I'm not what some would call 'reliable' or 'consistent' when it comes to writing; be it with stories for here or work on my more serious writings, procrastination is practically a way of life for me. That said, I think I found a less than conventional way of reminding myself to get a little writing done each day.<br /><br />While picking up some stuff at Target this week, I saw this cowgirl alone on the clearance shelf. If you're unfamiliar with the character, it's 'Jessie' from the Toy Story movies, and to be completely honest she's probably what initially sparked my interest in doll characters (and inadvertently doll transformation stories) years and years ago.<br /><br />Granted, this caught me off guard like nothing else; hell I was picking out a new laundry hamper, only to turn around and see a childhood crush chilling on the shelf. Turns out, Pixar released a bunch of merchandise for the Toy Story franchise a few years back, a few of which were high quality, incredibly detailed versions of the toys from the movies. These things apparently sold for $100 when they first came out, but since then apparently no one had bought this Jessie doll, and she had been marked down all the way to $20 dollars on clearance.&nbsp;<br /><br />Safe to say, I couldn't just pass up on that chance encounter<br /><br />She came with her own stand and everything, so now I have Jessie as a new desk toy to remind me that I should probably be getting some writing done right now each time I glance over at her.&nbsp;<br /><br />And hey, if you guys want, I may even involve her in a new caption series in the next week or so.
