(Woman to Elf, Sheep, Frog, Pig)
“So I’m a witch,” Becky said as she drank her cocktail. “I can transform anyone, into anything, and I was hoping to try it out on you.”
“Okay,” Melanie answered sheepishly, a little buzzed from her own drinks. “But what are you going to turn me into?”
Becky paused for a moment, there were so many different options to choose from and so many ways to do a transformation. “Why don’t we ask the internet,” Becky said with a wicked smile as she pulled out her phone. “I’ll let you choose the one you like the sounds of the most.” Melanie nodded wondering what the good people of the internet would choose for her.
“So many of these people want to see me naked,” Melanie remarked as she scrolled through the responses.
“What about this one? An Elf warrior in a fantasy world?” Becky didn’t inform her of all the details.
“That is actually kind of cool, so long as it’s temporary,” Melanie responded. Becky nodded and with a snap of her fingers her friend was now in her computer, completely transformed into an elf maiden, unaware that she was actually in a magical video game.
Melanie was now a dark haired elf, wearing a green tunic with a floral pattern and an all too revealing boob window. Though she now felt like she was in the best shape of her life, she could even double jump, even though that was physically impossible.
“Welcome recruit,” an elf with pale hair and a wrinkled face greeted her. “To move forward….. Rotate…. Press the…..” He was speaking in fractured sentences that made no sense. What Melanie didn’t know is Becky was skipping the dialogue of the NPC. “Good, now that you’re familiar with movement, why don’t you pull out your sword and destroy three training dummies?”
“What Sword?” Melanie looked around confused. She walked over to a weapon rack full of them just to make sure she didn’t miss anything. When she walked over to it though, all she could see was a single sword, and a tiny dagger. She reached for the sword and now it was in her hand. She effortlessly destroyed each target dummy, she could get used to this strength.
“Good, now that you’re familiar with combat, Gwaine would like to teach you about magic. He’s just up the hill inside the small hut.” The old elf sent Melanie on her way.
So far Melanie was enjoying herself, she was able to sprint halfway up the hill before pausing to take a quick three second breath before she was able to run at full speed again. She made it up to the hut in no time.
“Can I help you?” an elf in a typical wizard’s outfit asked.
Four things popped into her mind as the wizard asked that question. ‘I was sent here by Joren’, ‘My name is Melanie, I’m a warrior’, ‘I’ve come to learn about magic’, ‘Goodbye’. She wasn’t sure why she thought about saying one of those four things but decided it’d be best to introduce herself.
“I am a mighty warrior, I have no need for your magic tricks,” Melanie said very rudely. That’s not what she meant to say, especially not like that.
“Oh,” the old wizard’s face soured. “Then why don’t you defend against this,” the wizard waved glowing blue hands towards Melanie.
“Baah…” Melanie cried as she stumbled around confused as she had just been turned into a sheep. “Baah… baah…” she practically begged the wizard to turn her back. The wizard just stood there motionlessly before Melanie returned to her elf form.
“As you can see, magic is a dangerous thing,” The wizard chastised Melanie. “And protection against magic is more important than ever, now the evil sorceress Rebecca rules these lands.” The wizard turned to his work bench. “Now you won’t be able to cast any spells yourself or resist many dangerous effects but I can still teach you some survival strategies.” He handed her a potion. “Drink this,” he instructed.
‘What’s in it?’, ‘Down the hatch’, ‘Maybe later.’ were the words that popped up in her mind. Of course she wasn’t foolish enough to drink a strange potion, from someone who just turned her into a sheep, without knowing what was in it first.
“Are you trying to poison me!” Melanie accused the wizard, causing him to get even more grumpy at her. A second later she was turned into a sheep once more.
“I’m trying to teach you something that could very well save your life,” the Wizard snapped. “But I guess your tiny little brain can’t comprehend that fact.” He was way less friendly than he was before.
Melanie found herself drinking the potion and found herself back on all fours, though this time she was a lot smaller. “Ribbit!”
“What you just drank is a vial of cursed frog,” the Wizard was calmer again. “Unlike my spell this transformation is permanent, unless you find a fountain of curse removal. Luckily there’s one located behind my hut.” The wizard opened the door for Melanie. “Curses are quite common in these lands and fountains are just as common, it’ll help to know where the closest one is and how to fight while you’re currently cursed. Eat three flies and fight a rat on your way to the fountain, to learn about a frog curse.”
There was no way Melanie was going to eat flies but she quickly made her way to the back of the hut. As soon as she approached the fountain she tried to jump in but was stopped by a magical field. “Eat 3 flies and fight a rat before you undo the curse” the wizard’s voice said from nowhere.
Melanie soon felt a sharp pain from behind as a common rat attacked her. ‘Ouch’ she thought, though she didn’t seem to be bleeding, and didn’t have any bite marks. The rat lunged for her again and she took some more damage. “Eat a fly to recover your health while transformed into a frog.” Melanie saw one flying overhead but she couldn’t bring herself to do it. The rat lunged for a third time, causing her to flip over on her back and everything went black.
“Welcome recruit,” the same elf from before greeted her. This time he just made a bunch of sounds as Melanie grabbed the sword, destroyed the target dummies and ran back up the hill. Again the wizard made a few weird sounds and she quickly drank the potion. Now she ran back behind the house and hit the rat with her tongue, the rat lunged at her and she hopped to the side, she struck it with her tongue again causing it to be dazed. She then looked up at the flies…
‘No, no, no,’ she begged her body, which seemed to be acting on its own the moment she woke up as an elf again. But her tongue reached up and grabbed it, she heard a crunch as she ate it. She focused on the rat again and jumped forward, the rat flipped upside down and disappeared. As soon as it did, the frog’s muscles seemed to grow stronger. She then ate two more flies before jumping into the fountain, turning back into an elf.
“Congratulations,” the wizard was a lot nicer to her now. “As you can see while cursed you can still gain experience, though any strength will be lost once you cure yourself. Combat is also more dangerous in such a tiny form, it’s best to avoid it. Here take this for your effort.” The wizard handed Melanie a new pair of boots and some gold coins. Both seemed to disappear in her hands. “Now that you know about curses and fountains, report back to Joren. I have also run out of ingredients for my frog curse potions, I need five magic truffles, will you help me? I will reward you for your work.”
‘No thank you,’ ‘How do I find these truffles?’ ‘Goodbye’ popped into Melanie’s head.
“How do I find them?” she asked the wizard and as soon as she did she was turned into a pig.
“A pig’s nose should be able to help look for them, be mindful of wolves though,” the wizard said. Melanie quickly went back to use the fountain but it didn’t work. “That only works on curses, this is a quest transformation, it can only be undone once the associated quest is finished.”
Melanie cursed with snorts and oinks as she followed her nose. She managed to find two truffles before being taken down by wolves. Only to find herself back in front of the wizard still transformed. This time she managed to get three truffles before being taken down again. “Bring me back five truffles and I’ll change you back,” the Wizard promised when she tried to talk to him. Unfortunately any death reset the progress.
“That should keep her busy for a little while,” Becky mused as Melanie struggled to complete the tutorial section. “If she’s struggling this much, she’ll never beat my game. Maybe I should share the game on the internet so others can help her finish.”
