The blobs of chocolate shot out, but unlike the last two victims, the others were more alert. The Digimon all leapt out of the way when targeted, and the humans dodged as well... Mostly. Kari had tried to jump left, only to have barely a second to screech in shock as she slammed into Davis, who had rather foolishly tried to help her dodge.
The two hit the ground, and Kari quickly looked herself over to ensure she hadn't been hit.
"Crap! My shoe!" She shouted, but had an idea. The blob had only hit the sole of her shoe, so she felt she had nothing to lose.
She kicked the shoe off, watching it fly off, leaving her socks and toes unaffected.
Chocotrimon's stomach, was not.
"Owch... That hurt! How very rude to kick a friend in the stomach, Kari!" He admonished, before cackling and sprouting chocolate wings from Sora's back. Stingmon's wings.
"Well, seems I have to fly. I don't invite you to my castle, unless you want to take me seriously... But you might at least want to try as I'm going to head to Earth in about half an hour. Just need to figure out this D3... Oh, and if you really want to try breaking in, I'll just have to add you to the collection."
And with that, he flew off. Kari's shoe meanwhile was now solid, and melting, chocolate. She herself however, was reaching meltdown.
"Uh, Kari, you look kind of angry..." Davis said.
"I am angry! You two idiots nearly got us and the others all killed taunting him like and then you try to save me and what happens? I nearly get turned into chocolate sauce!" She ranted.
"Whoa, Kari, calm down, I didn't do anything!" Veemon protested.
"Not you! That blond idiot!"
"Hey, look, I'm sorry but what do you want me and Davis to do? Be polite to lunatics?" TK shot back.
"You could try and be a little more sensitive you morons, it just took Ken, her brother's been kidnapped by that idiot and a girl who's like her sister is possessed!" Yolei shot in.
TK's glare in response to that reminded Yolei just how stupid what she said was, but before TK could speak himself, Cody broke in.
"Guys! Stop this! Why are we fighting each other?"
"I'm with Cody. Yeah, we're idiots, but let's try and focus here, can we?" Davis said.
The three who had actually been arguing looked somewhat sheepish.
"...You're right. Sorry, I got a little spooked there... " Kari frowned.
"And, uh... Sorry, TK, I really wasn't thinking that one through... But you can be really scary when you look at people like that." Yolei said.
TK sighed.
"It's okay. We're all a little freaked out I guess... But anyone got any ideas on how to actually win?"
There was a round of shrugs.
"...Maybe you guys could fight again while we think, that was fun." Gatomon suggested.
TK took one look at her again.
"Yikes! Yolei's right! That glare's worse than a Cockatrimon!"
"That's it!" Yolei suddenly shouted.
The stares at her were more confused than scary.
"...TK glares at him and scares him into giving up?" Patamon wondered.
"No! What can Hawkmon digivolve to?"
"Aquillamon?" He said, nervously.
"Nope. What else? Come on, you're a bird..."
Gatomon grinned.
"We can use a REAL Cockatrimon! Chocolate blobs won't be a threat if they're turned to stone, will they?"
"Please don't make me become a Cockatrimon... They can't fly..." Hawkmon moaned.
"Jeez, what is it with bird Digimon and fear of not flying? I get airsick when I can fly..." Veemon noted.
"Shut up and Digivolve." Yolei demanded.
Five minutes later, Yolei sighed.
"Okay, Hawkmon was right. This does suck."
The entire group was now on foot as flight would simply mean that three of them would go too far ahead of the others. Pegasusmon and Nefertimon were on the ground walking, and carried TK, Davis, Kari, and Cody respectively (Kari had tried to throw her remaining shoe at Davis when he had suggested he share Nefertimon's back with her). Yolei rode an increasingly irritated Cockatrimon, while ExVeemon and Ankylomon walked.
"You think it sucks for you? I. Can't. Fly!" Cockatrimon moaned.
"Can we call our one something else? I'll get confused if we keep saying Cockatrimon and Chocotrimon..." Davis said.
"...How about we just call him Hawkmon still? Or Hawkatrimon?" Kari suggested.
"That'll do. We're getting close. We remember the plan?" Davis said, hopping off Pegasusmon as Cody and TK also dismounted. Yolei hopped off "Hawkatrimon".
"...How is that less confusing than Chocotrimon?" Yolei wondered.
"Never mind that. The plan, Yolei?"
"Oh, yeah. You guys attack the blobs, and draw them out. Then I try and get Hawkatrimon to petrify the whole castle, you digivolve Pegasusmon up to MagnaAngemon and go to the top of the castle, and try to turn it all back while we keep watch for Chocotrimon and keep you covered."
"Speaking of blobs..." Cody warned. The castle walls had large blobs emerging from them.
"Great... WarGreymon... MetalGarurmon... Lillymon... Birdramon... All the strongest forms of everyone he caught." Kari sighed.
"I guess he's able to use the Digivices." Cody noted.
"Or they might just be chocolate copies that look like them to freak us..."
Davis never finished his sentence as the WarGreymon fired a Terra Force at them. A somewhat modified, chocolate variation.
"Kind of a moot issue! Dodge!" TK shouted.
Everyone did. As they picked themselves up, there was a hail of attacks, most falling short, as TK grabbed his Digivice.
"You ready, Pegasusmon?"
From atop the castle, Chocotrimon, back in his own body, watched with glee, then realised what he was looking at. His minions had been told to simply attack the Digidestined, knowing that he had no need to use any tactics when sheer numbers would win the day, but he had been thinking in terms of expected Digivolutions the others knew. He had overlooked possibilities of alternatives.
"...No matter. Just hit the one Digivolving then get that damned bird...."
At this, the shots all seemed to be aimed.
"TK! Look out!" Kari shouted, as she and Nefertimon dived down. The girl leapt from her Digimon's back and in front of TK, while Nefertimon got in front of the still-Digivolving MagnaAngemon.
The pair of them took every hit head on. Kari did not scream as she was encased in a vast blob, that retracted and drew back towards the castle right away, taking her with it. Nefertimon's melting form flowed away as well, the two blobs flowing at a breakneck pace away and into the castle.
"Kari!" Davis shouted, failing to realise his own problem as a blob promptly slammed into him and ExVeemon. They too were now on their way to absorption.
"Now! Do it now!" Yolei shouted, as the forms of the attacking Digimon all turned to regard her.
"I can't! If the blobs that absorbed the others aren't with the rest they might not be restored by MagnaAngemon."
MagnaAngemon himself meanwhile used Gate of Destiny as a shield to allow a hail of enemy attacks to sail off into nothingness.
"They're almost there!" Cody reported, still dodging the enemy attacks. Ankylomon was dodging as well.
"They're in, do it and we'll go now!" MagnaAngemon shouted, whilst dropping the gate, grabbing TK, and taking to the air.
Hawkatrimon took a glare at the castle, hoping that this plan worked...
