T's been always dear to me this steep hill
and this bush, that the entirety
of the last horizon covers to sight.
But when I sit and watch, boundless
spaces over it, and superhuman
silences, and abysmal quiet
in my mind I wonder; where
my heart almost gets frightened.
And as soon as I hear the wind rustle between these plants
that infinite silence to this voice I compare .
And eternity comes to my mind;
and the dead seasons, and the present and alive one
and her sound.
So in this immensity my thought drowns
and foundering is pleasant in this sea.
