“This body is so hairy…” Melanie complained as she looked at her arms, hands and chest. “And it really needs a bath,” she wasn’t sure if it was being a frog or if this body always smelled like this. From the brief reflection she saw in the pond, she had rough stubble, crooked teeth and a bent nose as well as a few scars.

If she had seen ‘Frederick’ not in his frog form, she wouldn’t have fallen for the con. She doubted he was even a prince, he looked like some ruffian. “Curse you Michael Buble,” Melanie groaned. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean that.”

She had to get on the move quickly, before the real her respawned and hunted her down. Her goal was to reach the Fairy Woods and find a way to fix all of this. She stood up, feeling the loose appendage swinging through the wind. She winced at the feeling and didn’t dare look down. “First I’ve got to get me some clothes.”

The town after the starting village wasn’t that far from here, though it was in the opposite direction of the Fairy Woods. Still she needed clothing and hopefully armour to go along with it. She didn’t move as fast as her previous body and despite having more muscles she didn’t feel as strong either.

On the outset of town she found some laundry hanging up on a drying rack. She quickly grabbed some underwear, pants and a shirt. Surprisingly everything fit perfectly well. Now the next issue was boots.

“Stop thief!” A woman, Melanie recalled turning into a toad, cried. She raised her fists and punched Melanie.

“Stop right there,” three guards were now surrounding her. All fully armoured and with their swords out. She didn’t even have time before being struck down. She found herself back at the pond without any clothes again. She sighed, got up and tried again.

It took her several attempts but she finally managed to get the clothes without alerting anyone, grabbing a horse and fleeing into Fairy Woods. Unfortunately she forgot that the Fae didn’t treat with anyone but Forest Elves so she found herself turned into a worm a soon as she crossed the forest boundary.

Melanie wasn’t sure if this was better or worse than the previous appearance, though she did just lose her clothes when she was transformed. There was also a small bird looking down at her rather hungry looking.

The bird swooped down, grabbing Melanie in its beak. Though it didn’t bite down, instead it flew to the fairy palace and dropped the wiggling worm down in the courtyard.

“It’s about time you got back here,” the queen taunted as she changed Melanie back into that body’s default form. The queen couldn’t help but snicker at Melanie seeing what her new body looked like. “I think you were better off doing this as a frog,” the queen smiled. “Now that you’ve got your two legs back, you’re onto the next part of the quest. You must bring your former self to me and I’ll be able to swap you two back.”

“Thank you…” Melanie paused as she stood up, she covered her exposed genitals by hovering her hands over them but not touching.

“Though there’s a slight problem, your body is now where near strong enough to take on a brave adventurer, she’ll cut you down before you dealt any damage.” The queen looked lost in thought. “Take these blads, they will help you with your task, aim for the head and bring it back here.” She then turned to Melanie. “Now begone!”

Melanie was back in the at the pond, naked once more but now with two daggers by her side. She could’ve waited for her former body here but she wasn’t going to do this naked. So she went and stole the clothes and horse in town again, then made for a unique looking tree and set herself up there.

It was amost nightfal when Melanie came to the camp, still running in the nude. “I should’ve figured you were the clothing thief,” her body spat as she drew her sword. “I don’t know how you managed to come back from being a frog, but this ends now. You’re worth 20xp and 1 silver afterall.”

Her former body moved quickly, without the weight of armour. Melanie barely managed to parry in time, but as soon as she did her dagger went through the sword and cut it in two.

“How?” the body thief cried as she discarded the weapon and kicked out instead. The kick, made Melanie blush as she went flying back a good three feet. She felt weak and knew one more blow and she was done for. So she charged with the daggers.

The thief held up her arms to block causing both to fall off, leaving smooth skin in their wake. That’s when Melanie finished the combo by striking at her head, separating it from her body. Though the danger hadn’t passed as the body kicked out wildly.

“Where did you get those blades,” he head cried now resting in the grass. “An NPC at your level shouldn’t have access to those.”

“Be quiet,” Melanie picked up the talking head by the hair and dumped it in a sack. It was too dangerous to get her body so she left it there and rode to the Fairy Woods.

This time she was turned into a tree when she crossed the boundary. Her prize now hanging from one of the branches. They were left there until morning when the Fairy queen finally sent for them.

Melanie was still a tree when she was summoned to court and was only swapped back when the Queen reclaimed the daggers.

“It would’ve been better if you brought your body back as well,” the Fairy queen smiled as she removed Melanie’s head. She then put both heads side by side and touched them. Melanie suddenly felt herself back in the proper body, well head anyway. “I’m keeping this one so I can find out how it knew so much of our and your world,” she commented as it disappeared.

“What about me?” Melanie asked, still only a detached head.

“You can either have the body before you,” the Queen winked at her. “Or I reset you as you are and it can be a surprised.”

“I’m not having that body again,” Melanie said a little too quickly without thinking of the consequences.

Now she found herself back where she always began, only this time her body was holding her head.

“An Elven Dullahan Warrior?” Joren said surprised. “Well now I’ve seen everything.”
