Chapter 10
[Nathan]
"Oh, I'm sorry Katie," I said, looking to her, with Courtney still sort of sitting in my lap. "Didn't mean to make it seem like you weren't even here."
"It's alright, you two are just getting to know each other anyway," Katie said.
"You want to talk with him for a while?" Courtney asked.
"No, I know the type," Katie said.
"Type? What?" I asked, confused.
"I overheard you saying that you're originally a guy, I shouldn't have to say anymore from there," Katie said.
"So you have something against guys?" I asked.
"You could say that," Katie said, taking a sip of coffee she happened to have.
I noticed Courtney snuggling against my chest, and I blushed briefly forgetting what I was speaking to Katie about, then stopped blushing.
"Why do you seem to despise men?" I asked her.
Then Katie seemed to glare in my direction as I asked her that question, apparently overstepping my bounds, and becoming a little nosey.
"Sorry, nevermind then..." I said, turning away.
I figured that once Katie realized I'm really a guy she wanted nothing to do with me, no doubt even hating me for not having told her sooner.
"Well," I started. "Shall we be off then? You did ask to stay on my ship correct?"
"Yes that was the idea, unless you can't have us on your ship? We'll work for the food and beds, and what other stuff needed," Courtney said.
"Oh, there's no need for you to work on my ship really, I do all the work on it, and I still barely have anything to do around the ship," I said, feeling embarassed about that fact.
"Oh really? How big is your ship?" Katie asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Um...let's see...the diameter of the ship is about 3,800 km, larger than that of Earth's moon...I could always give you all the exact measurments if you'd like, I did afterall make the ship myself," I said, pulling out a palm pilot-like device out of my pants pocket and looking at hit, getting to the section of the ship Infinite's measurments.
Katie spit out the bit of coffee she had been sipping and looked at me, eyes wide.
"Are you serious? You made that ship, a ship that huge? Must of taken you forever? And did you say you did all the work yourself too?" Katie said, with a baffled look on her face.
"Yes I am serious, and yes I made the ship all by myself, only took less than a day to do so, I was in a rush. If I had been given more time then I could have made the ship bigger, more space for the people of that planet. I did the best I could in such short notice, I wanted to help the people of that dying planet to find a new home, and I did, took longer to find the new home than making the ship though." I said.
I noticed both Katie and Courtney staring at me with eyes wide, and faces almost pale, as if they saw a ghost.
"What? I say something wrong?" I asked.
"Just surprised honestly...at how you could even do that, you definitely are much different than any Infinitian I've ever seen," Courtney said.
I scratched my head, nervously, feeling kind of like some strange creature that doesn't belong anywhere, which in a sense I was, but I felt even more so than normal.
I moved Courtney off my lap, slowly and gently so as not to just push her off quickly and possibly hurt her physically or emotionally.
"Well, let's be off to my ship then," I said. "I shall assist you in packing up."
"Thanks, that would be nice," Courtney said.
"Although this tent is compact, so no need to really," Katie said.
"Really? You got a lot of fairly advanced stuff here then," I said.
"Doubt it's as good as anything on your ship really," Katie said.
"Well, actually it is...have nothing like it on my ship," I said.
Katie raised an eyebrow at me, either in doubt of what I had just said, or just all around curious about me; I couldn't tell which.
"So? Shall we then?" I asked again.
I followed Katie and Courtney out of the tent after Katie placed the empty cup of coffee on the panel I had put the dishes on earlier, causing it to disappear itself. Outside Katie pressed her hand against one side of the tent, and the tent began to cave in, and fold itself, shrinking even. I was slightly amazed, and yet not surprised as I watched the tent slowly become a small little cube.
I watched as Katie then proceeded to pick up the cube, and held it clutched into her fist, looking to me as if signalling they were ready to go now. I then began to lead them to the shuttle pod that I landed not to far from the crash site.
I stopped in the middle of the open field where I landed the shuttle, raised my right wrist and pressed a button on my Infinicomm, causing the shuttle pod to appear as if from nowhere, only it had been hidden under a cloak of sorts. It had been something I made for the ship, to activate automatically whenever I left the ship alone for a period of time, sort of like a car alarm.
"Wow...I didn't think such technology existed," Courtney said.
"Hehe, yeah, I created it actually a few centuries ago," I said.
"Wait, a few centuries ago? How old ARE you?" Katie asked.
"Um...how about we just get to my ship for now, I'll answer your questions later," I said.
"Alright...I suppose," Katie said.
I lead them into the shuttle, and motioned them to the seats towards the back.
"I'll be right back, I need to do something in order to get that ship of yours, onto mine," I said, as they both began to buckle themselves in.
I went into the small storage in the back of the shuttle, and grabbed a couple of beacons used to transport something as large as a ship like at the crash site.
I rushed out of shuttle and towards the crash site, immediately starting to set up the beacons around the entire ship. After I finished setting up the beacons, setting the coordinates on each one to match that of the eastern docking bay of the Infinite, I pressed a couple buttons simultaneously on the Infinicomm, teleporting the ship into the eastern docking bay.
