The bedroom was silent as the first beams of sunlight began to pour through the windows. The room hadn’t changed much, its dark wooden layout still furnishing the room as a girl slept in the bed against the wall. For a moment, Annie didn’t know where she was; she laid motionless on her back facing the beige ceiling above her, but soon enough a wave of memories of what had happened (coupled with a strong hangover) rushed back to her at once. The redhead went wide-eyed at the very thought of the night before, springing herself to a sitting position immediately. “I..I can move,” she mumbled to herself in a quiet awe as looked down at her own hands while her mind raced through the events of last night. She remembered it all, vividly. ‘I was waiting for Nate to come home, and then fell I asleep on the couch, and then,” Annie stiffened in realization. “Holly!” she said to herself as she shot her gaze to space on the bed next to here. Just as she thought, there she was: the doll/girl was curled up under the sheets next to her, facing the wall away from Annie. All she could really see was her curly blonde hair and her form under the sheets from where she sat, but as soon as Annie saw her, she stopped and starred. ‘Is..is she real? Or what was last night?’ she thought as she timidly lifted her arm from the bed to touch Holly’s shoulder. A familiar anxiety washed over her as her hand drew near to her shoulder, but finally she darted her hand forward, grabbing her shoulder and retracting the moment she touched it, knocking Holly on her back. As Holly fell back, her head drifted with her movement to where she was practically looking right into Holly’s eyes: she was the same old doll she had always been. As Annie looked down at the toy’s slight stitched smile, she let out a sigh of relief. “Ok, ok.” She mumbled to herself, “Everything seems normal…but then what the hell happened last night?” For a while, she just thought everything over, trying to collect her thoughts, but as the minutes passed and the pressure Holly’s silent on looking increases, Annie found herself slowly shifting out of the bed.
After throwing on some fresh clothes, Annie begrudgingly made the bed, dropping Holly carelessly to the floor as she reorganized the sheets. ‘It was just a dream. A very real, very weird dream,’ She thought to herself as she threw the pillows back into place, occasionally glancing down at the doll that was sprawled out over the floor where she dropped her. “It must have been..” Standing in the silence of the room for a second, Annie crouched down to pick up the toy off the ground, lifting Holly up by her arm pits for a moment. “You don’t happen to have any answers for last night, do you?” Annie said dryly to the doll. Holly just looked back, smiling crookedly as her head resting on her own right shoulder. After nothing but silence for a second, she lifted the plush up and positioned her on Nate’s bed like she normally would. “Yeah, I didn’t think so,” she said to herself, making one last glance at the doll as she made her way to the hall.
As Annie inched her way into the kitchen, her hangover was finally catching up in her. The kitchen was even brighter than the bedroom, forcing her to cover her eyes as she made her way into the room. She found herself stumbling into the room blindly, but all at once though, she felt a force wrapped around her waist and pick her up from behind. Shrieking slightly, she was quickly set back down on the ground and turned around in a panic. Immediately, the rush turned to relief; it was Nate, looking down at her with his typical smile. “Hey baby, why the yelp?” he said in a joking tone as he lowered his hands around her waist. Annie, still dazed and confused, just looked up at him as she recovered from the shock. “Sorry, just didn’t think it was you.” Nate chuckled as he let go and walked over to the table where he has already made breakfast. “Oh, really? Who did you think it was, Holly?” Annie grimaced a little at the thought. “Yeah, maybe..”
The two sat down at the table as if it was any other day, eating there breakfast as Nate tried to make small talk and apologizing for missing last night. Annie wasn’t paying attention; all she could think about was her ‘dream’ or whatever you could call it. She just knew it couldn’t have really happened, despite everything she felt. “Regardless, Annie, I want to make it up to you.” Annie looked back across the table as she tuned back into the conversation. “I can see you’re kind of disappointed over last night, so I’ll come home early and we can have an amazing night together, ok?” Annie found herself off-guard from the sudden offer. For a second she forgot all the weirdness of the night before. “Yeah, that sounds amazing Nate,” genuinely smiling while she spoke.
