Rika felt the sensation of separating after the Biomerge, a warm tingling as she had her own body return from within the evolved form of Renamon, converting back from data to normal. It hadn't been a very hard fight at all, and Rika wondered if it had really been necessary to Biomerge.
"Renamon... Do you think..." She began, then felt her hand itch. She looked down and saw it seemed redder than normal, and for a second, was puzzled.
Then she noticed the redness wasn't her skin as such, but more the rapidly growing, fine layer of white fur growing. As she stared in numb surprise, she barely heard Renamon speaking.
"That's strange. I feel a little colder than usual."
Rika blinked out of the surprise and turned towards Renamon, and felt another wave of shock hit home. She could see visibly that Renamon was shorter. Her ears were getting smaller, and more surprisingly, her fur was now thinning. At that instant, Renamon seemed to notice this too, and stared at her body in wide-eyed shock. Her gloves slid off her now smaller limbs.
Speechless, Renamon turned to stare at Rika, and suffered the same second burst of shock that the tamer had experienced a few seconds ago. As Renamon's hair thinned and her body grew smaller, she blurted out an oddly stammering statement.
"R....Rika, you... You're growing fur!"
Rika looked back at her own body, and sure enough, thickening red and white fur were growing. She had also become taller, and now she was paying more attention became aware that her normal ears were shrinking, with fox-like ears now beginning to grow from her head. Rika's confused and shocked thoughs were suddenly interrupted by a tearing noise as her legs and hips began to expand, causing some problems for the now-too-small clothing Rika had worn. The belt of her jeans dug in tightly as the now larger Rika scrabbled quickly to undo it.
Renamon meanwhile was stood still in surprise, staring at Rika even as her own yellow fur and former figure had all but vanished. All that mostly remained was a thin layer of yellow fur over a very human body, and the lengthening of hair around her head, now way past her shoulders.
It seemed to stop a few moments later, after Rika had scrabbled to prevent whatever was happening causing more damage to her clothes, but her jeans were now badly ripped, her shirt stretched, and shoes burst. However, that was no longer a problem for her, for a layer of red fur now preserved her modesty.
Renamon was not quite so lucky, still standing completely shocked and unrecognizable to anyone but Rika. Of course, people like Takato and Henry would have far more pressing concerns than identifying the blonde long-haired girl who stood statue still before Rika.
Mostly the fact said girl was completely naked.
Almost on autopilot, Rika grabbed the stunned former Digimon, her former clothes, and raced into the bushes. At that point she freaked out.
"What just happened to us?!" She almost screamed, then quickly calmed down. Hiding here would have been pointless if she yelled and brought unwanted attention...
"It... It must have been the Biomerge. Some sort of data corruption or... I'm human," Renamon spoke, and interrupted herself.
"Yeah, and clearly I'm a Digimon but I get what you think happened..." Rika sighed.
Renamon, or rather, what had been Renamon, stared at her arms in confusion.
"I feel really bare without my gloves..." She muttered in surprise.
"You're bare without a lot more than your gloves," Rika noted, a little voice wondering if she'd began to be sarcastic as a defense mechanism. A second little voice then wondered why she was doing self-psychoanalysis.
Former-Renamon however missed this sarcasm, and spotted her gloves lying out in the open. She began to try and walk towards them, only for her bare feet to stand on something. She yelped in surprise and fell back. Rika caught her before she landed more sensitive areas on other painful objects.
"Uh, Renamon... I think for now you should put these on..." She said, gesturing towards the clothes.
"But what about the gloves?" Renamon whined. Ruki sighed, and ran out to quickly grab them.
"I think I should probably wear them..." She said.
Renamon's mind seemed to really catch up to things at that point, as she grew wide-eyed. Stoically, though, she didn't make any sound, and shook her head a few moments later. Rika's own process of catching up, if not quite understanding what had happened, died away with one last thought of how odd it was to put on Renamon's gloves. Renamon picked up the torn jeans, and then in confusion, glanced up at the Digimon before her.
"Rika... What do we do?"
Rika's only idea wasn't much of a plan, but it was all they had.
"I think we should go home for now..."

It hadn't been a perfect plan, or a perfect way to get it done, but the pair had managed to make their way back home. On the trip, Rika had found that anytime she felt like someone was coming it was easy to just slide into the shadows. Renamon seemed to retain some of that instinct transferred to her human body, for the girl in ragged clothing had an uncanny knack to find a good hiding spot. And the pair also managed to get into the house unseen, and into Rika's room.
"Okay, what now?" Renamon asked, thinking Rika had the plan.
"Well... I think first you need different clothes, and then we go see someone else. Maybe Henry might be able to help us..." Rika thought.
"Well, what clothes? I don't really know much about that..." Renamon noted. Rika realised something else, and went to a closet. She pulled out a clean, but clearly rarely-worn, dress.
"Put this on."
Renamon stared at it. It was pink, and did not look like something Rika would wear.
"Um... I've never seen you wear anything like that."
"Exactly. We don't want to get noticed. A blonde wearing my usual stuff? Someone will just think I dyed my hair..."
Renamon sighed, and got on with it, removing the torn clothing. As she did so though, Rika spotted something.
"Renamon, wait! Look at your hand!"
Renamon did so, and saw that the skin had turned a little red. White hairs were growing. With a grin, the blonde girl looked at Rika.
"Looks like this is your dress then."
Rika looked down, and saw her fur thinning.
"No way. I'll stick with my usual clothes, thanks. "
A few minutes later, things were almost normal visually, but the two still went towards Henry's home. They weren't going to pretend it never happened when the odds were good it would happen again, and that meant they needed to find out why.
Rika knocked on the door, and heard raised voices inside. Someone neared it, and she heard something like Terriermon whisper to someone else that it was Rika.
"Um... Rika... You can come in, but... Well, long story..." She heard Henry say sheepishly. She opened the door, and saw a blue-furred Terriermon. Beside him, an embarrassed looking white-haired boy. Two and two were quickly added, and Rika sighed.
"At least you shrunk out of your clothes..." She remarked, wondering how stupid Goggles and his idiot dinosaur would be looking...
