(This story is the final part of these stories Part 1 and Part 2).
The ogre was sitting on the ground, futilely trying to produce a tuned sound from his new accordion. He was in one of the dungeon’s rooms, which he had decided to use as his new base after the defeat of his goblin crew. His trusty hammer, made from the squished and compressed body of Layla, still bearing a dizzy expression, rested against the wall.
Meanwhile, the ogre sat cross-legged on his new rug, which was actually the flattened, circular body of Jane. Compared to when the ogre had initially crushed her with his hammer, Jane's body had grown significantly in size, now boasting a diameter nearly three times larger: it had taken several hammer blows to reach this size, but now the ogre could comfortably sit on his new carpet, which at the moment only showed the soles of the mage’s shoes at its center, surrounded by her blue robe.
However, the one in the worst shape was undoubtedly Sofia. Her body, crushed by the ogre’s hammer during the previous battle, had taken the form of an accordion: Sofia’s body alternated between being slender and elongated, and being compressed and nearly completely flat in the ogre’s hands. One end of the instrument bore her face, previously angry and determined to return to normal but now looked utterly weary and dazed after countless compressions.
Suddenly, a noise caught the ogre's attention: turning toward the corridor from which he had come, he saw the third and final member of the adventurers, Emily the rogue, frozen in place with wide eyes after being spotted by the massive monster. She had likely tried to sneak closer but must have bumped into one of the crates scattered around the room.
Seeing the poor girl paralyzed with fear, the ogre decided to take his time. He placed his accordion down and SQUISH! pressed it hard against the ground with his palm to eliminate even the remote chance of Sofia escaping. When the ogre lifted his hand, Sofia’s body was flattened into a flat disc on the ground, with her bare feet prominently displayed at the center.
Satisfied with his work, the ogre stood up with a malicious grin and began moving toward Emily, who remained completely motionless, not making a sound, as the monster closed the distance. When he reached her, the ogre raised his foot and SMASH! stomped without hesitation on the small rogue’s body, which disappeared beneath it.
All the adventurers were now out of commission, squashed by the massive ogre. He lifted his foot to retrieve his latest trophy...
...only to see Emily still intact, standing three-dimensionally and unmoving in the same position as before the stomp. Confused, the ogre attempted to grab the girl, but his hand passed through her as if she were a hologram.
"With clever use of the Minor Illusion spell, the rogue manages to fool the mighty ogre" announced Carla’s disembodied voice with a solemn tone.
Meanwhile, the real Emily had reached her companions: with some effort, she managed to peel Sofia’s flat, circular body off the ground and had just restored her to normal; the monk, still a bit dizzy, was glancing around.
It didn’t take Sofia long to recover, though: spotting the ogre’s hammer still resting against the wall, she immediately knew what to do.
The ogre was still attempting to grasp Emily’s illusory image when noises from behind made him turn around: he saw Sofia charging toward him, wielding the warhammer, which was almost as big as she was.
"HIAAAAAA!!" With a loud cry, Sofia swung the hammer and struck the ogre’s chest with tremendous force, catching him off guard. He was sent flying several meters back and, still weakened from the previous battle, collapsed to the ground, defeated.
"Phew, we finally did it!" Sofia cheered, dropping the enormous war hammer and collapsing onto the ground, exhausted. Emily approached her cautiously: "W-wow, Sofia! I didn’t think you’d be able to take him down in one hit" Emily hesitated, but eventually extended a trembling hand toward the monk to help her up.
Sofia grabbed Emily’s hand without hesitation, pulling herself up and nearly toppling the fragile rogue in the process: "You were the real hero, distracting that monster and restoring me! What was that magic you used to clone yourself?" "It’s a s-simple illusion trick that rogues can use..." Emily replied, blushing at the compliment.
"I didn’t think you’d be able to do it alone, but you saved us!" Sofia began ruffling Emily’s hair in a way reminiscent of Carla’s habit, eliciting pleased giggles from the rogue. Maybe Sofia wasn’t so bad after all, Emily thought.
"Now, Jane might still be useful in this form" Sofia said, turning toward the poor mage who was still flattened on the ground. She began rolling her up like the large circular carpet she had become "It’s better to carry her around like this, don’t you think, Emily?"
"W-what? B-but I think... we shouldn’t..." Emily stammered, caught off guard by Sofia’s sudden shift in attitude, as she was again trying to carry Jane along squished in some shape.
