Down below, Chocotrimon had problems.
"Drat! Why can't I fly?!" He cursed as his attempt to take flight failed once again.
He ran inside his castle, trying to merge with his chocolate... but it resisted him. He had a blob in the shape of a Gazimon formed, but frowned in confusion when there was just one blob.
"Nothing is...This is that brat up there I bet. Well, I'll show him..."
Chocotrimon paused.
"...As soon as I remember if I put any stairwells in here."
Feet sinking into the chocolate, with caramel blobs advancing, and now the statues of his friends all moving and descending upon him, TK did not have much optimism.
The chocolate form of Tai opened his mouth, and TK expected to be hit by a blob any second, even as MagnaAngemon was moving in to try and pull him away from the chocolate.
"...TK..." The blob said.
"Wha... MangaAngemon, wait!" TK commanded, taking a good look at things. Everyone was moving all right, but most of them were trying to move around him.
"What... Are they moving to protect you?"
The blob of chocolate nodded.
"Yeah. I don't... Don't know how but we have some control over ourselves. Wait... Izzy says he might have an idea... I'll let him..." Tai's voice said, sounding muffled like it was underwater.
Tai's face then shifted slightly, and TK noticed something else. He wasn't being absorbed by the chocolate- it was just softening... He looked back up and saw Tai's shape replaced by Izzy.
"TK, I think when you managed to get the castle and us petrified it broke Chocotrimon's link. He seemed to need a few moments when he absorbed us to properly control our shapes, and figure out our Digivices."
"Huh? I don't get it..." He said, and then yelped as a chocolate hand grabbed a blob from mid-air.
"Nice save, huh?" Kari's voice said from the chocolate shape that had made the save.
"It seems he needs to spread slowly, or the other minds he absorbs can fight back. Some of the first digimon in the village say they almost shook him off when they were all hit together, about a dozen of them... and I guess he's now trying to slowly get that control back. "
"Oh... I don't follow, but... What about the blobs?"
"Independent of him I'm afraid but we seem to be able to absorb them. I don't know how long we have though... He seems to be getting control of the first Digimon he attacked again."
"Ah. I guess that's our cue to hurry up?"
"Not unless you want to find out what it's like to be chocolate and sharing your mind with everyone else..." A blob that sounded like Mimi said.
TK nodded, and MagnaAngemon landed, starting the process of the MagnaAntidote...
"Wait until we clear the blobs. We're holding most of them just now but if one got you or MagnaAngemon before then we're in trouble." Sora's voice said from somewhere.
"Sure. Just, I think we should hurry... This place is melting and I'm kind of sinking in..." TK reported back
"Damn it... Had to make stairs... Still can't fly... Haven't stole back flying power yet... Need to stop him... Need those Digidestined back in the blob... Need to... need to..."
Chocotrimon babbled as, slowly, he managed to regain control of more and more of the castle, enough to help him work his way to the roof. However, it was leaving him exhausted, as he expended energy to regain power whilst trying to run his way to the roof.
But he was also gaining it, stealing from the creatures he re-absorbed, siphoning off some of their energy as they became just minds in the blob he controlled.
He burst out onto the roof, literally, in time to see a number of blobs melting into the castle... and an Angel glowing as he was using a curative attack. MagnaAngemon and TK glanced up, MagnaAngemon holding TK in one hand and keeping his blade ready with the other. The ground around them, and the forms of the Digidestined that were melting away, glowed and began to break away, as they reformed below, reverting.
"No! No, stop, you little brat, you're ruining everything!" Chocotrimon screeched, and then gasped.
He looked down... and saw white feathers among his brown.
"What... What are you doing to me?!"
TK however, did not need Izzy to tell him.
"The Antidote must be undoing his data boosts... or whatever it was Ken did...." TK guessed. MagnaAngemon nodded.
"TK, I should warn you... This is a lot more complicated than reverting a dozen or so keychains and I'm having to fly on top of that. If he attacks we might be in trouble..."
Chocotirmon, turning whiter with every passing second, screeched in rage and confusion.
"No... No... I need.. Can't... Let me... Stop! Stop it!" He wailed
"Let's hope he keeps freaking out until we're done..." TK noted, glancing down.
A large hole had formed in the castle, and below, he could see the village square reforming... and the other humans were starting to reform out of chocolate and into their normal selves. Some of the Digimon were coming back as well, but there was still a little while to go.
"Almost done... Even if we get attacked soon hopefully I've spread the antidote enough that the whole blob will revert, and Chocotrimon too..."
