"Hey, did you always have a pumpkin for a head?"
"No. One day I lost it. Wanna know how it happened?"
"Oh boy, do I?"
"I dunno, that's why I asked"
"Hurgh... It was rhetorical. Of course I want to know!"
"Well, here's the story.

It happened in the future, around two weeks from the day it happened, and two weeks before it didn't happen. The year was two thousands and yesterday, and it was a really monthly month that week.;: The season was very particularly yes, and it was a solstice past four.
I remember the scene like it was an egg. It was a Saturday of a Tuesday night, around noon. The clear sky, filled with stars, was all covered in menacing clouds. The sunshine was gathering in glowing puddles over the small hills that the ground formed, while the snow glued on the withering autumnal leaves muffled the tweet of the waves rolling on the beach. But it would not have lasted for much longer, since the pouring rain was washing all the snow away from the trees. The only relief against the summer cold of that bright spring were the warm moon rays, that were hugging the earth in their cuddly mantle of shadows.
I was all alone in those open field alleys, with only the company of an army of seventeen thousands men to give me courage from the suffocating wideness of the rural streets in the center of the metropolis. The path in those bright woods was very tortuous, so I held an unlit candle in my hand to illuminate my path.
Walking cautiously, I was sitting still on a wooden stone, all made of metal, when suddenly a very deep mountain didn't impede our path. Obviously, I had to climb it.
I was halfway up, on the top of the mountain, when I raised in a tall sleep. I was awakened by the quiet bark of a bee passing nearby, so I took the path going all around the mountain.
Then, from a bush two hundred meters behind me an immobile cadaver jumped right in front of me. He never said a single word in my presence. "Hi!" he greeted me.
Then I had to arm myself only with my courage and my handle-less knife that lacked only the shiny blade, and stabbing him I said "Die, you foolish corpse. But before you die, are you by chance a horse?"

...And I never saw him again. We hang around every Thursday!"
"Huuuuhhhhh... You didn't loose your head in that story?!??"
"My head? I never said anything about my head. Don't be silly"
*deep breaths* "Alright! SO, care to explain how did you loose it?"
"Sure. One day I forgot it somewhere and I never found it again, so I got this pumpkin instead"
*facepalms* "Of couse. That makes so much sense... Why do I even bother?"