"Relax, Emily, I was just joking" Sofia reassured her with a laugh, and Emily let out a sigh of relief. In the meantime, Sofia had finished rolling Jane’s body into what looked like just a long roll of blue fabric "But aren’t you curious to see how much we could flatten her to make her even easier to carry?" Sofia teased with a mischievous tone.
"I-I think we should return her to normal as soon as possible!" Emily replied quickly, blushing. Even when it came to squishy shenanigans, Sofia was just as passionate as her sister, Emily thought.
After unrolling Jane once more, the two girls started working on her flattened body, and soon enough, Jane was back to her normal form, sitting on the ground and looking rather dazed.
"Are you okay, Jane?" Emily approached, worried about how many times Jane had already been squished and flattened today "Y-yes, but I don’t think I can handle any more... incidents today" Jane replied as she got up, trying to steady herself "And once we’re out of here, I’d like to have a word with Carla about all those hammer blows her ogre gave me to turn me into a carpet" Jane added, pouting and speaking in a resentful tone.
"Yeah, and don’t think you’ll get off the hook either after using me as an accordion, sis" Sofia chimed in, cracking her knuckles for emphasis. But the only response to their complaints was a guilty silence.
"I-I think we should help her too" Emily said, breaking that silence and pointing toward the massive war hammer left lying where Sofia had set it down. Layla’s body was still squished and compressed into the form the ogre had given her: her legs and arms formed the handle, her ample boobs and ass made up the hammer’s two sides, and her dazed and bewildered face was prominently displayed on the top.
Now that the danger had passed, they could better examine Layla: she appeared to be wearing a stereotypical white cleric’s robe, though it was hard to distinguish given the state of her body. As if responding to Emily’s observation, Carla’s disembodied and solemn voice filled the room: "Adventurers, you have found the queen of the realm, held captive by the dungeon’s monsters. Once you free her, she will join your party, using her cleric powers to aid you in your quest..."
"No" Sofia interrupted flatly, walking calmly toward the hammer and beginning to fiddle with Layla’s body "Huh?" Jane, Emily, and Carla responded in unison "Why don’t you want to return your mother to normal, Sofia?" Jane asked, shocked.
"Carla, have you lost your mind?" Sofia shot a glare upward as she sat on the ground, continuing to compress Layla’s body "Mom’s out of commission now, but if we restore her, she’ll never agree to follow your rules. She’ll enlarge herself back to normal in no time, and we’ll spend the weekend squished into cleaning rags. Is that what you want?"
"Uh, well, no, I don't think she'll..." Carla tried to argue weakly, lacking conviction "You didn’t even ask her to join; you just flattened her out like you did to us, didn’t you?" Sofia continued, cutting her off.
"...Yeah" Carla admitted, defeated "Then it’s better she stays like this if we want to finish this adventure" Sofia concluded, admiring her handiwork: Layla’s body was still compressed into a war hammer, but now reduced to a size suitable for Sofia. Layla’s chest and rear now made up the entire hammerhead, with her face no longer visible beneath those two massive features.
"In this state, we should have a few hours before she recovers" Sofia continued, rummaging through the crates scattered around the room for a strap to tie her new hammer to her back "And if all goes well, Mom won’t know about any of this, and Carla will be the sole target of her wrath when we’re out of here" Sofia added in a low voice, grinning at Jane and Emily, who had been silently following the exchange between the two sisters.
"What a family..." Jane thought, exasperated, while Emily seemed almost admiring the strange dynamics between mother and daughters.
"So, Sofia, are you planning to use that hammer as a weapon?" Jane asked, changing the subject "Yeah, why?" Sofia responded, slightly surprised.
"Well, your class is the monk, which excels in unarmed combat. Using a two-handed hammer like that might put you at a disadvantage" Jane explained, adjusting her glasses "What do you mean, exactly?" Sofia asked, genuinely puzzled "Fighting with a weapon is obviously better than fighting bare-handed, isn’t it?"
"Well, you’re not wrong, but according to the rules, monks have bonuses when fighting unarmed..." Jane began to explain academically, only to be cut off by Sofia "Bah, you nerds and your rules! You don’t know anything about real combat. Come on, let’s go!"
Sofia abruptly ended the conversation and started heading toward the next corridor, with the other two girls following behind and her new hammer strapped to her back.
