When Nick got up the next morning, he felt exhausted. He had slept very restlessly and also felt a bit guilty about Eva. But whenever he thought about it, all he had to do was look in the mirror where a beautiful violet appeared on his face and try the feeling. He was just in the shower when the doorbell rang, he ignored it, but then it knocked and Nick got out of the shower annoyed. It was Sunday, who in God's name wants something from me. He thought to himself and opened the door with a towel around his waist. Eva stood in front of him, embarrassed, she looked up at him and blushed when she saw the violet. "Excuse me!" She murmured and held out a mug of coffee from the baker and a roll to Nick. Nick narrowed his eyes angrily, "Do you really think a coffee and a roll can make up for your behavior?" He snapped at Eva, who flinched. Nick's gaze fell on the doormat, a package wrapped in brown paper lay at his feet. He picked it up and looked at Eva again, "Come in!" He said curtly and went into the apartment. "Put the coffee and the rolls in the kitchen. I'll get dressed!" Eva closed the door, put the things away and sat down on the sofa without speaking. When Nick came back, he looked at Eva, who looked embarrassed into her lap and had bright red ears. Nick went into the kitchen and divided the coffee between two mugs, filled the rolls and didn't say a word while Eva watched him silently. When Nick was done, he sat down next to her on the sofa, "You certainly haven't had breakfast yet, have you?" And with that he handed her half the coffee and a bun with Nutella. She looked up gratefully, shook her head and bit into the bun with relish.

It wasn't until they both measured that Nick said, "What's the matter with you? You weren't like that until a few years ago? And now you hit people?" She looked up briefly, "I broke up this morning! So with Marius!" Her answer was almost a whisper, then she burst into tears that shook her whole body. Nick saw that and all the anger was gone, he slid up to her and gently took her in his arms. After a few minutes she calmed down, "Sorry...sorry!" "Swam over it." Nick said and smiled friendly, Eva smiled back shyly. Nick said getting up, "Another coffee?" "With pleasure." He pressed his machine and placed the two mugs underneath, while the coffee poured through, he looked at Eva, who looked down at her hands sadly. The coffee was ready and Nick sat down next to Eva again, "Cheer up little ones! There are guys like a dime a dozen." He pokes her in the side just for fun, which made her twitch and smile. "Oh, what's that? Can the face look a little friendly?" Nick said, mockingly surprised, and started attacking Eva's side, who kept jerking away and started giggling. "Nick! Please don't tickle!" She giggled and tried to grab his hands, but her hands kept coming through her defenses. Finally, Nick grabbed Eva's hands and pushed her back onto the sofa, as soon as she became aware of her situation his hand crawled up and down her sides. Squirming like a worm beneath him, Nick continued until Eva's face was wet with tears of laughter, he let go of her work and Nick sat up straight again. "That was mean!" Said Eva and giggled, "Thanks!" She didn't say and smiled at him. When she sat up, you could tell by the laughter and the tickle attack that she was a little bit better than before. Now that the mood was lightened, the two talked a little more informally about everything and everything, until the coffee was empty and Eva left.

Nick was just standing at the sink and rinsing the cups when his cell phone made a noise, he looked towards the desk and saw the still wrapped package. He had completely forgotten, he quickly set the cups down to dry and hurried to his desk. The packaging was quickly torn open, and in front of him was a box that was identical to his own except for a few differences in the wood. He opened it, the inside was lined with blue velvet instead of red, otherwise the boxes were identical. An envelope was taped to the mirror and he took it, sitting down while slowly opening it.

"He who proves himself worthy gets the privilege! If there is a mirror in the room, you can pass through it, unrecognized and without substance! Open the boxes, think of them, put your hands in them, knock twice on the bottom and it will be a miracle being!"