Finishing breakfast and actually getting a chance to spend some time together, Nate left for work again. Annie had the day off, the whole reason Nate wanted to do something fun the night before, but now she just stood there in the empty apartment with nothing to do and plenty to think about. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t push what happened the night before out of her mind. All of the reason and logic her brain could muster aside, what she felt happened was painfully clear in her mind, and she could remember it all; everything from Holly holding her up to the mirror to see herself to Holly kissing her. She shivered a bit at the memory. ‘I definitely remember that’ she thought to herself as she glanced down the hallway to Holly, who was still sitting on the bed where she left her. At that, Annie couldn’t take it anymore. She quickly made her way to the end of the hall to the bedroom and climbed on top of the bed. Inching towards Holly on her knees, she pulled the doll up towards her, looking the Holly straight in the eyes hoping for a response. “Please, I know last night was real, I can feel it, just explain to me what the hell happened.” Silence. “If you don’t answer me, I’ll..I’ll stop playing with you, I’ll put you in the closet and just leave you there.” Once again, no response, and a tired look in Annie’s eyes set in. “Come on, Talk! Move! If you don’t I’ll go sell you to some pervert, who probably has different ideas on how to play with a doll like you.” She was mad, but her threats were hollow, and it was apparent through the tone in her voice; she just wanted answers. Regardless, the Holly just looked back with the same sweet expression she always has had. A moment passed, and Annie just sighed, letting go of the doll and letting her fall back onto a pillow on the bed.
After a moment Annie collapsed onto the bed next to Holly. She was already exhausted with all the confusion, pulling the doll into a bear hug. “I just wish you would talk to me, Holly.” She mumbled to herself, moving the toy’s head to face her. She just laid there with her, for a few moments looking as limp and sprawled out as the rag toy next to her. After a while, she sighed again and brushed the fallen curly hair away from the toy’s face, and a thought came to her. ‘Hell, it’s worth a shot’ she thought to herself as she looked into the doll’s eyes. Quickly, she moved in and kissed Holly on the lips passionately, holding for a few seconds as she did. Honestly, it did feel really good, not what she felt last night, but feeling Holly like that was still something. Waiting for another second, she peaked one eye open to see if there was any response. Still, the doll just looked back, lips unmoving in reply, and so Annie broke the kiss and rolled on her back. “You’re a tough crowd to please, you know that Holly?” She mumbled to the quiet room, and soon enough she drifted off to sleep with the plush clutched under one arm.
By the time she woke up, it was almost dark out. Slowly Annie sat up in beg, Holly falling from her chest to her lap as she did. Annie once again looked down at her hands, glancing at Holly while she did. ‘Damn, it all happened like this last time, I was kinda hoping it would- no wait what am I saying, even if it did work I’d just be some ragdoll again,’ she thought to herself as she let her arms fall to her sides. ‘But hey, at least I’d know I’m not crazy.’ At that, Annie glanced at the clock and groaned slightly. ‘Ugh, Nate’s going to be home in an hour, I better go get everything ready out there,’ she thought as she let Holly fall onto the bed as she got up to leave.
The work was a nice change of pace for Annie. Setting the table, getting some drinks ready, anything to keep her mind off everything. Soon enough, the place was ready, and only a few minutes after finishing up Nate walked through the door. Before Annie could even respond, Nate dropped his things at the door and rushed up to her, pulling her into a strong hug. “Hey you,” Annie said playfully as he gave her a kiss on the forehead. “Why all the passion?” Nate ran his hands down her sides, “Because I have something for you,” he said with a smile, “Come on!” With that Nate began to pull her waist from behind, moving her down the hall.
Nate was quick about things as he whirled Annie into the bedroom, closing the door behind him and glancing for a second at Holly as he did. Annie giggled to herself at his zeal. “What, you want to do that now? We haven’t even had dinner!” She said to him as he pulled her into another large hug. Nate laughed too, but quickly responded. “No, no, it’s not that. Later, but not now.” He said smirking. Annie laughed again, “But really, what did you literally drag me in here for? I’ve had an anxious day so an answer would be nice, hun.” Nate hesitated, thinking, but quickly continued. “Ok, ok. Just take a step back against the bed and close your eyes.” Annie was skeptical, but she did as she was told and closed her eyes as she stepped back. She waited a moment as she heard Nate brush his hands through his pockets. “Annie, I brought you in here because I have something to tell you. I want to keep you.” He spoke clearly and with confidence as the words left his lips. Annie stood in confusion as her eyes opened; Nate was still just standing there, where he stood a second ago. “Nate,” she started, “what is that supposed to mean? You aren’t proposing, are you? We’ve been dating for a month, and-“ Nate cut her off. “No, no, Annie, I’m not saying that. I just mean what I said; I want to keep you, so I’m going to. At that, Nate lifted up a small bag of powder he was holding in his hand and blew it over her.
