Okay, a little history with this one.<br />

When it comes to computers, I guess I would be classified as a late bloomer.  I was almost 40 years old before I even considered buying one.  (These days, I don't know how I got by without one, as I use it for everything from book shopping to music chart research.)<br />

Shortly, after that, I ran across the BEAddventure.  For those who don't know what an addventure is, it's an online continued story, written by people like you and me.  Someone writes an "episode" and lists a few ways the story could continue.  Someone else (usually) takes one of those suggestions, and writes their own episode, offering their own suggestions where to go next.  And so on and so on...<br />

I figured what the heck and gave it a shot.  And then, I did it again.  And again.  And again...  before I knew it, I was hooked.  I wrote a total of 75 episodes in the first month alone.   I was a regular writer there for a long time, eventually writing almost 500 chapters.<br />

Among those early episodes at BEA was a chain that I subtitled "Sharon's Touch".  In them, Jim (the main character) gives his girlfriend, a closet statuephile, the ability to turn herself and others into works of art.  It ran for a while, before doing what most chains do.  It died out.<br />
<br />
The idea, however, stuck with me.  And when an online friend suggested that I try my hand at writing complete stories, and not just short pieces that I have limited control over, I decided to adapt the concept into what I wanted to be a long running series.  I quickly tossed out three Shannon (name changed to separate it from the BEA version) stories.  And then, the ideas dried up.  So, the long-running part didn't develop.  At least not yet.  <br />

Anyway, if anyone's still reading this, here's the first of those stories.  I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did creating it.