*************************************************************
The group resumed their journey down yet another torch-lit corridor, proceeding in their well-practiced formation: Emily in the lead, checking for traps, Sofia in the middle, and Jane bringing up the rear, marking their path in her book in case they found themselves in another labyrinth. However, unlike before, Sofia’s demeanor had shifted, now moving with focused vigilance, a playful smirk on her face as she scanned for dangers or clues.
Looking up from her book, Jane noticed this change in Sofia and decided to break the silence: "You know, Sofia, I couldn’t help but notice that earlier, when you chose not to free your mother, you decided to continue the game despite having the chance to stop it with her intervention... and to make sure Carla would take the punishment too, no less"
Sofia kept walking without looking back, staying silent "Could it be that you’re actually enjoying this adventure?" Jane added.
"...Maybe" Sofia responded calmly. Expecting the usual curt response, both Jane and Emily were taken aback by the honest admission, and an awkward silence fell over the group.
"When we started, I just wanted to get this nonsense over with as quickly as possible" Sofia continued, almost as she was talking to herself "I was sure I could handle it just fine on my own. I thought you two nerds were completely useless, as scrawny as you are, but... I have to admit there were moments when I couldn’t have managed without you. It’s been fun working as a team" Jane and Emily silently absorbed the mix of insults and compliments, not daring to interrupt Sofia’s unexpected confession.
"So yeah... I guess I was wrong. This role-playing stuff is actually pretty cool" Sofia concluded. However, as if suddenly realizing she’d spoken out loud, she blushed furiously and raised a finger in the air: "But don’t think for a second this gives you the right to force me into one of your weird games again, Carla!" she shouted "Get ready, because once I’m out of here, you’re going to be my lucky insole for the next soccer match!"
Jane smiled at Sofia’s unexpected reaction. Before today, she hadn’t known Carla’s little sister very well, and her impression of her had been less than positive. Every encounter with the rude and unpleasant younger sibling had ended with Jane squished or flattened, caught in the crossfire of the sisters’ squishy shenanigans.
But now, with a clearer sense of Sofia’s personality, perhaps getting along with her wouldn’t be so hard... though Jane decided it was definitely still better to avoid the sisters' fights altogether.
Meanwhile, the adventurers arrived at a dead end, as the corridor ended abruptly in a wall. In the center of the wall was a circular opening large enough for a person to fit through, leading to a rocky slide descending into darkness.
Sofia stepped toward the opening but paused and turned to the others: "What do you think? This seems like the only way forward, we didn’t see any other paths" "It’s too obvious, feels like a trap" Jane remarked, while Emily mimed zipping her lips, signaling that she couldn’t provide them with the solution.
"Well, we can do this, then" Sofia said, removing the hammer from her back and forcing it through the wall opening, as it began sliding down the chute "I’ll go first, and if it’s not a trap, I’ll call you to follow me. See you later!" Without waiting for a response, Sofia slipped into the opening herself and followed the hammer, disappearing from view as she slid down.
For a while, the sound of the two bodies sliding echoed through the corridor until it abruptly stopped.
"Sofia? Are you okay?" Jane called into the opening, but there was no reply.
"I knew it was a trap! Emily, could you check if there are any hidden passages in this corridor?" Emily nodded, declaring her search. The Dungeon Master’s voice responded: "Next to the wall opening, on the right, you see a tile slightly raised compared to the others, looking like a switch"
When Emily pressed it, part of the wall separated and opened like a door, revealing a staircase descending in the same direction as the slide Sofia had taken "Let’s go. Sofia might be in danger" Jane urged, hurrying down the stairs with Emily close behind.
At the bottom, they found themselves in a corridor almost identical to the one above; beside the door they had exited was a circular hole about the size of a baseball. From this hole emerged a narrow slide running close to the wall, zigzagging along a winding path before disappearing into another hole in the wall at the far end.
Currently rolling down this slide were two balls, perfectly sized to follow its path: the first was primarily white, while the second was flesh-toned, bouncing slightly as it moved, which only served to speed up its descent.
"Sofia...?" Jane whispered in disbelief, staring at the flesh-colored ball as it tumbled along.
As soon as Jane and Emily realized the situation, they immediately dashed to catch the two spheres before they disappeared back into the wall, out of reach. Despite their efforts, Emily managed to grab only the flesh-colored sphere in time, while the white sphere rolled into the wall opening, disappearing out of reach.
