me... Agumon said to me about it before Takako woke up so I know what Guilmon is, Agumon doesn't mind and if she doesn't mind I don't mind so...  Let's hear them out at least!" Taira tried to bring some order into the proceedings.

At this, the Patamon blinked.

"...Okay, I'll listen for now, but I'm telling you right away, I don't trust Virus types and I sure as hell don't trust..."

"...Takatomon, I don't think these other Digimon like me... Should I go back?"

It was the red-haired boy who answered.

"No... Guilmon, was it? We're going to listen to your human friend and see what she says, then we'll figure out what we're doing."

"Um... Okay...."

Takako sighed.

"So... Where were we?" Taira then grinned, as if the argument and the possible hatred of Guilmon wasn't about to restart in a minute.

"You said I was... Takako... But I said my name was..." Takako began.

"Sounds too boyish, you should be Takako!" Taira waved her concerns off.

"Anyway, the red headed guy there is Sora... I keep saying that's a girls name too but then it's supposed to be a boys name too so I just give up. "

"Hi." The level-headed boy said.

"...Beside him, that boy in the red shirt and brown cargo pants with the cowboy hat is Michi."

The other boy nodded a greeting. Takako thought he looked a little snooty...

"The girl who hasn't even looked up from her laptop in the orange jacket and brown knee length skirt is Kushina..."

Said girl kept typing until the blue-haired girl beside her with glasses, wearing a long grey skirt and a quite loose purple blouse, nudged her.

"Huh? Oh... Who's that?"

"I'll tell you later..." Blue-haired sighed.

"And the blue haired older girl there with the loose blouse to try and hide her chest and everything is..."

"Taira!"

"...Okay, the blue haired girl who is sensitive about her chest cos she's getting old..."

"TAIRA!"

"...Jeez, Jori, let me introduce you!"

Takako blinked in confusion at this.

'Did she just say...'

"...Her name is Juri?"

The similar name made her remember her face again. Remember one certainty, that she was in danger and so was the rest of the world Takako came from...

"No, Jori. Different.  Anyway... The last two, the blondes. The adorable ultra cute mega sweet and kind and chibi one with the short hair is  Takeko... but we all call her TK so that won't get confusing too much I hope..."

The girl in question was younger than the rest, wearing a green dress over a blue shirt. She also had a small green hat with a blue (fake) gemstone on it.

"Hi." She said nervously.

"And the ugly one is Yatsumi."

"Ugly one?!" The older long haired blonde fumed. She wore a denim mini-skirt over blue shorts (only just noticeable below the hemline of the skirt) and a green shirt.

"What? You're not as pretty as me, deal with it."

"...You'll be a lot less pretty when I slap you!"

"Girls! Quit it!" Jori shouted, moving in between them.

As Sora facepalmed, Takako had a feeling this was all too common. And if she knew girls, odds were the pair were actually best friends...

The two did so, reluctantly in Yatsumi's case.

"Jeez, take a joke, Yatsumi, you know you're not ugly..." Taira sighed.

"Taira..." Sora said threateningly.

"Okay, fine... I was saying sorry..."

"Okay, um... Now what?" Takako asked.

The Patamon looked at Takako.

"Okay. Explain what Guilmon is, why we should trust him, why he's a he when you're a she, and  why he has a freakin' Hazard Symbol on him. Oh, and where you came from because you're not one of our Digidestined..."

Takako tried her best.

"He's my digimon, um... He's really not dangerous, he acts a lot like a little kid, and uh..."

Takako paused. Saying she was a boy turned into a girl would probably not work for the whole group... Combined with the explanation about what happened (as little as she remembered) and their hostility to Guilimon, they'd never trust her. It would be the tipping point between "crazy story" and "complete lunatic".

And she had a feeling that she really needed their help.

"...I guess it's because I'm kind of a tomboy..." She lied.

"That explains why your clothes are so baggy... Hey, you're not hiding a figure too, are you?!" Yatsumi said, almost threateningly.

"Um.. I don't think so..." She said honestly. She had no plans to check again...

However, Taira was on the case. A girly shriek filled the air for a second.

'Was that me?!' Takako thought in surprise.

Taira had pulled on the back of her shirt, in an attempt to pull it tighter. Takako had thought she was trying to remove it.

"Hm, nope. Flatter chest that Ya..."

"Taira..." A blonde growled.

"Ya...Yaours truly..."

"Better."

"What are you doing?! I nearly had a heart attack!" Takak protested.

"Well, um... Where was I?"

"Hazard symbol." Patamon reminded.

"...Well, um... He just does. He can be aggressive if he fights bad guys... And as for where we're from..."

The others looked. Takako was nervous, not sure if the truth would even work. Not sure if what she was remembering was even the truth, in fact.

"...This is going to sound crazy and I don't know much about it myself..."

She put a hand in her pocket, and noticed that the small black box was indeed there.

"If you can defeat her, open this. It will absorb all the data she stole, allowing it to automatically be returned. We can then fix all the worlds and bring you back to yours."

"...But I'm from another dimension and I'm following someone who might destroy my world and this one."

Takako awaited the laughter, or the other denials that were sure to come...
