The six younger Digidestined were on their way also, unaware of what was transpiring. They had been delayed waiting for TK, as Gatomon refused to leave without Patamon, Veemon refused to leave without Gatomon, Wormmon refused to leave without Veemon, Yolei refused to leave without Ken, and Armadillomon had wandered off with Hawkmon to try and use a vending machine. It wasn't a huge delay, ten minutes at most.
"If this was something cool and we missed it I'm blaming TK for the next year." Davis grouched.
"Hey, it was Veemon who waited." Gatomon shrugged.
TK himself remained silent on the matter. He wasn't in the best of moods anyway - the basketball team had lost.
"Guys, why don't we stop arguing like idiots and just move to where we were supposed to meet Mimi?" Ken sighed.
There was general agreement, even from the idiots. They picked up the pace, and soon, were in the same spot as the others had been in moments before, with similar confusion. Except for one addition.
"Hey, there's something green down there..." Yolei squinted, as Ken produced a monocular.
"...When did you start bringing that?" Kari wondered.
"I always have, it's just there's never been anything far away to look at." Came the reply.
"Well, what is it?" TK asked. Ken doublechecked, and then cursed.
"It's Sora. She's just lying there..."
The others were soon filled with concern.
"If Sora's hurt then everyone else..." Davis began
"We need to go help them!" Kari said, almost running until Ken and Yolei grabbed her.
"Hold on! We can't rush in. That village looks really weird!" Ken warned.
"Yeah. All brown... Why is that?" Gatomon wondered.
"Call me crazy, but it looks like Chocolate..." Veemon said.
Ken took another look.
"...It is, I think."
"Never mind what it's made of, we need to go see Sora's okay then find the others!" TK exclaimed.
At this, he produced his Digivice, and had Patamon evolve to Pegasusmon. Kari did the same, Gatomon becoming Nefertimon.
"Hold it. We can't all rush in, we've no idea what happened. Yolei, you digivolve Hawkmon and the six of you go grab her and see she's okay. Davis, Cody and I will wait here." Ken advised.
"...It's as good a plan as any. And if there is trouble we can come save your butts..." Davis agreed.
"Well, what'll it be, Yolei?" Hawkmon asked.
"...Aquilamon. I can still ride your back and you can grab Sora with your feet if it comes down to it. It's better than nothing if we have to move fast."
Hawkmon nodded in agreement as he too was Digivolved.
The trio of Digimon and their human riders flew the distance to the village. Yolei and Aquillamon remained aloft, while Kari, TK, Nefertimon and Pegasusmon landed. The two humans cautiously ran over to their fallen friend and knelt beside her, checking her over. She lay just at the edge of the strange village, feet lying on the chocolate road, and the rest of her lying on the unconverted dirt track.
"...She's out cold, but I don't see the others around at all..." TK reported. Kari produced her Digivice.
"I'm getting signals from all their Digivices... Maybe they're in the town..." She said, moving to stand and head in, only for Yolei to shout a warning.
"Look out! There's something coming out of the walls!"
Blobs began emerging from the walls, taking the shapes of various Digimon that began to advance upon the pair.
"...Are they made of Chocolate?!" TK exclaimed.
A Cat's Eye Beam from Nefertimon, and an Equus Beam from Pegasusmon were the replies, causing a small group of blobs to burst. They immediately reformed, and at the same time, the village itself began to melt.
"Yolei, get Sora, I think we need to get out of here!" Kari shouted up, as the mass of chocolate began to form into a wave.
The airborne bird-rider and her Digimon swooped down, the talons of Aquillamon carefully picking up the stricken girl, before beating his wings and flying away. More and more blobs were forming, and Nefertimon and Pegasusmon could only provide covering attacks as Kari and TK ran to climb back on them.
"Run faster!" Nefertimon yelled, for a number of the blobs were now bearing down on them with speed.
Kari reached Nefertimon as TK was climbing onto Pegasusmon, and the two then took off, Pegasusmon shooting a Star Shower to slow the advancing blobs down, as they flew away. The blobs gave chase for a few moments, then melted down, flowing back to the village, or rather, the massive blob it had became...
"What the heck is going on down there? Some of those blobs looked like... I saw an Agumon and a Gomamon shape in them!" Gatomon said once she devolved.
They had regrouped with the others, and now watched the blob, which seemed stationary for the moment.
"I've no idea... Maybe Sora knows, if Ken can get her to come round." TK sighed, as Ken tried to gently wake her.
Kari nodded nervously.
"...I hope everyone's okay." She said quietly.
"Me too. It looks like whatever is happening down there the others have been caught... So I guess it's up to us to save your brother and everyone else." Davis said.
"I think whatever happened down there it's either mimicking or it's copied whoever it captured... I saw a Gabumon and a Tentomon in those blobs for sure, and there might have been a Palmon." Patamon said.
"So, we're assuming that the blob of... Chocolate... is cloning everyone it caught. We need to try and figure out a way to..." Davis began, then paused.
"...Did the village just turn into a castle?" Cody asked, in surprise.
"Yes... A castle made of chocolate... Chocolate that might eat us from the sound of it..." Hawkmon noted, as Veemon shuddered.
"That's the only kind of chocolate I don't like..."
"Great. We have to storm a chocolate castle controlled by who knows what that's done I don't know what to our friends when we have no idea what it's going to do..." Yolei sighed, but she was replied to by Ken shouting.
"Guys, she's waking up!"
The others rushed over, crowding around her as she groaned, blinked, opened her eyes....
...and then screamed.
