"Okay, you found your weird thing, can we head back now..."  TK complained, to general amusement.

Having spent most of yesterday playing for the school team in a basketball tournament on the other side of Tokyo and arriving back in Odaiba after midnight thanks to the coach breaking down, TK was not pleased to be here. For some reason Izzy had wanted to investigate something strange he'd detected in the digital world, and this required all six of the younger Digidestined.  And so, TK found himself trying to stay awake, sitting atop a cliff in the digital world, in the middle of nowhere.

"Not yet. This phenomenon needs to be investigated." Izzy replied.

"It's a spot where gravity doesn't apply and things hover off the ground, it's not that great!"

"Come on, TK, aren't you interested in how the digital world works? We need to find out what causes this." Ken added.

"Indeed. These strange readings have appeared many times before but we've never had an opportunity to really get up close and investigate..." Izzy began explaining, causing TK to sigh and lean back, only for a swift and not entirely gentle kick to make him sit up again.

"I wasn't going to close my eyes! Jeez..." He grouched as Kari grinned.

She and Davis had appointed themselves to the role of keeping the tired Digidestined of Hope awake, since unlike the other four present, they too were not very interested in the odd phenomenon.  The Digimon too hadn't been very interested and were largely just playing around nearby.

"Well, better safe that sorry." Yolei noted.

"Not very safe when people keep kicking me..."

TK sighed and looked down the cliff. It was bas enough he felt like sleeping for a year, but the waves of the ocean below and the sea air just made him even sleepier. It seemed even a digital seaside could be a little too relaxing.  

Then he saw the strange Digimon on the beach. It looked like it was mostly tail, two shades of green, and with two legs. Most of its body was a long wide tail, while it had two long curved ears by the look of it. The pattern on the tail was of darker green v-shapes . It walked the sands, and for a second it glanced up at the group, but kept walking along the sand and ignored them.

'What is that...' He thought.

"You don't know?" A voice said, causing him to jump. Gatomon had wandered over beside him. Patamon landed beside her, both Digimon grinned. Veemon also had wandered over, and he too seemed to find whatever TK had said amusing.

"...Did I say that out loud?"

"Yup!" Patamon confirmed.

"So, what is it then?"

"You don't know?!" Davis said, clearly amused. TK felt lost.

"...No."

To his bewilderment, the three Digimon began snickering, while Davis just grinned and Kari laughed.

"Wow, how tired are you? It's a Milamon!" Gatomon said.

"...A what?"

"A Milamon. Come on, even I know what they are!" Davis said.

"Uh... Remind me?"

"Well, it doesn't look like it, but that little thing down there is really powerful." Kari said.

"Yeah. You remember that one we saw fighting that  bunch of Veggimon? Only one Milamon, about fifty of the Veggimon. Didn't even break a sweat." Patamon added.

"...I don't remember that at all." TK said, puzzled.

"If it swings its tail to attack it can launch what it hits for miles, literally. Even a Greymon won't mess with one. You really don't remember?" Gatomon noted.

TK was about to ask when exactly that had happened, but yawned instead. Gatomon gasped, and to his confusion, everyone else looked alarmed.

"...It's cool, I don't think it saw you." Gatomon said, and everyone relaxed, confusing TK.

"What... What did I do?"

"You yawned." Davis helpfully told him."

"I know that!" TK growled loudly, and Gatomon quickly motioned for him to be quiet.

"Look, the thing about Milamon is, it's not very big. So bigger Digimon make a mistake and try to eat them a lot. They open their mouths wide and roar at them so often a Milamon thinks that something like yawning or shouting means whatever's doing it is a threat. If he'd saw you there  he might have thought you were threatening him." Gatomon said.

"And that's not good. You're not much heavier than a Veggimon so you'd be thrown about three miles if he attacked..." Patamon added.

"And that might be straight up if he swung the tail vertically." Veemon added.

"But he's miles away! How could he even see me or hear me? Or get over here to attack me?" TK asked.

"They have great vision and hearing, but they can also jump really fast. They can throw themselves about with that tail." Kari said in reply.

"So, let me get this straight. It's able to use its tail to throw itself and enemies around, it gets spooked when it sees something open its mouth wide, or hears something roaring or shouting?"

"Yeah, basically." Davis nodded.

"But it's bigger than my head. How would it think me opening my mouth is a threat? It's not like I could swallow him whole."

"He doesn't know that. He's never seen a human before probably, so he might be freaked out by you already, so anything else weird you do might set him off." Gatomon pointed out. TK sighed. He'd realised what they were up to.

"...You're all lying aren't you?"

"Yup! Well, it's really called a Milamon, but I don't think it does all that we said." Patamon grinned.

"Why did you make all that up though?" TK groaned, leaning back, only for Davis and Kari to both kick him. He yelped and shot back up.

"While you were looking at it and asking what it was we didn't have to kick you..." Kari said sweetly.

"Yeah. Just trying to help..." Davis said.

"Next time I'm staying in bed..." TK grouched, rubbing his bruises...