Confusion aside, Annie immediately found herself covered with a faint red powder that seemed to evaporate into the air around her by the second. Coughing slightly, Annie looked up from the powder to Nate with a look of slight shock and confusion. Nate just stood there, relaxed against the doorframe. “Just give it a second,” he said in the same confident voice. For another moment, Annie just stood there, “Wait for what exact-“ and then all at once it hit her. A wave of lightheadedness rushed through her body in a matter of seconds, bringing her to stumble back and sit on the end of the bed behind her. “Nate, what-“ she began to say before he sat down next to her and gave her a slow kiss. “One last flesh-and-blood kiss for the road,” he said with a smirk as he sat back to watch what was happening. Annie barely heard what he had said; she was caught up with the overwhelmingly warm feeling that had swept over her body. All at once changes began to shift through her body. Her light complexion skin started to become a light cloth, creeping up from her hands and feet, which already began to develop stitching. “What was in that powder?” Annie made out with an airy tone to her voice, finding it harder to breath as the changes made their way up to her chest. “You know, trust, pixie dust, body changing magic I got from my uncle J, all standard stuff,” he said in a joking tone to the changing girl. Annie tried to get up, but her arms would only compress under the weight of her body. The changes spread even further as time sped along: hair on her body began disappearing as the shift moved up past her waist, as she felt herself begin to feel hollow all down her legs, which dangled freely over the edge of the bed. In a new sensation, she felt these spaces fill up again, this time with light fluffy feeling. Nate reached over, feeling the cloth on Annie’s thigh, squeezing and feeling nothing but cotton within with a grin. But it didn’t stop there. As the change went from her arms to her chest, more seams appeared, but with them the details of Annie’s breasts were replaced with two featureless globes. As the cotton within reached them, they appeared even more full-formed than before beneath her sweater. Now covering her entire torso, Annie couldn’t move anything but her face, but even then the cloth began to creep up her neck. “Nate..what, why?” Annie managed to get out just as the change reached her lips, leaving them as textured ruby red cloth. “Because, Annie,” he said leaning in to kiss her now cloth lips, “everything ends, but this way I get to keep you as long as I want. I kept Holly, and see how happy you two are together?” At that, her lips smiled unwillingly as they were sealed with the cotton in her head as the cloth overtook her eyes. Her green eyes became like the detailed pattern of Holly’s eyes, layered cloth with depth, now locked on the ceiling above her. Finally it spread through her hair, changing her natural red hair into short bobbing strands of sharp red yarn.
She was done. Now laying on the bed next to Nate was a 5 foot, very realistic cloth doll. Nate lifted the dollifed girl up to a sitting position, running his hand over her body as he did. “You came out perfect, babe,” he said as he kissed the toy once again. Annie felt it all; through her clouded mind after everything that had happened, she could still feel every touch he made. Nate smiled, “You’ll do perfect, let me just get you ready.” With that Nate got up and dipped into his closet, letting Annie fall lifelessly to her side along the bed. When he emerged, he was holding something; a modest servant costume with a large red bow on the top. Even through her still foggy mind, Annie nearly jumped in shock at the sight of the costume. Quickly, Nate undressed the doll down to nothing, throwing Annie’s regular clothes haphazardly to the closet. Naked, it became even clearer that Annie was just a toy, just having seams and cloth in place of some of her definingly human features. After turning back to her, he stopped for a second, looking up and down the girl’s newly smooth form. “I’ll play with her later, not now,” he reassured himself and quickly he got back to work dressing Annie in the costume. It was a simple get up, with a simple white blouse under a very short dark green dress, finished with a stripped cotton knee socks for her legs and a short cotton apron clearly made for a doll thrown over it all. It was a struggle, maneuvering Annie’s unresponsive limbs into the clothes, but soon enough she was fully dressed in the costume. With it done, he sat Annie up once again, tying the large bow around body like a sash, leaving the loops of the bow hanging over her chest. Pulling some pillows from the end of the bed, she propped the doll up, her legs hanging over the end and her eyes looking straight away. Content, Nate rushed around to grab Holly, who had been laying in the same slumped way she had been left, and quickly changed her into a simple red dress, one of Annie’s actually, and finally propped her up next to Annie on the pillows. As one final touch, Nate took the two’s arms and placed them to be holding hands, even leaning their drooping heads to lean against one another. Finally, Nate stepped back, looking at the scene he created. “Absolutely perfect, she’s going to love you,” Nate said to the dolls as he stood there. “Honestly think you would have come out better as silicone, Annie, but that wouldn’t work for now. We can always change that up later.” He said with a wide grin on his face, but soon enough behind him the doorbell of the apartment rung repeatedly. “Perfect timing then,” he mumbled to himself grinning, and with that he dipped out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Finally with her mind returning to slowly normal after the wave of sensation she had just felt, Annie felt a familiar cocktail of anxiety and confusion run through her veins, or rather her stuffing. She sat there still with Holly in hand in a silent panic; “Why would Nate do this? How did he do this? Was he behind last night too then? But then what is Holly?” Her mind, even still pushing through her clouded thinking, ran at a mile a minute trying to think of everything that was happening to her, but she stopped for a moment as the bedroom door swung open once again, but this time it wasn’t just Nate; there was a girl with him.
