Luca Brasi sat at his desk and chuckled. "Hey, Paulie, I'm only clowning. Lighten up."

Behind him, in the giant aquarium, a mermaid swam and dragged the chain from her neck from left to right.

Paulie pouted, "You shouldn't joke about a man's mother boss. It's not right."

"What are you doing here? I thought I told you to go fuck your mother?"

"Boss, please, always with the movie quotes. Stop clowning. There's no need, you know you're funny."

"I’m funny how? Funny, like, I’m a clown? I amuse you?"

Paulie rolled his eyes but before he could respond the office door opened. Framed in the doorway was a clown. A proper clown. A grease paint face painted into a parody of woe. A straw hat with a large daisy sprouting from the top. A huge red nose and larger clown shoes. A waist almost too big to fit through the doorway and a fat yellow polka-dot tie.

"Luca Brasi?" Asked the clown flopping through the doorway with big clown feet.

"Yeah, who the fuck are you?" Asked the annoyed gangster.

"Oh, I can't remember," responded the clown. He started patting himself, "one moment I wrote it down somewhere." He continued to pat himself and investigate pockets. "It was something funny. What was it? It wasn't The Joker, don't like purple hair anyway. Certainly not Pennywise, I'm not evil. What was it..."
Unexpectedly he pulls out a silenced pistol and shoots Paulie straight between the eyes. In a flash, the gun was aimed at Luca.
"I've remembered now," said the clown, "I'm your doom!" The gun fired and Luca dropped dead upon his desk. The clown fired twice more at the corner of the tank behind the dead mobster. Before diving back through the doorway he had entered through.

The tank burst. A huge deluge of water swept into the office. Lifting everything, including the bodies, and slamming it all into the far wall. The water sloshed around and then flowed out through the open doorway.

Once the current was surmountable the clown, sans stupid shoes, wades back in and over to the coughing mermaid sat on the floor of the now empty tank.

Topless and with her legs trapped within a latex fishtail costume her hands were pulling futilely at a heavy iron collar locked around her throat.

"Sabine?" Inquired the clown. "Sabine are you okay?"

The mermaid looked up at the clown. Then is distracted by something behind him.

"Heh, look at that," she points at Luca's corpse, contorted and covered with writhing fish. "Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes."
