Ruki Makino sighed as she regarded the new garments that had arrived. Junior High's lack of a dress code had been somewhat a spoiler for the future, for now she stared at something she hated wearing
A uniform.
It was a good High School of course, but... she really wished it had better uniforms. Black skirt and a dark blue blazer, with white blouses below. The summer uniform was, in her view, worse. But she had to put them all away until she actually started High School.
And that was when she realised she hadn't actually went into the closet she had stored her uniforms in for years. Her better clothing was kept separate from the dreaded uniforms, her heart shirts and her jeans, and yes, even the few dresses she had eventually consented to wearing. The other closet was for the stuff that simply wasn't, in her eyes, fit to wear. Bad Times and Boredom. Bad uniforms, boring school... She had liked Junior High far more than elementary and now she was concerned High School might just be tainted by the uniforms.
Upon opening a door to that closet, she was not too surprised to see the old uniforms she'd abandoned, but she was a little surprised to see something lying below them.
A pair of her blue jeans. She picked them up, noting they had saw better days. They were faded, ripped, torn... But why were they here, even trashed? Surely she should have thrown them out?
Then she saw the brown stains near one tear, and sighed. Presumably she'd gotten herself injured and attacked. A few cuts and bruises, but enough to have trashed the jeans, and enough for her to have also bled all over them.
Then she noticed other trashed shirts and jeans there too, just hidden in the shadow of the closed door. Uniforms and clothes wrecked when she'd got herself injured.
Looking at the fact everything in there was just a reminder of bad times and boredom, she made a choice. She might hate the uniforms, but maybe, just maybe, if she wore uniforms coming out of the other closets, then perhaps the school might not suck as much...
...It was a stupid thought really, but it couldn't hurt to leave the ripped and faded jeans behind to keep all the bad times and boredom in.