The girl had her eyes closed, being slowly led into the room by Nate in front of her. She seemed around Annie’s age, with long black hair reaching down the back of her shapely frame. Immediately, Annie jumped internally. “Oh god, is Nate going to try to change her too?” she thought with a panic, but then Nate spoke up. “You can open your eyes now, hun.” With that, the girl opened her eyes, unveiling two bright green irises, but as soon as she did she broke out into a wide grin that rivaled even Nate’s various smiles, letting out a giddy and excited noise as she did. She jumped to hug Nate, who openly picked her up as they hugged. “Nate, she’s perfect! Where did you get her?” Nate smirked devilishly as he spoke back; “Made her myself in my free time, just for you baby. You know I’ve been busy lately, some of that was getting her ready for you! I wanted our 6 month anniversary to be perfect.” ‘Anniversary? Baby???’ Annie was fuming internally as she pieced together what she had just watched happened. She wanted to get up and sprint out of the room, (only after punching Nate in the mouth,) but no matter how hard she tried her body wouldn’t respond. “Aww, and she even has a little servant outfit!” the new girl continued as she ran up to Annie, looking her over while playing with her hair. She turned back looking up to Nate, speaking in a playful tone. “Is she Holly’s new servant? I didn’t realize she was royalty or something,” she said giggling, and Nate returned with the same tone as she pulled her into a hug. “Oh yeah, clearly! Just a servant girl and her princess,” he said smirking, “and as you can clearly see they’re secretly lovers too.” The girl responded by hugging Nate back strongly. “Yes! They’re perfect for each other, thank you so much baby.” She said in a cheerful tone. The two kissed, and internally Annie only continued to get increasingly mad.
Despite her giddiness, Nate soon enough managed to convince the girl that she could play with her new present after they “had something to eat and enjoyed their anniversary together,” so after practically dragging her away from the dolls, the two soon left the apartment to grab some food. After hearing the front door of the apartment click shut, Annie and Holly were left alone, leaning against each other on the bed. Annie felt like she was losing her mind: “Nate cheated on me? Or he just used me, and some how did this to me! All for the sake of a gift? How did-“ Annie’s enraged rant was stopped short as she felt Holly’s hand tighten around hers. Slowly, she felt her head droop to the side as Holly’s head moved from beside her, and after a second she was standing in from of her. She was still a doll, that much was clear, but all the same Holly stood straight up in front of Annie with a warm grin on her face. Lifting Annie’s head up right, Annie just sat in silence as the doll took both of Annie’s hands and spoke to her. Her voice came out in the same light tone she had spoken in the night before; “Hey, still angry about last night, babe? Sorry for not answering you sooner about everything, house rules, you know?” Annie still just sat in unresponsive silence, even internally to dumbfounded to respond to what she was seeing. Holly jokingly took her chin and nodded up and down for her. “Good! I’m glad you understand! I can’t be having my new servant and girlfriend being all angry at me,” she said looking over Annie’s new outfit, moving around some of the frills as she did. After a moment of silence, Holly just stood there as Annie just felt overwhelmed with the confusion and frustration of the night. She felt like she was about to lose it, granted for all the right reasons, but before she could Holly pulled quickly her into a strong hug. She felt her stuffing compress against Holly’s chest as she did, just as Holly began to speak up. “Listen, honey, I know this is all probably overwhelming. You’re new to this, I know, but it could be worse! At least you have an amazing girlfriend at your side.” Annie still shuttered a little at that. ‘Admits all this why does she still take the girlfriend thing so seriously?’ she thought to herself as Holly laid her body back on the bed where she sat before. Holly smiled gently as she spoke, “and for the record, you make a very cute doll and an even cuter servant girl.” And with that Holly leaned in, wrapping her hands around Annie’s waist and giving her a long kiss. It all came back to her, all the feeling from the night before and then some, breaking down all the anxiety and confusion in seconds, making Annie feel like she was melting where she sat. When she came back to, Holly was at her side again, leaning against the pillows on the bed. She leaned in to her ear and whispered to her, “You’ll be fine Annie, better than fine. And hey, maybe if you’re a good doll you’ll get more where that came from,” she said with a smile, and at that Holly fell back to where she was before, holding Annie’s hand loosely and leaning against her head as if nothing had ever happened. With that, Annie drifted off to sleep, or something close, and to anyone else, the two returned to just being two stuffed dolls, sitting on a bed admits the silence of an empty room.