I hurried back to the shuttle, after collecting the beacons, placing the beacons back into the storage on the shuttle, and sitting in the pilot's seat on the shuttle, closing the shuttle pod door via the front control panel. I started up the shuttle pod, and began to ascend off the planet's surface, flying the shuttle towards the coordinates of the Infinite's northern docking bay.
I flew the shuttle pod into the northern docking back as the docking bay doors opened up, and docked, opening the shuttle pod door.
"I'll lead you both to a couple of available quarters if you'd like," I said.
"Thanks, that would be great," Courtney said.
I lead them both out of the northern docking bay, and onto the Transport Train, riding it to the Residential Area, and leading them off the Transport Train, in the direction of the sleeping quarters.
"Now, there's several rooms, some are even occupied by residents that aren't here right now, a sort of crew I suppose you could say. They're not here right now though, but I happen to know where the unoccupied quarters are located. There are about a million quarters in all, so there's definitely plenty of empty quarters," I said.
"Wow, that's an awful lot...so there's no one else on this ship? Sure sounds lonely," Courtney said.
"Well, there are a couple aliens staying on this ship, a Kanomi and a Sonary," I said, turning towards Katie and Courtney.
"Oh, so then it's a total of five here then," Katie said.
"Yes, but they'll be leaving eventually, they stopped here for supplies, of which I've given them, so they shouldn't be here for much longer," I said.
"Oh, well I'd like to meet them before they do leave though," Courtney said.
"Alright, I'll have that arranged, you can ask Infinite the ship computer if all else, he should be able to set something up, a meeting perhaps. Anyway, let me show you two, to a couple avaible sleeping quarters," I said.
I lead them down the corridor and stopped in between a couple unoccupied sleeping quarters, motioning to one and then the next.
"Here you go you two, now if you'll excuse me...I have other things I need to do," I said, bowing in a manner before I left them.
I walked all the way back to the Transport Train, and rode it to the Recreational Area. I walked into one of the Holo Rooms, and started up a sparring sequence. I wanted to relieve some pent up energy I had inside, unsure what was going on with my body.
A practice dummy appeared in the center of the room, for the beginning of the program. I kicked the side of the dummy, then chopped at the side of it's neck with a karate chop hand movement. I varied with different martial arts techniques I taught myself using such holo programs, kicking, punching, chopping and so on at the dummy until it disappeared, initiating the second part of the program.
A couple of holographic people emerged into the room from the floor, facing my direction. They proceeded to move in my direction, and immediately went into a fighting stance. I just stood there, gazing at one, and then to the other. They then began to start to attack me, kicking and punching at the air around me. I dodged their attacks with ease, knowing all to well how they would attack, as it was the same every time before.
I knocked out one of them with a punch to the gut, letting him fall to the floor, then turned to the other one. As always he didn't seem to notice his fallen comrade, afterall he was only a computer program made to relieve stress, or used for fighting practice, but for me, it was the first of the two choices.
Before the guy could blink I was behind him, using my super human speed, and chopped the back of his neck, incapacitating him, and kicking him to the floor.
I looked to the two on the floor, as they began to crawl, and stumble to their feet before they disappeared, and the program ended.
I plopped onto the floor, crossing my legs, and sighing, still feeling the stress built up inside me.
"Man...what is going on with me?" I asked aloud, well aware no one was around.
I figured it would be best to check with Seeker, only he wasn't on the ship, he would know what was wrong with me, considering his race, if he would even speak to me that is.
I'd been sort of avoiding him, ever since I learned of my history and part of his. He's a Delveloid, one of the very race, that enslaved the race of which enslaved my creators, the Elliminites. The Elliminites were trying to fight back the force that had enslaved them, getting into something they should of never touched, or even gone near; that was creating god-like beings, such as myself. In the end, the very force the Elliminites seeked to create in fighting back, was the cause of their entire race, becoming extinct, something like the "big bang" theory, only that it involved the destruction of that universe, before the birth of a new one.
So the whole thing with him, being one of the race that started this whole thing, being one of the very beings who might very well be able to kill me, if ever he decided to do so, just like my twin brother.
I decided that whenever Seeker and the others got back from their vacation, that I would ask him about any information on my condition.
"Nathan, the two male aliens, and two female aliens you brought aboard had their little meeting and for some reason wanted me to let you know," Infinite said, through the intercomm.
"Alright...well thanks for letting me know then," I said, raising an eyebrow at the very weird message I'd been given. "Let them know I'll be there after I've gone to see the doctor in medical bay, maybe the doctor can help me."
"Sure, I shall give them that message," Infinite said.
I then proceeded to leave the Holo Room, and then teleported myself to the medical bay on the ship.
I decided to look through the medical logs on the console inside the medical bay, looking through symptoms until I came upon something, common among female mammals.
"What is this? No...way," I said, baffled and the condition that was flashing on the screen.
On the screen read a condition of which a female mammal was in heat. By some of the symptoms, it was saying that I was in heat.