"Good job, Emily" Jane said as she arrived at the wall a few seconds after the nimble rogue "If I’m not mistaken, this one should be Sofia, right?" she continued, taking the flesh-colored sphere from Emily’s hand and examining it.
The sphere, as it turned out, was made from Sofia's body, compressed into a compact shape that fit easily in the palm of a hand due to the narrowing width of the slide.
The top of Sofia’s head was visible on the sphere’s surface, while her bare feet stuck out from the opposite side. The rest of her body was haphazardly squished in between, with her large, bandaged chest taking up most of the surface, completely covering her face. Sofia jiggled slightly in Jane’s hand, letting out muffled grumbles, clearly unhappy with her current condition.
"The tables have turned, Sofia" Jane remarked playfully as she tested the malleability of Sofia's scantily clad body, squeezing it lightly in her grip.
The temptation to exact revenge for all the squishing Sofia had subjected her in the past years was strong: tossing Sofia on the ground like a bouncy ball, for instance, was a very appealing thought. After all, the girl was literally in her hands.
However, Sofia had put herself in this predicament to keep Jane and Emily safe from the trap, and given her recent change in attitude, Jane decided to let it go. With Emily’s help, Sofia’s body was soon restored to its original form.
"Thanks, girls" Sofia said, still a bit dazed "It really was another damn trap!"
"Let me remind you that this Dungeon is called the Labyrinth of Traps" Jane pointed out, but Sofia cut her off "Hey, do you know what happened to my hammer? I sent it down the slide before me, so it should have been compressed and balled up just like me"
"We saw it, and need I also remind you we’re talking about your mother here, not just your weapon" Jane replied, adjusting her glasses "Unfortunately, we weren’t fast enough to reach it, and it rolled into that opening in the wall" she said, pointing to the end of the slide’s path.
Sofia scowled and immediately moved to the hole, trying to reach inside with her hand and arm in a desperate attempt to retrieve her weapon, but to no avail; the slide extended far beyond her reach.
"S-sorry, Sofia. I didn’t make it in time to save her" Emily admitted, her tone defeated, but Sofia reassured her immediately "Nah, don’t worry about it. If anything, I should be thanking you for saving me again!" she said, giving Emily a hearty pat on the back.
The adventurers continued onward, but after only a few turns, they came upon a massive metal door, intricately carved and painted, depicting scenes of battle: its beauty and the detail of the engravings stood in stark contrast to the otherwise plain, uniform corridors of the Dungeon. "Wow, this door is amazing!" Jane exclaimed, marveling at the craftsmanship as she stepped closer to examine it.
Emily, meanwhile, wore a proud expression: "Carla and I spent hours working on it... But after making this, we decided the rest of the Dungeon would be much simpler, or it would’ve taken us way too long"
Sofia, however, was unimpressed: "I bet a door this big means there’s a big boss waiting behind it, right?" "E-exactly" Emily replied "I think I can tell you that this is the final room of the Dungeon, where the boss awaits!" she continued with enthusiasm "But even I don’t know what’s inside... Carla handled it while I was working on other things"
"Whatever Carla put in there, we just need to beat it to a pulp. Let’s go!" Sofia declared, punching her open palm before pushing the two halves of the door open.
The room inside was the largest they had encountered so far: a square chamber with high ceilings, illuminated by rows of torches lining the walls, just like the rest of the Dungeon. However, the vast space was dominated by a massive, four-legged red creature. "Sofia! Girls! Finally, you’re here!" the creature greeted them enthusiastically, towering over them even while crouched on all fours "Mia?? What the heck are you doing here? And what are you wearing?" Sofia blurted out in shock.
Mia was covered head to toe in a bright red bodysuit, with dragon-like gloves and boots complete with long claws. On her back were what appeared to be cardboard wings, and even her face had been painted the same shade of red as her outfit. Overall, she looked like she was wearing a haphazardly made Halloween dragon costume.
On top of that, Mia's body was enormous compared to the other girls: even crouched on all fours, she still stood more than twice their height, making her an imposing sight from their perspective.
"Carla asked me to play the dragon in this weird D&D session of hers" Mia explained, showing off her clawed gloves and cardboard wings "Oh, right..." Mia adopted a menacing expression and, in a deep, gravelly voice, proclaimed: "Welcome, adventurers! You may have bested my minions and my traps, but now you face me, the master of this Dungeon! And, uh... something about my treasures and a prisoner back there" she finished less dramatically, motioning toward the area behind her with her head.
