This is my submission to

It is under the category of writing without mental changes and the word count is 3356 words.
This story flowed rather organically for me and I didn't know where I was going with it, many things were written on the spot, including Shadow's name. I figured Katie could've been short for Kathryn and Kitty is another shortened name, I figured a nerd would connect that to Shadowcat (as that's what I did), a character Katie might not know. And then I just thought hey Zack is a copy of Katie, one she considers dark and Shadow could work for that.
You may have also known I refused to call Zack, Zack sometimes, this was the mental place of Katie, she refused to see her copy as Zack so she was addressed as the woman until Katie figured out a name to call her.
The fight was another thing that I wrote without much thought but to write myself out of it I needed Gillian. What Gillian said to them after the fight were things I considered when twinning is involved.
I had already had Zack say that he was sorry before and so after the fight wrapped up I wanted him to explain his actions. Katie hugging him/her was another organic moment and I actually got teary writing it. I had her consider him Zack for the moment of forgiveness too and felt it a powerful moment.
Reaching this point I didn't know how to continue it was a lovely heartwarming moment in my eyes and in the eyes of my test reader
so I wanted to end it there but I couldn't justify how Katie went from angry to forgiving Zack so quickly and so I wrote the final paragraph to wrap things up.
