Officially, Mary was the Curator of the “Loviante Collection.”  The position required her advanced degrees in Artistic Composition and Architectural History.  But the actual duties only required creativity and cruelty.  The Loviante family was known in the highest circles of influence to possess an appetite for beautiful things.  They consumed beauty in such lavish excess it was frightening.

Mary’s job was to satisfy that appetite.

One of Mary’s most reliable tools in this pursuit was a girl she called Temple.  You see, Mary did more than simply acquire the comely figures that adorned Loviante Manor and the numerous other private offices and residences in the Loviante’s holdings.  Mary also allocated them throughout the composed décor of a room or a wing or a garden in the optimum fashion.  Each “piece” was a merger of function and form.  And although the raw materials Mary used were now objects as opposed to the individuals they were before they were harvested, Mary still had to allocate them mindful of the physiological limitations of each pieces’ specific anatomy.

The grain of each board of wood is unique.  But a little sanding and polish can do wonders.

And that’s where Temple comes in.  Temple is short of template, because that is how she is used.  Mary selected Temple from a batch of raw material harvested early in her term with the Loviantes.  Mary chose Temple because she was typical.  Not typical of an individual female.  Goodness!  Typical females would never garner the attention of the acquisition teams.  No.  Temple was supple.  She was smooth.  She was firm all over yet with a tension beneath the surface that felt luxurious.  She had classic, symmetrical features.  This fact made her suitable as a centerpiece or a fixture or even as a toy; all rolls where imperfections could not be disguised easily with objects of restraint or attachments of a particular function.  Temple could be ANYTHING in the Loviante collection.

Mary used to as a template for EVERYTHING.

Temple rarely exhibited signs of struggle.  This was one such time.  The 12 pound solid metal weights on either side of the manacles locked onto Temple’s wrists were dragging the spreader bar down, pinching both of her breasts against the molded metal half bra strapped tightly around her ribs and maintained in place with a snug strap that looped behind the back of her neck.  Short, parallel tracks were designed into he neck strap and prevented Temple from finding relief by pushing the weighted bar up and off her titties.  And the width of the gap was more than sufficient for the bar to travel up and down smoothly with no friction.  It’s weight would have to be bourn entirely by Temple’s flexed arms or supported by her breasts.

And making matters all the more strenuous, Temple’s ball gag was connected to the spreader bar by another solid metal shaft.  The length of that post was just right to tilt Temple’s head back, out of alignment with her spine.  This position force her to hold the weight of her head with the small stabilization muscle of her neck rather than rest it on her skeletal system.  If Temple tried to rest her head, she would title her chin down and work with he metal weights to pinch her breast painfully into the unyielding metal cups.

Mary casually reviewed design notes and sketches as Temple stood still a few feet to her right, trembling and sweating from her exertions.  There was no comfortable position available and Temple had tried them all.  Her hands stretch and grasped for anything they could hang onto for support, but there was simply nothing in reach.  Temple knew better than to wander the area.  Walking was always prohibited.  Consequences for walking were so severe that Temple almost never so much as shifted her weight.

But THIS time she was shifting considerably.  Mary’s amused grin filled her face.

Mary returned to her review of her designs.  This next piece would be a pedestal for a vessel of some sort.  Either a basin of water or a plant.  It would be something of significant weight, which was the reason for this particular predicament Temple was enduring.  Upper body resistance really was not Temple’s greatest strength but she served as a good benchmark.  She was lasting well enough for Mary to feel confident that certain other raw materials could be utilized for this particular work and succeed at maintaining the stillness that the Loviantes expect from objects in their collection.

Mary had collected enough data to move forward with selecting a permanent subject to transform and install.  Even so, left Temple to struggle longer.  Her petite fists were contorting as she squeezed them tighter.  The salvia that pooled up behind the ball and threatened to run down her throat instead trickled out in long lines down her cheeks and chin.  Beads of swear were forming a glistening sheen across her shoulders and chest.  Temples arms were shaking as her muscles approached failure.  Mary could only imagine just how much discomfort Temple was experiencing in her neck and back and shoulders having to maintain that pose for so long.  Temple’s suffering was remarkable and Mary relished every last drop of it.

Nothing motivates a sense of revenge like being turned into a human light fixture.  This was never a concern of the Loviantes.  Their collections were….permanent.  And even if one of their pieces should one day go missing, it would be little more than a shattered porcelain doll.  It would likely be incapable of formulating anything resembling coherent thoughts, let alone contemplating revenge for their objectified term of captivity.  Who would ever even THINK about moving against the Loviantes?

(On a derelict railroad track deep in the forest surrounding Paris, Kentucky…)

A perfectly executed “hammer drill.”  Tina emptied the 15-round magazine placing 3 rounds on center mass of each of the five paper targets.  She exploded up from her crouch behind a stump dropping the empty magazine in the process.  Heel toe, heel toe she glided to another point of cover, sliding onto her back into a narrow ditch and slapping another full magazine into the well of the Glock’s hilt.  She extended her strong arm out away from her body just barely above the lip of the ditch and sent two round into the head area of each paper target.  Next Tina rolled her legs into her chest and summersaulted backward onto her feet.  She then walked directly to the final configuration of targets; one female silhouette with a taller, male shaped target on either side.  Tina spent her final five rounds on the male target to the right.  It was presumed to be wearing body armor.  The first round hit the center mass and was purely distractionary.  Next, one round went into each un-armored arm.  The last two round were head shots.  Tina was on top of the targets now and took a spinning pivot step to close the final distance.  As she did, she dropped the pistol and drew both 4-inch fixed blade knives from their scabbards.  Now finishing her pivot the final 180 degrees she slashed high under the chin with her left hand creating a huge gash across the throat area of the paper target.  Tina’s right hand stabbed the second knife straight into the head, burying its blade into the post supporting the target.

The choreographed maneuvers left Tina nose to nose with the final intact paper target, her remaining left-handed blade poised just an inch away from where the threat’s eye would be.  Tina’s right hand was around the wooden “throat” of the post the target was stapled to.

“Good to see you again Mary.  Where’s Mrs. Loviante?”