Chocotrimon seemed to catch his bearings, just as all that remained of the castle glowed so brightly TK and MagnaAngemon had to close their eyes.
"Yikes! I guess everything's reverting?"
"I hope so.... Because, er, I think I'm about to regress to Patamon in a minute..." MagnaAngemon said.
"What... No! You can't undo my work! Nooo!" Chocotrimon screamed, now almost half white feathered, and feeling his castle vanish beneath his feet. He could not fly, but he could flap.
And with an attempt, he beat his wings, and aimed in the midst of the glow.
"This is for ruining everything!" He screeched, firing his eye beams, a mix of green and purple, before the glow intensified, and everything was lost to sight.
A few moments later, in a restored town, Yolei groaned as she awoke.
"Ow.... I feel tired... Oh, hey, I'm not chocolate..." She reflected, and then looked at her hands.
And then she noticed the bird's feet beside her, and glanced up to see a Cockatrimon standing over her, blinking in confusion.
"...Hawkatrimon?" She asked.
"...Ruined everything... Brat.. Can't see... Got him, must have got him..." It babbled.
"Oh... Crap..." Yolei cursed and tried to back away. It heard her, and even with eyes not focusing, he looked down.
"...Brat.. Digi brat... Another one... Well, if I'm a lame old Cockatrimon now, I'll just have to turn you to rocks and smash you.... Oh yes, that brat and his angel were up high... Pulverised!" He cackled.
Yolei screamed, closing her eyes as she heard the sound of a Petrifier attack... And then opened them.
She saw two Cockatrimon for a moment. One stood upright, looking surprised. Another was slumping down and reverting to a smaller bird.
The surprised one was not, as it had been turned to stone. Hawkmon hit the floor with a groan.
"...You okay, Yolei?" He moaned, as his partner raced to him.
"Yeah... You?"
"Just a little under the feather... I'll be okay..."
Yolei groaned, half from her own tiredness, and half at the pun. She glanced around, seeing everyone else was mostly stirring awake.
"Wait... Where are TK and Patamon?" She asked, and then remembered what the bird had said before petrification.
"Pulverised?!" She realised, leaping to her feet... and seeing that one of the restored houses had a hole in the roof.
"Oh crap... Don't tell me..." She raced into the building, and found amongst the wreckage, two forms.
Both were moving, and groaning.
"Phew. You guys had me worried...." Yolei said, slumping in the doorway.
"...You were worried? I just crashed through a freakin' roof!" Patamon moaned.
"So did I..." TK groaned
"Yeah, but you landed on me..."
"Good point... Why aren't we dead?" The human asked.
"...We're not? Sure feels like we are... Ow..."
Once everyone was semi-lucid, and TK and Patamon crawled out of the house, Joe gave the two falling stars a check-up. Patamon was fine, Digimon being rather less fragile than humans as a rule, but alas, not even in the Digital World would crashing through a roof leave a human unscathed. As well as a few cuts and bruises, there seemed to be other injuries...
"Ow... Yeah, that's fractured or broken..." TK winced as Joe prodded his arm.
"Feels like a fracture. You said your ankle was sore too?"
"Just twisted I think."
"Either way we need to keep you off that leg and watch your arm." Joe said
You tripped during the basketball game, right?" Matt added.
"I think so, yeah. Why?" TK wondered.
"Cover story. Adrenaline or something stopped you noticing. How did you guys get here?" Joe asked.
"Through Yolei's computer. Her house is closer..." Cody said.
"By three doors... " Yolei griped, not liking having to bring people into her room and use her computer for a Digiport, even with her family clued in on the truth.
"So... What about him?" Kari asked, pointing at what had been Chocotrimon.
"Leave him there. We'll keep an eye on him." One of the village Digimon replied.
"You sure? We could take him out of here to somewhere he won't be a problem if he turns back..." Davis offered.
"It's fine. You can keep a check on him yourself if you want but the only reason we won't smash him is he'll be reborn in Primary Village if we do... Ground rule of what happens when you get shattered petrified." Another villager said.
"I'll try to not keep that in mind, thanks... I'm going to have enough trouble sleeping tonight..." TK said, wincing as Joe prodded his foot.
"Okay guys... So, let's head home. And maybe get TK to a doctor..." Tai suggested.
"And throw every piece of chocolate in our house in the trash..." Davis muttered.
Veemon froze in place in horror.
"...T-t-trash?! The trash?! My chocolate?! Nooooooo!"
And so, with one slightly injured human and one horrified Digimon, the Digidestined returned home. Or rather, took TK to a hospital.