There, a stereotypical hoard of treasure was piled high, with chests and heaps of gold coins glinting in the torchlight. Under a glass case, Layla was visible once again, squished into her warhammer form.
"So now we should fight Mia, who’s acting as a red dragon, and with this size difference? That’s impossible!" Jane complained, discouraged. Emily too, who had taken cover behind her, nodded in agreement.
Even Sofia wasn’t entirely confident in their chances, slowly retreating toward her companions and the exit. Mia, however, noticed the lack of her usual bravado: "Do you agree with them, Sofia? Are you giving up before even trying?" Mia taunted, creeping toward them on all fours with a menacing expression.
Though Sofia was intimidated by the overwhelming size difference, she couldn’t let her rival's challenge slide. Clenching her fists, she turned to her companions: "Come on, girls! We’ve made it this far against all odds, and now we just have to take down this sorry excuse of a dragon. If we work together like we’ve done so far, we can do this!"
****************************************************************
"I have to admit, for a final boss fight, that was incredibly anticlimactic" commented Mia, back to her normal size in Carla's room, as she removed the dragon costume pieces "After Sofia's rousing speech to the others, even I started thinking they might pull it off. But it only took a couple of slaps.. I mean, claw slams to squash them all flat"
"Well, it was just a playtest, after all" Carla replied, hunched over the intricate dungeon setup in the middle of her room, carefully retrieving the tiny flattened bodies of the defeated adventurers "The exploration and traps went pretty well, but the combat definitely still needs some balancing" she muttered to herself.
Once she had recovered the three girls, Carla stood up, placing their small, flat forms into a plastic sleeve (normally used to store collectible cards) to keep them from getting lost due to their diminutive size: Jane and Emily had been flattened face-first, their bodies frozen mid-run as they had tried unsuccessfully to evade the massive dragon’s paw.
Sofia, on the other hand, had been squashed from above, her body now a perfectly round coin-like shape; the top of her head was visible at the center, her face hidden, while her compressed body formed the rest of the circular surface. Predictably, her large boobs took up a significant portion of the flattened disk, leaving no doubt as to her identity despite the lack of facial recognition.
Carla set the plastic sleeve down on her desk, next to a small glass case that still contained Layla squished into a tiny warhammer, so small it could easily be mistaken for a miniature model. She then carefully removed Jane and Emily from the sleeve and arranged their flat bodies onto what appeared to be two custom trading cards.
"Wait, you’re not going to restore them right away? After everything they’ve been through, and how much they’ve helped you, don’t you think they’ve earned it?" Mia asked, leaning closer out of curiosity to watch Carla’s work.
"You’re right, but..." Carla admitted, while carefully adjusting the girls’ poses on the cards "I’ve always dreamed of making custom Magic cards with their likenesses. And now that they’re already in their adventurer outfits, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
Faint muffled protests came from Jane's tiny flattened form, but Carla proceeded unfaltering: "Just a few high-quality scans, and I’m done!" Carla promised, placing the cards into a scanner and firmly shutting the lid, ensuring the girls were pressed tightly against it.
"Whatever you say, Carla, but don’t push your luck with them" Mia warned her "Emily adores you and might tolerate your weirdness, but Jane... she’s definitely not a fan of these shenanigans. She'll be very angry at you when she'll be back to normal"
Carla’s expression darkened for a moment, but she didn’t respond. Meanwhile, she pulled Sofia’s flattened coin-shaped body from the plastic sleeve: with a flip of her fingers, she tossed the coin-like Sofia toward Mia, who caught her easily. "Here’s your reward, as promised: she’s yours until tomorrow. Thanks again for helping us out on such short notice!" Carla said in her usual carefree tone.
"Always a pleasure doing business with you" Mia replied, tossing Sofia’s coin-like body a couple of times before adressing her: "I’ve been meaning to get even for that night I spent squished into a ball, so don’t worry, Sofia. We’re going to have so much fun until tomorrow" With that, Mia slid the coin-sized Sofia into her wallet, making sure she was snugly tucked under a stack of real coins before snapping it shut and putting it away.
As she left Carla’s room, Mia glanced back at her, who was busy tidying up her intricate dungeon miniature. Given the number of people Carla had squished flat for the sake of this D&D adventure, even with the most optimistic assumptions, Mia doubted she’d see Carla in three dimensions again anytime soon.
