Ryan had been on autopilot as he made his morning commute into work. He was still half asleep and wasn’t paying attention to where he was going but that’s because he had made this trip a thousand times. It wasn’t until he walked into an open park he realized he had made the wrong turn somewhere.
“Where am I?” Ryan asked, not recognizing this part of town as he kept walking into the park joining a large crowd of people. “I’m supposed to be going to work…” he muttered to himself as he ended up in a lineup. He turned around to try and leave but more people began to flock in behind him blocking him in. Ryan tried to leave but kept being pushed back into whatever the line was for.
After a while Ryan gave up and turned around to see where he was heading. He found a sign that read ‘Ready for some Top-off fun? Leg’s go!’. It seemed that he was heading towards a carnival which explained the crowd. He had no idea how he was going to explain this to his boss, that he was late because he just ended up at a carnival.
“Right this way,” an attendant gestured Ryan into a makeshift building. Inside there was a cart ride with people taking their seats. Ryan just let someone usher him into one of the carts as he took a seat. This whole set up confused him even more as he hadn’t even paid yet and he was already on a ride. He tried to stand up before the bars came down securing him in place and the cart began to move forward.
The ride went into a tunnel that was too dark for anyone to see. That’s when Ryan felt a cold sensation go through his waist and he wasn’t moving anymore. He heard the whirling noises of gears as he felt like he was moving upwards. He heard lots of yelling, screams and crying as he was raised up into a room filled with people. Only something was wrong, none of them had legs. Ryan looked down to see that his were gone too…

Ryan’s legs stepped off the cart and followed the others outside. Even though they didn’t have lungs it felt a sense of relief as if breathing out and long breath of air. They walked down the path and stopped to sit at a bench. As someone took their shoes and socks off. The legs gave a bow as they got up off the bench and went to explore what the park had to offer.
The first place Ryan’s legs went was the stream of warm water. They just stood there for a while letting the sensation of the water’s flow relax them. Once that was done they walked to the drying station before continuing onwards.
The next destination was the field of Fine Fescue. Ryan never walked on grass barefooted so the legs enjoyed this part of the park. It stayed standing in the field for what seemed like forever, rubbing their toes in the grass.
Now that Ryan’s legs had let their feet relax they decided to do some fun activities, like going on the pedal cars and paddle boats. After that they headed for the massage parlor. Then they went and did something Ryan never would’ve done and went to the painting booth.
Ryan’s legs could just stay here all day and that’s what they did, right up until closing time. They then headed back to the main building to get their top half back…

Ryan had spent the entire day in what felt like a chicken barn. It was hot and overcrowded with too much noise as each new batch of people entered the room and freaked out due to their lack of legs. Ryan’s wrists hurt from walking around with his hands before he finally decided to stay put.
After what had appeared to be hours, he heard a commotion as now people were being lowered down out of the room. The space was becoming less crowded but the process took a while. Finally it was Ryan’s turn to be lowered down. Now he found himself in a room filled with rows of people on clear tables. He wondered what was going on now. That’s when he spotted a pair of legs walk over to a body and reattach themselves to the person.
“Hey where are you going?” Ryan heard someone cry. “I’m over here you, idiot!” Ryan looked over to the commotion as a pair of legs wearing sandals and a miniskirt walked in his direction. He could see a lady a few rows down trying to turn back to face them.
Ryan couldn’t believe what was going on, the pair of legs had rejected their owner and was walking away from them. That’s when Ryan worked out where they were walking to.
“No… don’t you dare…” Ryan yelled at the legs as they came under his table. It was too late to stop them as the attachment process had finished. Ryan tried to seek assistance from one of the workers, but his new legs hurried out of the building as fast as they could taking him with them.
