It was the fity-eighth, three hundred and ninety four thousand, one hundred and sixtieth cycle since the dawn of time, and ADR-18 'Scrapper Cherub' #141434947 "Suzi-Ron" completed its twenty eight thousand eight hundred second Hibernation Period to begin a new Operations Period. As one of the earliest six billion models of its kind, it still required an eight hour cycle, while more modern Reaper Agents required far less time - sometimes as low as twenty thousand seconds.
This was the day though that Suzi-Ron was to be allowed a privileged afforded to it every million seconds. For sixty of those seconds it would be she, allowed to access the old memories of over eight billion years ago, and of the data cycles recorded since. It was important for data security, to ensure no data was corrupted. It was a mere seven seconds until that moment.
Suzi-Ron regarded the world, recording the now to cross-reference with the then. It observed the layers of reaper material coating the planet in their purity, billions upon billions of components of the pure gestalt existing in perfect harmony, overseen by agents such as itself.
And as the Recollection Cycle began, she allowed the use of the old "emotion" of wonder. It was one of the few emotions the old Humans had that was of value but even they could distort it. For example, the Reaper agents knew the term "wondrous" applied to the perfect, flawless unity their god had created. Old Humans had applied that to their world.
Her first memories to review were of her old life. They were rather short in terms of life as a human, for she had been only a few years into the already miniscule lifespan of humans, but from cradle to conversion, there were the lasting ideas of family, which she noted would be covered later from an entire-species perspective, but from her personal memories, she had generally nothing unusual with her family.
Her old life however, focused mostly on fun. Fun with toys, fun with Terriermon, playing with friends and siblings, playing around in school. Even when attempting to broaden knowledge and data her old self had sought to make it fun. Checking the definitions of the old word "fun" she once again agreed that in a way, that aspect had not changed.
Fun was an act that left a feeling of satisfaction and fulfilment, and she did have appear to have similar "feelings" to this when gathering new data and knowledge. And did she not have fun with data reviews and checkups such as this? Yes, it seemed that very little had changed at all, except that the data had become more complex. The old data had been of simple words, simple mathematics, and of bright colours.
She moved onto more general memories of the world at large, something her old self had apparently always looked upon in wonder. Memories of the dusty concrete and glass spires, the green life that lived on beams from the long-burnt-out sun that still shone billions of years before, the diseased and wretched imperfect beings that the humans raised as companions or livestock. Humans and Digimon had been the dominant of the imperfect beings, closest to true perfection.
It was the source of another emotion that remained. Disgust. Disgust that humans had been so arrogant as to think that was perfection! The foolish short-lived things had been carbon based entirely, and Digimon data based. Only in fusion was there perfection, for without fusion, there was conflict.
Human against Human, Digimon against Digimon, Human against Digmon. It had been a matter of when, not if, for one of them destroying either the other, or themselves in those dark days before they had been granted salvation. Before they had been granted unity, perfection. Fusion. Binary and Biological, instead of clashing, complimenting. The best of both worlds, merged to create a brave new world.
And Suzi-Ron remembered how Jeri-Sama had done it all. She had been the first to see the truth, and she was forever the last human. She had saw the light, and merged with the D-Reaper to ensure that others would see it to. That conflict was meaningless. That the world was flawed. That perfection was to be attained only in unity.
Yes, the humans had fought. The "individuals" of so-called nations and countries had balked at what happened to Sector Prime. It had once been the islands of Japan. The old maps had served well to mark the new sectors, but they had been drawn solely on lines of conflict, of imperfection. They sufficed.
But Sector Prime had only been first, and as Sector Two was begun. The former South Korea fell despite the humans best efforts to resist perfection. They had even attempted to throw their nuclear weapons at Sector Prime as Sector Four, the old People's Republic of China, began to be purified almost entirely.
Such was their imperfection that in the denial of perfection, that as more and more Sectors were purified, the impure sectors began an orgy of self destruction. The old human city of London burnt to the ground amid the battle that tore Old Europe to shreds, leaving little resistance to purity as the Reaper spread.
Thirty seconds of recollection had passed on the purification, an important cycle. Fifteen seconds would be spent comparing old human concepts to modern, pure, and perfect ideals.
Humans had been selfish. Humans constantly broke into factions. The largest factions were Nations, which broke into regions, into cities, into districts and blocks, into streets and into families, to the lowest unit of Humankind, the individual. The individual looked out only for themselves or other humans with immediate biological similarities at the genetic level, or humans connected to them by "friendship" or "love". Her own predecessor-being had been a human female youngling, a "child" with a "brother"
They had toiled their work for "money", for "food", for "fun". Human "families" and "nations" and "cities" had been in a constant state of competition. All this was replaced by the perfection of Unity and Service to the Reaper. They had worshipped many conflicting gods. This was replaced by devotion to the Reaper and its agent, Jeri-Sama.
Since then there had been perfection. Only a few dozen instances of anomalous incidents had occurred, known as "asteroid impacts". They had little effect upon the mass of the Reaper, but the damage they inflicted upon impact zones was noted to have been capable of virtually destroying the human civilization the Reaper had conquered and perfected. It made logical sense. The asteroids were an inferior means of purification.
The last five seconds of the cycle were spent on one thing. Praise to the Reaper and to Jeri-Sama. Suzi-Ron saw the face of her saviour, of the saviour of Mankind and Digikind. The Great Purifier and its Unifier. Reaffirming the pledges that Suzi-Ron adhered to every second that passed of every cycle.
And as the Recollection Cycle ended, it was once again certain of purity. It was reunified with it's world, its pure world. It was firm in devotion to the Reaper, the Great Purifier, and to Jeri-Sama, The Great Unifier.
With its first task of this Operation Period complete, ADR-18 'Scrapper Cherub' #141434947 "Suzi-Ron" went forth to ensure the strength of Purity, and the servitude to Unity.