Nick read the letter twice, "Huh?" he said loudly and scratched his head. What privilege? Well, he now had two boxes and could only make two feet appear. But what was that about sticking your hands in? Nick swallowed, should he try it? He thought of who could he think of? Anna, Marie or someone else? Anna knew more or less about him, he didn't think twice, instead wrote a note and knocked on the first box. A gray sock with a white heel and white toe appeared after a pop and he saw Anna sitting at a rowing machine in high concentration. Her hair was plastered to her forehead and her face was flushed from exercise. Nick waited for Anna to pause so as not to startle her too much and ticked the middle of her foot three times. Anna was just able to suppress her scream and Nick was glad that he had waited, now he carefully pulled off the sock to the middle and put the note on his foot. After closing the box we had to wait, Nick didn't expect Anna to answer immediately and so he devoted himself to the housework, still pondering what the letter was all about.

After a good hour, Nick looked around with satisfaction, everything was tidy and clean again. Satisfied, he plopped down in his chair and patted the box. Anna's foot appeared again, but now she was wearing a pink sock and smelled fresh of soap. In the mirror he said Anna, who was blow drying her hair while humming and swinging her hips to the beat. Nick saw the bump under the sock where the note was and smiled. Nick drew attention to himself again, Anna was startled again, but this time totally unprepared, Nick had been a bit mean and let his finger dance over the sole for a moment.

Anna stood, covering her mouth and looking around, her head flushed red with embarrassment. Nick now pulled the sock off his foot and looked at what was written:

"Hey Anna! I would like to try something with you, do you agree? Do you trust me? Z"

That had been Nick's question, below which was the short and sweet answer, "Yes!" Nick nodded and wrote on the piece of paper again:

"Very good, thanks for your trust, tonight at 8 p.m. it will happen!"

Now he used the other box, knocked up and Anna's second foot appeared. He closed the other with the stowed message. Now he saw Anna sit down and take the note out of her sock, her eyes darting over the note, meanwhile she pulled a pen out of her purse and answered.

After a short knock, Nick had the note back:

"Am I going to meet you in person tonight?"

Nick smiled and wrote directly on the foot instead of on the note:

"Perhaps! ;)"

Anna immediately put her hand over her mouth and winced a little when the pen touched her sensitive soles. Nick just couldn't resist. Now he closed the box again and waited for her reaction in the other mirror. And he had to laugh out loud when she took off her socks and saw what was there, she whispered softly: "That was mean!"

And put the sock back on anyway with a slight smile.

The time until 8 p.m. just crept by, Nick gambled a bit in between, but couldn't really concentrate. Shortly before eight he couldn't stand it any longer, stood at his desk and put his hands in the lining of the boxes. His heart was beating wildly, what would happen? He swallowed hard again and tapped the bottom of the boxes with both hands.

It started with a gentle tug on his hands, all of a sudden he was pulled forward with a jerk and it went black.

When Nick opened his eyes he was lying on the floor, coughing as he sat up and stopping when he saw Anna. Shocked, he stopped moving, how was that possible? Had he brought all of Anna into his apartment? No, that wasn't his apartment! He looked around cautiously. He was in Anna's bedroom, his mind racing. Anna was lying in front of him on the bed, she was wearing comfortable leggings, a top and her weird slippers. "Sorry to burst in here!" Nick said, stuttering softly. No reaction, he stood up, "Anna?" He swallowed. Again no reaction. Nick frowned and looked down at himself, he was glowing bluish and sort of transparent. In a panic his heartbeat quickened and he looked around again, was he dead? Then he saw the large mirror on the wardrobe, where he saw himself as if through a window, he was standing at his desk, his eyes closed, with both hands in the boxes. It flashed through him like lightning, he was here as a kind of ghost, he went to the mirror and held out his hand. The moment he touched the surface, Nick's eyes widened at his apartment and he pulled his hands out of the boxes.

"How…..how is that possible?" Nick looked at the boxes, dumbfounded. Then he looked at the clock, now it was eight sharp, he swallowed again and put his hands back in the boxes.
