Victoria was the definition of a barefoot girl with a secret passion for magic. So she has certainly seen every single magic show that has ever been performed within a few kilometers around her hometown, however she easily look through their tricks and realised that it has never been real magic. Still she didn't stop and even visited some shows abroad. One day a circus came to town called "cirque macabre", which promised to be different to all the others. Their tent was black as the night, their wagons were painted with obscure symbols and even outside the shows all artists seem to wear strange mystic looking clothes. Of course Victoria was awaiting them eagerly and on the first day, when they put on the tent and built up everything else, Victoria took all her courage, put on a what she thought perfectly fitting black outfit and walked all the way straight to their place barefoot of course, as she ever was. The people didn't even notice her first, when she was strolling around the area. She just fit into the environment.
Finally she found what she was looking for. A trailer that must belong to the magician. Well, it was the word "magician" written on it. Nervously she swallowed and knocked on the door.
"One moment please!", a tender male voice told her from the other side. A man in his early thirties opened the door. He wore a topper a glittering dark purple suit and had a pointed beard. He indeed looked handsome Victoria had to admit and if he had asked her to walk over knives with his seducing voice, she wouldn't have resisted one second.
"Um, Mr. magician, I hope I don't disturb you from anything, but well, I'm a huge fan of magic and..."
"And you want to ask me, if I am a real magician?"
"Um, yes..."
"Then you want to ask me to prove it followed by an amateur looking trick of me, which makes you look skeptical. This would mean that I'd need to do one trick after another until you finally are satisfied, which might take a while, so instead it would be much quicker, if I already start with the real magic?"
Understandably Victoria was confused. His speach seemed to logical. "I guess?"
"Fine. Let me introduce me first, my name is Victor, and yours?", he asked and offered her his he hand.
She took it and said: "Victoria."
"Huh, what a coincidence."
Victor shook her hand, but instead of letting her go, he pulled and suddenly detached her whole right arm from her shoulder.
With wide eyes Victoria looked at her detached arm and touched her stump with her remaining hand. Still she felt his hand touching hers and so, as she tried to move her detached arm it worked.
"Convinced?"
Victoria wasn't able to think about complex sentences anymore and so a confused "Yes..." was everything she could say.
"I knew it. Now you want to me to continue, right? Lie down in the grass, I'll do the rest."
She nodded and lied down on her stomach beside the trailer. Victor pulled on the arm in his arm detaching the upperarm from the lower one and put it in front of Victoria. Since she was still able to move it, she soon put it up and put her head on her hand. Meanwhile Victor detached her left arm and also put it in front of her.
The magician then went behind her and said: "Now hold still. THis needs a bit more force."
Indeed he had to pull much harder, but still the whole legs went off rather easily. This time, he detached the bare feet from the legs and put them separately in front of Victoria.
At last he looked at the girl, who admired her detached foot and said: "By the way, I am in need of a new assistant, so if you are interested... Think about it and tell me, when I come back to put you together again."
Victoria was too much distracted by the fact that she finally found her real magic that she only nodded and later she didn't even hear, when Victor pulled out his telephone and said to someone on the other side:
"Good news, Hank. I found one"
