As soon as Madison entered the building to get her name tag off the desk she knew she wasn’t going to get to experience this night. She had spotted her future husband down the hallway talking to a couple of guys. She looked around wondering which milestone she’d experience next and which one of the guys in this building she was going to swap with. She put the name tag on her blue dress and looked down at her cleavage, she wished she had worn something less revealing. As soon as she stepped into the main hall she blinked and found herself naked in the shower.
Kyle blinked due to the sudden change in his surroundings, one moment he had been getting ready for a morning class now he was in a room filled with tables set up for two. He felt rather strange too and looking down he could see why. He was in a completely different body, given the breasts now attached to his chest and the blue cocktail dress that went down to his knees. His long hair was tied back into a ponytail that was resting over his shoulder. He had long fingernails painted the same shade of blue as his dress. He reached up and patted himself down, not believing this was real.
“You look great,” a woman assured him. “Madison…” she read the name tag as she looked at her clipboard. “Okay your table is in the back corner, you have fifteen minutes with each date. Good luck…” the woman gestured over to the corner of the room before moving on to the next woman.
Over against the wall Kyle could see a bunch of men lined up waiting for everyone to take their seats. One man in particular seemed to be eyeing him off. Making him feel more uncomfortable than he was. Not knowing what to do Kyle awkwardly made his way over to the corner table, happy to have a bit more privacy.
After Kyle took a seat he gave a quick glance over at the room, and turned away from the room as his hands reached for his chest. He poked and prodded at first then felt them up from below, he was about to pull the dress forward when he heard a male voice clear their throat.
“Please don’t…” the guy made Kyle almost jump out of his skin. “Not in public” Kyle’s face went red as he looked at the man in the polo shirt, and the name tag that said Ben.
“Um…” Kyle froze hearing his new voice and watched as the man took a seat. He had no idea what to do or say.
“We’ve only got fifteen minutes together and you’re extremely confused right now, which I get. I’ve done this countless times, so I’m going to explain as quickly as I can…” the man lent forward and looked directly in Kyle’s eyes, causing him to get even more nervous. “If I’m recalling this correctly… you are Kyle Webber, you’re a college student and you’re studying to be an Engineer.”
“What… how did you…” Kyle looked at this man wondering if he had anything to do with this.
“I know this because I was you when we swapped bodies ten years ago. You’re currently living a crucial part of my life, the day I met my husband…” the man known as Ben scanned the room. “That’s him over there talking to the blonde in the red dress.” He explained. “I don’t care how you do it, but I need you to impress him tonight, enough to get his number. That version of me already knows who he is, she’ll handle the rest in the morning.” Ben turned back to Kyle. Who remained speechless. “I know this is a lot to take in and I’m happy to answer any of your questions while we’re on our little date. It’s not often I get to talk to people I’ve swapped with.”
“So you’re Madison?” Kyle eyed up the man. The story was too absurd but they knew more details. But this could all be a prank of some sort.
“I thought that would’ve been obvious,” Madison answered with a cheeky smile that just made Kyle uncomfortable.
“What’s going on? Why am I you and why are you this guy and not me?” Kyle asked in rapid succession, missing a few details in the original explanation.
Madison sighed once again as she began to explain her story. “Yes I’m Madison but I’m not that Madison, I was in her position ten years ago that’s when I swapped with you. You’re also now two years in the future, this is twenty twenty-six, you can look at your phone if you don’t believe me.” Madison waited as Kyle pulled out the phone from her handbag, his eyes went wide as the model confirmed that it was 2026.
“What?” Kyle looked stunned looking at the phone.
“Two years is nothing, the twenty twenty-four version of me is currently in twenty eighty-three. She’s in the body of a hospice nurse watching me on my deathbed. That was my first swap by the way, freaked the shit out of me and it’s not like I can get therapy for it either.” Madison continued to explain as she looked at the timer on the wall, she still had ten minutes with herself.
“So this you is me and the version of you is way in the future, what about that you?” Kyle’s head began to spin from the information. “Where’s Ben?”
“Oh he’s giving birth to my second child. I recall being the husband in the room next door, he took it like a champ, unlike the guy who gave birth to my first child.” Madison laughed off the shocked expression on Kyle’s face.
“I guess I have it easy, I just need to introduce you to your husband…” Kyle swallowed hard as he patted down her flat stomach. “But why is this happening?”
“Short version is I was a bitch in High school and I bullied the wrong girl, now I’m cursed to have someone experience every important moment of my life while I swap into someone else that’s close enough to witness a different event in my life. I was a waiter at my own wedding… I’m just glad I lost my virginity before the curse…”
“Sex too?” Kyle was taken aback he would think of doing something like that.
“Yep, I haven’t had a chance to experience that in my own body since I was Eighteen…” Madison confirmed with a sigh before looking at Kyle with a jealous gaze. “You’ll be me until the morning and I did swap with you while you were in the shower… So if you need to hear it, do whatever it is you want, most other guys do…”
Kyle blushed as he looked down at his chest once more and looked back up at Madison. “What did you do to that girl?”
“Something I’m not proud of,” Madison answered as she got up just before the buzzer went off. “And that’s our time together… remember phone number…” Madison looked over at the red head she was about to spend the next fifteen minutes with. She wasn’t sure how long she’d be in Ben’s body but she learnt to have fun in them just as guys had fun in hers.
Kyle spent the next hour interacting with guys who were just as interested in his current body than he was. Some were awkward and some were charming to the point it made Kyle uncomfortable. There was at least one guy who just talked about himself for fifteen minutes. Kyle actually enjoyed that because he could just think about what to do with Madison’s future husband.
When it finally came time for him to do the job he became Madison for, it was the last person of the night. Kyle was exhausted and just wanted to leave this place. “I’m Jack…” the man introduced with an outstretched hand.
“Ky.. Madison…” Kyle quickly corrected himself. “Sorry it’s been a long night…” Kyle shook off the error. “Actually if you don’t mind I’d like to head home… but you seem nice and I don’t want to stand you up, so how about you give me your phone number and I promise I’ll give you a call in the morning…”
The look on Jack’s face made it look like he didn’t believe Kyle and he didn’t blame the man. But what else could he do, he didn’t want to scare this guy off and he didn’t want to give the wrong impression talking about things that Madison or Jack isn’t interested in.
“I know…” Kyle continued. “Sounds like I’m just blowing you off, but I promise you I’m not.” Kyle then looked around the rest of the room. “Did you get any other girl’s numbers or did they ask for yours?” Jack didn’t answer but there was a look on his face. “My energy for socializing has been drained, do you know how hard it was speaking to some of these people?” Kyle said honestly. “The first guy especially, so exhausting…” Kyle played it up. “I just don’t think it’d be fair on you if we went on this date now and what would it hurt in giving me your number?” Kyle pushed. “The worst I can do is not call.”
“I’ll hold you to that.” Jack finally said as he wrote down his number and handed it to Kyle.
Over at a nearby table Madison watched the exchange. She honestly wished that Kyle would fail in getting Jack’s number but she knew he wouldn’t. She wished the younger version of herself wouldn’t call in the morning but she knew she would. It wasn’t that Jack was a bad person, just not someone she would’ve ever dated. She had tried to break up with him multiple times and would’ve never said yes to marrying him but those choices were in the hands of others. After ten years of marriage, he never noticed she was a different person during crucial times in their life, how could she be with someone so oblivious to that? It wasn’t like she had a choice though, her life was set in stone, all she could do was observe it from the outside.
